According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks plans to step away from coaching for a year and will therefore no longer be in the running for the Denver Nuggets’ current head-coaching vacancy.

Per Wojnarowki:

Former Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks plans to pass on interview chances with the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans and appears inclined to sit out the 2015-16 season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Brooks, 49, wants to coach again but plans to take the year to look at television opportunities and reconnect with his family living in California, sources said.
Brooks was thought to be the favorite for the Nuggets’ head coaching position by many. Now that he’s out of the race the Nuggets will likely turn to Mike D’Antoni, Melvin Hunt or Alvin Gentry to fill their coaching void, if reports are accurate.
