The BSN Avalanche returned to its old Thursday schedule this week (and will be staying there moving forward) and hosts J.J. Jerez and AJ Haefele are excited about moving into a new studio and talking some NHL Draft.

The show kicks off with a rundown of the Avalanche at the NHL Draft and how they’ve done in the post-Francois Giguere era when the team really shifted its focus to rebuilding via draft selections. There’s plenty of interesting names thrown around in this blast from the past.

The guys then tackle the complicated Rick Pracey era, the former scouting director who was dismissed before the start of the 2014 season and has been repeatedly called out by Patrick Roy since for his mistakes at the draft table. Was it really the bust Roy has made it out to be?

Then the show shifts into present-day with a look at how the Avalanche currently conduct business before taking the slightest peak at this year’s draft class and talking about some players who might be targets for the Avs come this year’s NHL Draft on June 24 before wrapping up the questions from the listeners.
