Andre Simone and AJ Haefele are back this week with another look ahead at this summer’s NHL Draft. This episode they focus on what Colorado should look to do if they fall out of the coveted top two spots and why targeting a defenseman might be the right play.

A.J. Haefele was born in Aurora, Colorado, raised in Katy, Texas and is the Colorado Avalanche beat reporter for DNVR. AJ helped launch the network back in 2015 and has filled roles as a team leader and Editor-In- Chief, along with co-hosting the DNVR draft podcasts along with his other duties. You can hear him every weekday on the DNVR Avalanche podcast.

  • This is only the second one of these I’ve listened to and I gave up about 2/3 of the way in but is the role of the other guy to display very little hockey knowledge and say “yeah, right” to whatever AJ says? Where’s Jesse? I’m thinking he would add a heck of a lot more to the discussion or make it at least somewhat interesting.

  • Wonderful pod

Question – if the Avs end up with a teens pick (13-18) do you think they’d consider drafting Cole Caufield? Pulling Jack Hughes and Cole Caufield would be pretty fun, though youd obviously have size concerns.
