Hey guys after listening to the pod since training camp you finally got me. So just to introduce myself, I’m a lifelong Bronco fan from Montana and blue and orange is just a way of life in my family. Haven’t been to a game since I was 4 and had the privilege to watch a super bowl team dominate the Cowboys and witness TD have one of his best performances. Anyway, you guys make my days at work so much better and I’m excited to get to talk with you and be apart of DNVR. PS work on getting Strawberry Sky here in Montana as my now fiancé and I made a trip in August where I had my first taste of that sweet BreckBrew and miss it dearly. Sorry for the long comment but it being my first one I may have gotten carried away.

I think the reason Zac is said to be doing ASMR is because on the pod, RK and Mase were speaking quietly away from the mic whereas as Zac was speaking much closer to it and his voice was more present. That being said STOP ASMR is really uncomfortable lol. The amount of people that have jumped on that train is slightly distressing. In terms of sports memorabilia, I have a baseball signed by Josh Beckett because a former neighbor of mine was a big wig with Budweiser and went hunting with him.

You guys crack me up how quiet you were on Wednesday’s pod. Normally on my commute home I have the volume somewhere between 8-10 but for this particularly quiet pod I was between 12-14. 12 on side roads and 14 on the freeway!
To TheBigTebowskis preposterous and insubordinate comments on hockey, most of my family members/friends also say they can’t follow the puck so it’s hard for them to get into it. I tell them you have to have a good understanding of the structure of the game in order to have an idea of where the puck should be and/or could be. Football and hockey are my two biggest loves as far as sports go. I played football in high school and hockey on a club team growing up. Now as a 23 year old I play in an adult league, often referred to as “beer league” because we often have a couple brews prior to each game and after each game. It’s some of the best times! Although as you can imagine, sometimes beer and the physicality of the game can go very sideways lol

P.s, I was reading the reviews on apple podcasts and someone said “good content but too long”. What the hell. I wish you guys would make 3 hour pods everyday! Lol, not entirely feasible, but often times I prefer listening to the pod more than I prefer watching tv. Thanks fellas! Much love

Could the team be sold and the general public not even learn about it until afterwards? I am interested in your thoughts/insights as to how the process would work.

What are we going to do if we end up with a bad new owner? That’s a nightmare scenario. Granted the Bowlens are dysfunctional, but right now with Joe Ellis running the team I do believe in the leadership of the organization. How worried are you guys?

With all this coronavirus scare going around I’m just hoping the global outbreak waits about 3 weeks to make it to the US so that I can go on a spring break cruise to Cozumel with my boys. We’ve had this booked since October and I’m not scared of the virus! I’m gonna be putting away enough drinks on my deluxe drink package to sanitize my innards so coronavirus is no match for me!

Jumping in on the tonsils story from this week’s pods, I am having my removed during my spring break in March, not gonna lie I’m nervous, it’ll be my first time having surgery, but they have landed me in the ER twice in the past two months with sepsis, and I can’t tell you how awful that feels, so I am still looking forward to getting them out. Any advice for the recovery period afterwards?

Very relieved to hear the Broncos support our assertions of the line not being where it needs to be BUT I dont know how I feel about them reaching for a lineman at 15 if Wirfs and Thomas are gone. No other lineman can be warranted at that spot with all these studs at WR available. I think I’m still with Mase on the take WR at #15 hopefully one of the BIG 3 trade back up for Biadiaz late in round one by trading one or two of our zillion picks, and then going for one more WR in round 2. Another late round reciever I love that NO ONE is mentioning is Michael Pittman Jr from USC. People are saying 5th round or later blows my mind. Seen this guy in person. Bonified stud. If Ruggs is in the slot and him opposite Sutton. WATCH OUT!!

Do you think Ruggs got into his own head a bit with the 40 and as a result pushed himself a little too hard causing him to miss the rest of the night?

It seems to me that even if you are going defense in FA and offense in the draft, the Broncos MUST come out of FA with at least one starting-caliber interior lineman. Maybe that means re-signing McGovern, or maybe you get Scherff or Glasgow, but you have to get somebody. I would argue that should be as high a priority as D-line or corner.

On the ownership front, how quickly do you think this might unwind? Would you take the over or under on an announcement the team is for sale by opening kickoff 2020?

With the WR 40 times in the books, how do you feel the stock of Jeudy, Ruggs , Reagor, and Shenault has changed? Or is the 40 time one of those metrics that teams over-emphasize.

Took a long time to get (almost) completely caught up.

Speaking of the Irish custom with rings, which way/hand would you wear the ring if you’re in some kind of open relationship? It would be disadvantageous to finding other people if you wore the ring right hand pointing inwards/to the hand/wrist but you’re not technically single and the point is to convey your availability/status after all.

Also thank you to the one who pointed out the Hawaiian restaurants near the DFW, eager to try them.

And to briefly talk about this tall-short debate there are way more disadvantages to being tall than people realize, I’m 6’2 but I have to lean/bend over almost every sink to wash my hands, bend over the average table (especially coffee tables), you’re more easily picked out in a crowd (which can be a good thing too), you’re uncomfortable when squeezing 3 into the backseat of a car, and lots of others. I know you don’t want posts to be too long but I could name hundreds, maybe thousands of ways being tall can be a disadvantage especially if you look at work or hobbies (tall bus drivers and teachers will have to bend and hit their head getting on school buses), hobbies like playing cards on a table or similar competitions (poker, Trading Card Games) leave you bending over, reaching, and sitting in strained ways for hours, there’s so many different ways.

I’ve come to wish I was like 5’10/5’11.

Anyway, that’s about 300 words so that’s enough. Can’t wait, free agency and draft have me excited like never before.

Let’s live In a world were Wills, Thomas, Wirfs, Lamb, Jeudy and Ruggs are all gone by 15. What then? I would think this is probably worst case scenario.

I’d like to chime in on a few topics, I kept it to 450 words. I haven’t commented in a while but I’ve silently listened to every pod here in the background for a couple years now.
1. My wife and I changed banks and got new debit cards and my monthly DNVR sub got canceled because of the auto payment failing from the old account. So I REsubcribed, for a YEAR this time so I guess you can say “we got ’em… AGAIN” This community is just TOO awesome and the Broncos coverage is too golden to miss.
2. My opinion on the Flight/Height discussion. I’m 6’2 (slight flex) and while some back seats in compact cars are tight, think some of the other 6’2 subscribers are exaggerating our difficulties. It’s not that bad. Most examples are valid but uncommon. But I’m really confused by all the plane seat reclining issues. I’m always uncomfortable on a plane and have very little leg room but, having spent countless hours on flights, I’ve NEVER been bothered by the person in front of me reclining their seat, whether I’m eating, sleeping or using my computer or the tray. Plane seats only recline about 2 1/2 inches anyway, it’s hardly a difference. You guys are being over dramatic. While your courtesy is admirable, I bet there’s a good chance someone like me is sitting behind you that couldn’t care less.

4. Ryan is right, French toast is best and waffles and pancakes are often (not always) made from the same mix. It’s just how you cook it. Iron or skillet. Silly.
5. On the sleeping and snoring topic I can relate to a bunch of stories including giant tonsils but I’ll keep it to one. Ryan, I very regularly have dreams that fade into reality when I wake up at night, including MANY instances of finding people standing in my room. This usually causes me to jump out of bed, only to have them vanish after a few seconds leaving me feeling silly. However for me it’s usually less out of fear for my life and more out of embarrassment of the fact that I’m not dressed. I never knew why this happened and it’s nice to know I’m not alone.
6. Seeing as Risner was a SLAM DUNK in the second round, I’ll be very disappointed if Elway doesn’t fight to get one of the top 3 WRs in the draft this year. I say GET JEUDY, LAMB OR RUGGS even if you have to trade up a couple spots, and draft OL with the next pick. Thoughts?

One morning in 2011 (it was actually about noon but I was a teenager at the time so I was still asleep) I was woken up abruptly to my entire world being rocked, literally. I turned on the news to see that it was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake that shook the whole east coast and the epicenter was less than an hour away. I never experienced an earthquake before, other than a 6.3 magnitude that I slept through in Rome 2 years prior, and I never thought of Virginia as a place that has earthquake so my initial thought as I woke up was that we’re getting bombed and I have never jumped out of bed so fast.

To ThunderDownUnder…..haha, that made me laugh, I do need to stay off the rum, but in my defense, I am just stating the obvious. If there is no danger in sports, then it isn’t as interesting. We don’t want to watch Russian Roulette (generally), but an element of risk increases our fascination.

Would you all watch the NFL if it was flag football? Rugby if it was touch rugby? Cricket with a Tennis Ball? No. We need some contact, some element of risk involved, to varying degrees for your own personal tastes, but there has to be ‘some’ I think, and obviously some sports lend itself to this, and others don’t.

Take F1 as an example, of which I am a massive fan btw (roll-on Melbourne), but viewing figures are massively down from where they are in the 70s and 80s, when it was a much more dangerous sport.

As much as we might not like it, danger does contribute to viewing figures.

Loved you boys laughing at me wanting restrictions on the comments section; hell yeah I need restrictions. There are hundreds of things I want to ask you boys every day, and try my damnedest to limit it to one and under 250, but sometimes I fail.

I noticed a distinct lack of top WR talent outside Ruggs posting sub 4.4s yesterday. With Ruggs speed likely pushing him out of range at pick 15 do you guys think this changes our draft strategy? Jeudy and Lamb are great but we need blazing speed. What are the odds this leads us to find our burner in FA, giving us a true vet in that room then go BPA in the first if all the top tackles are gone and find a late round speedster? I won’t go into my draft predictions until after free agency, I will however say I support Mase’s pull for Biadasz in the second which moves McGovern back to guard.

And for a bit of shameless self promotion, I made the entire flight to Houston last night with my seat upright! Not because I’m a swell guy but the movie I started watching before takeoff was such a terrible train wreck I didn’t think about it until we landed and I tried to get up. Sup brothers! Hope the combine is dope. I have been catching up to the pod as I’ve been predisposed with my first Mardi Gras living in New Orleans… Holy shit guys, it gets wild down here. People literally died, which is very sad, but that’s how inebriated people go for there parades and stuff.

I was just listening to a pod from last week about the topic of being woken by strange things and have a story. Also Ryan (I’m sure somebody said this already but if they haven’t), that state of semi consciousness that exists between sleepworld and real world is called sleep paralysis, and it’s terrifying, I have plenty of those stories too.

Here is my story…my girlfriend and I would always sleep with Netflix on so inevitably in the night I would wake up and turn the TV off. One such night I woke up, and grab the TV remote from my right and lean up to turn the TV off. As I lay back down to go to sleep, in my periphs I see my lady sitting bolt upright on my left, peering out into the newly completely dark room. I’m expecting her to say something and when she doesn’t I nudge her and say “babe, what’s up”… She slowly and without taking her eyes off the empty, dark void of the room, raises her finger and points to the corner while saying, “who’s that?” I immediately tear my gaze to where she’s pointing saying “who’s who!… Who’s who!”, because all I could see was darkness. When she doesn’t say anything in response a chance a glance her way and she’s laying back down dead asleep. Needless to say i was terrified and didn’t sleep the rest of the night… That’s how I found out she is a sleep talker.

Obviously it’s tough to have a prediction before free agency, but I think with how everyone is testing in Indy, the tackles may go a little earlier that I originally thought and there’s gonna be a great WR to pick for us at 15.

Overall, my thought on the draft is that I trust Fangio on defense and trust Munchak along the offensive line. Whoever we draft on defense or offensive line I’ll know they were drafted with that coach’s seal of approval. I love having such respected coaches on our staff.

My question to you is this. Do you think the Broncos will draft more receivers or offensive linemen in the draft this year?
