The Denver Broncos appear to be narrowing in on San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans as their No. 1 head coaching candidate. But so are the Texans. In fact, is Houston now the frontrunner? Will the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Conference Championship game? How does Dan Quinn staying with the Dallas Cowboys impact Denver’s head coaching search?

Mile High Till I Die
The way this ownership group has handled this coaching search feels a lot like the way Nathaniel Hackett handled his first few games as the Broncos head coach. It feels confused, unprepared and bizarrely inadequate considering the business resumes of the people involved. Even if we manage to land Jim Harbaugh or Dan Quinn at this point it doesn’t feel like it will be because they had great connections and interviews, but more so because things were so mishandled that the ownership group had to back track and then get on their hands and knees and beg and throw obscene amounts of money at them to convince them to come and save the franchise. For the first time I’m genuinely worried about the people that own this team. At the end of this process, I’m worried we’ll end up with a bottom of the list candidate and the ownership will have no problem firing them after a couple years because that was never their guy in the first place.
Pitch
I have a theory. Interest between the Broncos and Payton is mutual and they are playing the waiting game to get leverage on the Saints. If no vacancies are left they may be able to push down the cost of a trade. Payton will want Broncos draft capital too…

We were told that being bought by the Walmart people would mean proven business minds steering the ship + enough money (richest owners by 10s of billions of dollars) to outbid other teams on any expense, and what we got instead was the Succession family desperately flailing around and failing to get any coach to sign on.
So what is it? Are Logan and Shiv Walton plus Tom Penner Wamsgams just incompetent? Are they doing what most billionaires do and not actually wanting to throw their money around to put in competitive offers, or is Russell Wilson’s stock just so toxic that no coach in their right mind wants to come here? On the bright side, we’re getting a bigger scoreboard and they did spend $400,000 on making the field slightly less brown for exactly one game. ♀️ Don’t mean to be such a downer, I still believe brighter times are ahead despite this low, low point, and at least through it all, we’ve got the best sports coverage in the country with DNVR

Friday’s show was a blast! Numbeez delivered with both some extremely “phrasing” moments and the epic chug. Well done fellas.
Earmuffs but I fuckin hate the Chiefs man. Watching them make a Super Bowl with an EXTRA PLAY was especially sickening. I hope each one of those officials is fined, but they’ll probably be promoted and assigned to the SB.
GO BIRDS!
The Count
Remember that time the refs gave Mahomes and co an extra down and then called a bs PI to keep them in the game? I hated that
Love
The Count go Eagles!

Hate it or love it, Paton’s hire coincided with all the leaks from the Broncos org drying up!
I’ve come from being excited, to nervous, to now just assuming that nobody knows what is going on anyway and I’m just going to enjoy the conspiracy theories for what they are.
Next year we could be coached by Jared Bednar with Bugs Bunny at OC.
