It’s a “mindset” problem? That’s gibberish. It’s a talent issue, specifically the middle linebackers.

How last year we had a top run stopping D and this year not… not much movement on the D players so I think it is a scheme and coaching as much as anything.

Why is Joe Wood’s name not mentioned once in this article? I feel like as DC he should be held accountable for this awful showing of run defense. I haven’t watched the film yet but it seems like every run over 5 yards was because the defensive line was getting blown of the ball and the LBs were completely missing their fits. Granted, I also think it should be mentioned that whenever Peko or another D-lineman got a hand on Gurley there was no help for about 5 yards.

To be fair, our LBs were probably worried about helping out with the explosive passing potential with Goff behind center but good LBs have to be able to read and react to plays faster than what we were seeing Sunday. (I really miss Danny T.)

Jewel should definitely be seeing more playing time now.

Von also got a hand-me sack.

Chubb was awful against the run from what I could see so far.

Side Note—
I feel like an article is coming about this, but our pass defense wasn’t complete crap. Even with Roby getting burnt a few times.

Sorry for the long post. Can’t wait for the POD.

By the way I saw a thing saying Joseph took on the Defensive play calling.
