If I had to place a bet on who gets Tavares either the Islanders or the field, I take the field. His situation is totally different than Stamkos’ was. The Islanders are one of the most dysfunctional organizations in NHL and perhaps all of sports (at least in North America). Tampa is not. There is just no way Garth Snow should still have a job, yet he seems to be GM for life.
Why wouldn’t you want to resign Blake Comeau? He’s a RW. He’s Affordable. He is tied with 33pts as the 18th highest scoring free agent available. He is a good 2 way player that can kill penalties. He is well respected in one of the best locker rooms the Avs have ever had and he wants to be here. Sign him and then go make a run at Riley Nash.
