So one of the problems with a conservative offense System isn’t a conservative mindset? Weird headline though the article is spot on

Vic needs to march into John’s office, tell him he’s firing Rich and hiring his guy, and if John says no, tell him to shove his job. He’s getting this D playing top level, and an antiquated offense is doing him no favours.

Elway is too stubborn to make a change that drastic. Do we even know which offensive system Fangio would like to run? But if we are believing in unicorns and fairies, which OFF coordinator do we go get?

This reminds me of what the Broncos faced with Tim Tebow (admission, huge Tebow fan…but why did we ever select him?). They tried to make Tebow fit the 1980s 49ers…and he stunk. They gave him the chance to be Tebow and, granted we got blown out by the Pats, but we did win a playoff game…something that we haven’t seen in a few years now.

My point being, change your scheme to fit your talent. Unless Payton has gone through a timewarp and is 33 and willing to come play for us, there is no one who could succeed this mess (granted better offensive line play is essential too). So throw out the book. See what Lock or Rypien has by playing to their strengths. Otherwise you are something worse than a bad team. A boring one. And given life’s limited number of hours, why would I give the Broncos 3 of them?

Preach! Although to be contrarian, Elway seeing the 49er’s and Patriots both undefeated in the league with the “type” of team he wants to build isn’t helping things.
