Has there been any discussion about the way Lock got injured? Seems like his last minute shovel pass while getting tackled totally exposed him to have his unprotected shoulder slammed into the turf. Seems like a trend with Lock to try and force things when he’s definitively not making a play. While he’s athletic, he’s not athletic enough to elude elite pass rushers. Really hope the coaching staff drills it in his head that he needs to either throw the ball away or wrap up and take the sack while protecting himself. It’s no coincidence guys like Brady / Manning extended their careers for a really long time knowing when to lean into the sack.

This is what Vic Fangio said about the play Lock got hurt and Lock trying to make plays:

“He could have stepped up and executed, stayed with the play a little bit longer. Then once you start scrambling, and any time you’ve hit the ground, you’re always in danger of getting hurt particularly a quarterback where the shoulders or anything to your throwing arm can happen.”
