Double down on that! Wonderful attitudes shown by the Broncos and fantastic reporting: BSN sub best by far for any Broncos news.

Thanks, guys! Glad you enjoyed it.

I shared this on twitter but I started working on this story late last night after the first four picks all followed that pattern.

Every time I almost finished it today, the Broncos would make another pick and every single time, the pick followed the pattern.

It was funny because I kept having to update the story haha.

Nice one Ryan. Sounds like this draft class could teach a few things to some from last year’s class, and perhaps even the year before. Looking at Carlos Henderson and Paxton.

It was pretty interesting that every pick was falling this way. For most of the draft I thought it might be the 1B criteria (leadership, virtue, and love of the game) to the 1A of being a good football player.

The servant leader section was really cool. It reminds me of when a company gets a new CEO because they’re failing, and that CEO chooses to focus on safety instead of sales. It seems backwards because it doesn’t make the company money. But slowly the workers buy in, realize the company is good and cares about them, and eventually their solid foundation leads to success.

A football team with players that are good people and love the game doesn’t necessarily have a direct translation to wins. But we could see that locker room evolve into a place where everyone truly cares about what the team is doing and is held accountable. And if that culture continues to build, we could a bunch of guys willing to sacrifice everything for the guy next to him (because he knows he’ll do the same for him and doesn’t want to let him down). That’s a way to change an organization’s foundation. That will undoubtedly- even indirectly- lead to more wins for this team. As a fan, I’m inspired to think of a team like that.

And I love Talib. But our decision to trade him away makes so much sense after watching this draft.

Thanks for putting this piece together Ryan. As much as I enjoy all the X’s and O’s that we we come here for, I equally enjoy stories like this that highlight the heart and soul of the players underneath that make up our team. The human side of the game. Great read man!

Thanks, Mark! Obviously, I love talking football and breaking down players and all that good stuff, but the human side is what I’m most passionate about.

I love the fact that with our team splitting up the duties throughout the draft, I was able to spend a bit more time on a story like this one.

Excited to follow up on some of the leads I came across while researching this one.

Hey Ryan,

So I’ve been listening to the podcast since the end of 2016 or so. Huge fan (you can add Tennessee to the map). I must confess, I had never read an article by BSN before, but I was interested in looking at some of Andre’s film room articles after the draft had concluded. I registered for the month free trial, just to give it a shot. As I was flipping through to find the film rooms, I stumbled across this piece as the first article I ever read on BSN.

I went straight back into my account, and enrolled for a year membership.

Proud to be a part of the BSN fam officially. If you guys ever come through Knoxville, first round is on me. Thanks for all you do. -Chad
