In a perfect storm of sorts, Cody Latimer was given a great opportunity today.
Brock Osweiler started at quarterback — the man who’s been throwing Latimer the ball in practice for two years — and Emmanuel Sanders was a game-time scratch from the lineup.
What developed was Latimer’s first touchdown of his NFL career, coming from his man Osweiler.
This touchdown was special not only because it was Latimer’s first of his NFL career but because it was the eventual game-winning touchdown. Denver won the game 17-15 and improved to 8-2 on the season to lead the AFC West by four games.
Osweiler improved to 1-0 as a starter and the Broncos are also 1-0 when Latimer scores a touchdown.
