My gents ,

With Russ’ tendency to roll out a lot do you think we might see a lot of 2 tight end sets to compensate for a weaker right tackle position? Like a pass catching TE on the left running a shallow drag and a mobile blocker on right to set the edge and give Russ an outpost from which to launch that leather bean whilst on the move? What do you say boys?

Also what’s you all’s favorite viral video?

Gentlemen! Enjoyed the pod yesterday discussing the tight end room. I love the tight end position – these guys have to do it all – pass pro, run blockers and receivers.

A good QB/TE partnership is hugely valuable – think Elway/Sharpe, Brady/Gronk, Ryan/Gonzalez, Mahomes/Kelce.

But franchise tag and non-exclusive tags result in average salaries that are only just over 50% of the money that goes to wide receivers or offensive line positions.

These guys take the hits too as their routes are often between the numbers. No skipping out of bounds to avoid contact. So risk of injury must be higher and attrition on the body greater.

Why do you think the position is so poorly paid? Pay the tight ends I say!

All the best from the UK.
Christopher
