Good artical Zac. I also have a little more belief this next year will be better! Due to some podcast I listen to, I was extremely hyped about last year, but we all saw how that turned out…..But, with the regieme change and some of the new players I at least feel confident we will be a .500 (and probably better!) team this year! We’ll see what is said in the podcast this year during the preseason!

“That all changed in 2019, it appears.”

Hi Zac,

Thanks for this thought provoking piece.

Sorry to say I’m not buying it. Each year the local journalists who cover the Broncos feel the need to sell orange and blue rainbows.

How about a more skeptical approach? It’s not like Elway’s record as a GM should inspire much confidence. His one great accomplishment was convincing Manning to sign on. Other than that, there’s been a couple of auto-draft hits (i.e, Miller & Chubb) and a whole bunch of simply terrible decisions.

Based on past performance, a battle for last place in the AFC West is more probable than a playoff berth.

He also brought Talib, T.J. Ward, Demarcus Ware, Emmanuel Sanders, Domata Peko, Wes Welker. All GREAT moves by Elway to bring over.
