Gotta comment on RK’s assessment of the 30s. First of all, can’t judge a decade until you’ve completed it. As a 47 year old, I believe my 30s were actually the best years of my life in many ways. Like an athlete, there is that delicate balance between the mental and physical peaks. I think the 30s provide that perfect blend of the mental maturity and self knowledge that does not exist in the teens and 20s, but still enough of the physical aspects that start to dissipate in the 40s and beyond. Enjoy, my friend. You are just starting the best decade of your life. See you all in London. Go Broncos.

I’m with RK, Let’s get this rivalry going again. To kick this revived rivalry off, we need a DNVR raider hater shirt. One of the best shirts I owned back in the 90s and it’s definitely time DNVR does their own version.

Why haven’t the Broncos signed Ndamukong Suh yet? Why not ramp up the middle of our d-line and really turn up the heat on the AFC West? It would take more pressure off our offense and allow the run and play-action to be more of a threat…

I just want to comment on your Broncos, raiders rivalry discussion. In the 70s and 80s the rivalry was red hot. The cooling down of the rivalry happened post 90s. Why? Two factors. The raiders sucked hard after the early 2000s, and the biggest factor, in my opinion, was free agency. No longer do players get drafted to one team and stay there for their entire career. This constant turning over of rosters never happened in the past. The payer had time to build up grudges, experience tough losses, get hit by the same dirty SOBs year in and year out. Real animosity grows with familiarities. Lastly, the player today does not have time to develop loyalty to a city, its fans, and an organization. I miss those times. It was just different and in some ways better. If you built a team that was dominant, it meant a lasting dynasty. The Broncos and Raiders used to fight to be the kings of the mountain in the 70s and the 80s. Now all teams turn over much of the roster in just one offseason.
