Vance Joseph seems like a great dude. But he may go down as among the worst coaches in Denver sports history, especially considering this team has talent to at least be competitive.

I’m fine with going big. But we did that with Joseph. And when you swing big and miss, things get worse fast. I’m a fan of Manchester United and in the six years since the greatest sporting coach ever (Sir Alex Furgeson) retired they have done a mix of swinging big and playing it safe. Now it looks like it might be 8 or 9 years to win the league again. Is that where we are going?

College coaches rarely work out (unless like Seattle you hire a coach who was essentially paying professionals already). Coordinators rarely have the “it” factor to move into the big chair. Don’t envy picking the next man.

Oh, and I will say it…I still don’t know what we have in Case Keenum because the offense we watched this year had zero creativity, bad line play, and was devoid of passion. I want to draft a QB high but no panic moves. We’ve been there before and considering we won a SB with a one-legged Payton Manning (and a playoff game with Tim Tebow), QB is only middle of the pack for change that has to happen.

Firstly, I’ve been a listener for two seasons now and recently subscribed. I don’t have tons of time to read content, but appreciate the Broncos and Avs podcasts. Although I’m looking forward to the offseason and preseason content since were going to have a bunch of changes.

I agree with the commentary on Sunday, Case needs a spread offense, with playmakers everywhere. If we retain him for another season, or have a rookie behind him, I feel we need to give him an OC who gets his skill sets and can make a playbook that goes with that. I feel we have most of the components on offense if all the injured players come back, so select O-line with our top pick or picks. Look at the colts. They took Nelson which wasn’t sexy, but they’ve won their division and are one of the scariest teams going into the playoffs.

Need better secondary obviously, and maybe some new blood in the LB room, but hopefully whoever they hire gets this ship turned around and doesn’t waste some special talents in their prime. Lindsay, Miller, Chubb, Harris JR and Sanders, these guys deserve better.

Orange and Blue forever! GO BRONCOS!!!

I just wonder what could have been had the scheme on both sides of the ball been better. This link on Pro Football Focus shows the stats for Keenum in play action https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-why-the-broncos-are-not-giving-case-keenum-the-chance-to-succeed. The data is startling. How many times did we go three receivers or empty and end up going 3 and out? How about coaching to player strengths? Who knows what goes on behind closed doors, I doubt Elway developed the game plans, this is what cost Vance the most. That and Bradley Chubb in pass coverage, why was he ever in pass coverage? Coaching matters. I think if you pick one of the offensive geniuses they you better have a QB with a matching skill set. If Kubiak moves back into the OC role, then they probably plan to stick with Keenum and try to run the ball more and get to more play action and a guy like Munchak makes sense. With the current list of candidates it does not seem like the Broncos are going full rebuild and will probably not swing for the fences.
