World of Suck
A couple Jerry Jeudy questions for you guys:
1) If I had to pick a recent Bronco to be a Jeudy comp, it would be Emmanuel. Jeudy runs a hair slower, but he’s a hair bigger. If you had to pick one to be on a roster for one season, who do you take! Jeudy as a rookie or Emmanuel circa 2017?
2) What do you know about Jeudy as an off the field guy? If I have any concern with him, it’s in that department. I don’t want to hold the Wunderlic score or his uninspiring interviews against him, but I’ve heard him say some less than intelligent things as well. For one example, on draft night, Courtland interviewed him on Facebook Live he had to ask Courtland if Denver is cold lol. His tape makes it clear that he has a high football IQ, but I do wonder if a less than stellar level of common sense would set him down a path toward being the next Antonio Brown or Terrell Owens rather than a Demaryius Thomas or someone like that. Am I crazy here? At least we know he’s surrounded by some guys with a good head on their shoulders in Sutton and Hamler.

Vontaze Burfict sent AB down around the bend after the AFC wild card game in 2015. No one takes that hard of a hit without long term damage setting in.

Alright, now that all you fruits have spoken, it’s time to look inward and start asking yourselves the real questions: what are your top 5 vegetables?
Rules:
1. You can cook/season however you like but it must be one you eat by itself. Example: I love red onions and put them on almost everything I cook, but don’t eat it by itself.
2. Potatoes don’t count
My list
1. Asparagus
2. Broccoli
3. Celery (best raw veggie and I will die on this hill)
4. Red bell pepper
5. Corn
On an unrelated note, Mase, every time you say Muti’s name and don’t say it how you say “BOOTY” you’re doing us all a disservice.

Hey fellas,
Great pod! Looks like we all got our answer with the Bolles drama.
I personally had two Broncos losses that took me a while to get over. I’m the same as RK, I can’t stomach anything sport related for a couple weeks. I find other ways to fill the void lol. My two recent times were:
1. 2012/2013 Rahim Moore blunder. I was at a poker tournament at a friends house. I was doing well, and was in the top four. After that pass, I couldn’t concentrate on the game and ended up loosing horribly within 4 turns lol. Rough night.
2. 2013 Super Bowl. I had become a little cocky over the year and had been talking smack to a lot of my pals. One of my friends threw one hell of a Super Bowl party, and all was well until the first snap. I sat stunned on the sofa for the first 30 minutes as my beloved Broncos got beat like they stole something. The whole while all my buds sat around talking smack ( Including my wife ) to me. I still had faith at half time, and told them all “ Watch, we are only down by 22. We have PFM! We are going to come back”! Immediately upon return, they who shall not be named returned the kick off for a touchdown. I then endured a whole other round of smack talk.
As I sat there stunned on the sofa trying to figure out what the hell happened, my wife came over to console me. I couldn’t even talk. Eventually I was such a drag that all my friends moved to another room, leaving me to stew in my misery.
I’m sorry for the long post, just wanted to share. Keep up the great work fellas!

We know of mase’s Book and that there will be another @RK and Zac do y’all have any book ideas/plans? Also don’t remember who brought it up, but once the bar is back open, there HAS to be a DNVR bar Q&A segment

Hey y’all
Mase mentioned Chazz Surratt as a potential prospect at LB. I think he’s more of a project with a high upside. He only started playing LB his junior year, but having watched him play, he is a great athlete and extremely intelligent, which lends to his upside. He was a highly touted QB in high school and was recruited to UNC as a QB for his first two years which can be viewed as a plus for brains and leadership. I’m just kind of curious what y’all’s thoughts are. Would this be a savvy gamble? Also he’s from Denver… NC.
I just realized this comment is a little too on topic for me so… if you had to pick one vegetable to be shot with, out of a potato gun at 10 yds, what would you choose? I’ll see myself out.
God Bless

Good afternoon, gentlemen. A lot has been made of Jerry Jeudy’s talent and playmaking ability as a prospect and how he could adapt to the NFL. Where would you rank Jeudy among top WR prospects coming out of Alabama in recent years; Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley? Where would you rank Jeudy among last years WR class? Thanks for the great content as always.

Hey DNVR Family,
Just a quick football/non-football question: with NASCAR starting up again on May 17 with no fans, what should we as football fans look for? Ratings? How the race flowed? I am not a NASCAR fan but I am excited to see what a sporting event will look like with no fans.
Thank you and keep up the AWESOME work.

Hey guys!
Mase mentioned the other day that the fullback position is a dying breed. As a unique skill set as it is, and as painful as it is to see our beloved Jano leave on the same flight that Peyton Hillis once took, it got me thinking. With the rise of Taysom Hill, and the eagles’ drafting of Jalen Hurts, is the gadget quarterback rising from the ashes of the fullback? And also, is there a better name for said position?
EJRosier16
Given all the WRs we got in the draft and as undrafted, I still want us to keep Diontae Spencer. It’s been such a long time since we’ve had a guy like that on special teams and don’t want us experimenting on another return specialist.
Thoughts?

The more time that does by the more I love the Judy over Ruggs Idea even after the Draft.
Friday night what is Judy doing….. working on the Jugs machine in his back yard in the dark mean while Ruggs is busy launching his Clothing line.
Judy is already showing the Character of Greatness. Not saying anything about Ruggs character just noting the desire to be great by Judy.
Raiders out Raidered them selves. Thank you John Gruden and Mike Mayock for proving why you were so good in television and may be there again soon. Hopefully for the Broncos sake not too soon.
Have a great day friends.

Hey guys, chiming in with my story of the Broncos first impacting my emotions. I have been a diehard Broncos fan from pretty much the time I was 6 years old. I was 9 when Denver got destroyed by the Redskins in the Super Bowl. After the heartbreak of the prior year’s loss to the Giants I was so excited for the game especially after Elway’s long TD pass to Ricky Nattiel on our first offensive play. Then the second quarter came along with the Redskins scoring 35 points. I went up to my bedroom at halftime and started crying. My dad (who has been a pastor my entire life….explains a lot about my jumbled mind) came up to check on me. Through my teary eyes I said “Why Dad….why?! Why is God letting the Broncos lose?” He looked at me fairly disgusted and said “God has a lot more important things to worry about son!” and walked out. My faith has never been the same.

This has been echoed but thanks so much for the stellar Draft coverage. I loved every moment of Round 1 live and had to catch up later on the other rounds as I had to work. But you guys gave me so much content it took me all week to catch up!
Before the draft I texted my two brothers (one a Bronco Fan and one a Raider fan) that I hope that Jeudy was a Bronco by nights end. The top 10 went perfectly for us. I screamed at my computer for the Jets to draft Becton because that would almost guarantee us one of the big 3. When the Raiders took Ruggs another text to my brother to thanking him for his team leaving the top 2 alone! Then when the Niners took Kinlaw I was stunned! we had the opportunity to get the top WR in this loaded WR draft @ 15!!!! Dreams do come true!!!
No question today but just so ecstatic at the direction of this team!!! Never would have dreamed that they would have developed the roster so much in a single off-season. We have a squad that if Drew takes the next step will all expect him to we should be in the playoff picture with back to double digit wins.
Go Broncos and Go DNVR!!!

Love the coverage from you guys throughout the pandemic. I’m so stoked for this season and our offense because, maybe, just maybe, it might be entertaining to watch. I want to buy in the hype but I’ve been fooled before so I’m trying to not get too hyped up about it. How about some hype for our defense? What excites you most about our defense? Where do you think we will stand in the ranks next year? And who do you think will be our teams most valuable defensive player this year? Appreciate all the work you guys do and love being apart of this community. Keep it comin fellas!
P.S. if the NFL season is cancelled I will cry real man tears.

What happened to the 2019 5th we got for Trevor? Is it the one that became Hollins or was it the one we traded for Scangarello – I mean, for Dekoda Watson.
Thanks, really curious about this one.
dan birk
did y’all see calvin anderson being cryptic after the bolles news broke? all he said was ‘?’ but the timing was interesting
it’s a LONG shot but is there any chance he’s a factor in their plans next year? the broncos kept him as a game-day inactive (instead of subjecting him to waivers) for 3 months so they must see something they like.
i kinda feel the same way about shakial taylor on the defense. they kept these two guys on the active roster for months. gotta imagine there’s a reason for doing that.

Loved the Comp discussion! Very fun. And I posted it on Twitter lots but the draft coverage was amazing.
As a side note, I’ve had a terrible week personally but listening to “My Boys” everyday has been one of the bright spots. So thank you for helping me through.
Looking forward to all the great offseason content.

Hey guys sorry about the long post but I rarely post so here it goes. After giving time for the draft feelings to settle I am not nearly as convinced about Jeudy as you guys are. I studied Ruggs way more than Jeudy before the draft because I thought Jeudy would be gone by 15, but now that that I’ve watched Jeudy I’m not nearly as convinced as Ryan and Zac are. He is definitely good and should be a good number 2, but after watching every play from the LSU game last year, some film rooms on him, and of course reading Andre’s film room, I don’t think he’s truly elite. In that LSU game, which I chose because it’s probably the closest thing to an NFL secondary, he wasn’t able to separate like he does against worse teams. He doesn’t jump out as overly fast in game, and honestly I thought he was the 3rd best receiver out there in terms of skills that will translate to the NFL (Dside note I love devonte Smith). His 2 big drops in that game as well as the fact he doesn’t seem great at contested catches really scare me, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Sutton needs to be worried about his receiver 1 spot the next 2 years. I respect your guys opinions and I truly want to be wrong, so I’m hoping you can tell me what I should watch that will convince me he wasn’t the 4th receiver in this class behind Jefferson.
larrydennjr
Bro I’m not sure what game you watched but Juedy Got open a lot !!! In that game I watched every snap he still had a decent game and maybe ur blown away by the big plays that Donvan Smith had but Juedy was open a lot in that game but Tua was under CONSTANT PRESSURE #1 ….. And he made some really really bad throws …..that game I don’t understand what you mean by Jeudy wasn’t impressive lol
elroyjetson
Hey guys. Its your boy Elroy. Loved the draft coverage. It was like Spacely’s Space Sprockets compared to national coverage being generic Cogsworth Cogs. And yes I know Mase may have to explain that to you two. Wish I could have stayed awake to watch it all but I get up at 4am EST. I have to dad flex on ya though. My daughter entered into a contest called National History Day and won 1st place at the state “virtual” contest in Elementary Performance even with a weak camera man trying to be a good dad.
Excited for the future.
Elroy.

Hey fellas, Mase, hope you’re there on this May the Fourth be with you. I tried to get a question into the Wednesday and Thursday, but we can circle back to that. We don’t play them, but are the Cowboys going to be a bigger threat this year? I don’t know if Andy Dalton makes them any better or worse, but they seem to be a sexy pick to do well. I wonder what’s going to become of Dak Prescott if he doesn’t sign.
Project Pat 801
Hey gang,
Thanks for the great draft coverage. I dont think I have ever been more excited about a draft class in 20+ years of following the team.
I gotta chime in on the Utah Utes conversation from Friday. To make things even more impressive the 2004 and 2008 teams went undefeated and became the first “BCS Busters”. That 2008 Bama roster was headlines by our very own Kareem Jackson as well as big names such as Julio Jones, Courtney Upshaw and Marc Barron as well as a “Can’t Miss Prospect” in Glenn Coffee in front of a young Mark Ingram. Still one of the happiest days in my sports fan life growing up around the corner from the U of U.
Thanks for letting me talk a little utes to you buffs and rams fans but we can all agree that our beloved Denver Broncos are blasting off out of this world of suck we have been living in for far too long. Can’t wait to see what the young gun Drew Lock can do with all these shiney new weapons. Sorry for the length and thanks for all you guys do for this community.

What kind of bubble do you envision when you think of a roster bubble? Mine is always kind of akin to that bubble from the bubble boy episode in Seinfeld, with guys like Kyle Peko and the likes smacking up against its bouncy but resistant sides to no avail. It actually makes me a bit sad to be honest, this so called bubble.
Love
The Count

National media may be crapping on the broncos ….But FANS ARE NOT !!! and when I say fans I mean all footballfans I watched a YouTube clip from first take that asked whose a bigger threat to the chiefs ….the chargers or the raiders lol they didn’t even consider the bronco’s and in the comments below it was full of raider fans , cowboy fans, chiefs ,and chargers fans and eagles fans saying what about the broncos their quarterback went 4-1 and they have a bunch of weapons, chiefs fans conceading that the bronco’s team on paper looks really scary on both sides of the ball ….. It was refreshing to see . ….
Lastly when you have players Like drew and Phil as representations of your team ? Makes you proud to be a bronco fan I’m certain you guys are going to address the awesome interviews drew did this weekend and Phil did with TD ….. And all I gotta say is WE’RE NOT WINNING A SUPERBOWL WITHOUT PHILLIPLINDSAY ! I hope ELWAY knows and understand he is the heart and undisputed across the board leader of this team ! He is going to be what makes us rise to the occasion in adversity and he needs to be a bronco #PAYTHEMAN ……
Hope you guys had a good weekend!
kirksmith44
Hey guys,
Loved the Jeudy comp conversation on Friday. Went and looked at some comps for him during the draft process and watched some highlights. I think he looks a lot like Robert Woods did at USC. Quick in and out of cuts, electric after the catch but also can beat guys one on one with the deep ball. Let’s just hope we have a plan in place with the coaching staff to get LA Robert Woods and not Buffalo Robert Woods. It’s amazing how much a coaching staff can change the career of a prospect.
Keep up with the great work. I’m a teacher in NY and the only thing that’s the same in my daily routine these days is listening to you guys during a workout. Crazy times but hopefully the end will be soon.
The Vonstars
If the NFL season is played with no or limited fans, do you see this as an advantage or disadvantage for the Broncos? Originally I thought it’d be a disadvantage, due to the quality of opponents the Broncos will be playing at home, but then a friend who is a Raider fan made a good point to me. The broncos have the only inherent home field advantage in the NFL, with the altitude affecting the stamina of the players. What are your thoughts? Does the altitude for 8 games outweigh playing Brady and Brees with no crowd noise?
I just made the move from the California Bay Area to New Jersey, and I was really looking forward to going to the Broncos – Jets game this year, so I really hope it does not come to this

My boys! I hope that you each had a wonderful weekend. I wanted to thank you for the latest installment of the DNVR Broncos Podcast and for addressing my comment and question. It was a joy to listen to the pod while tending to the domestic, suburban, bourgeois duties of lawn care and yard work. In all seriousness, I still marvel at the fact that I can listen to a program that I enjoy in my yard with a handheld device and wireless earbuds. For all of the modern challenges that we face, including the current COVID-19 crisis, if one stops to ponder for a moment, we are blessed by many advances that can bring meaning, joy, knowledge, and a myriad of other things into our lives on a daily basis.
RIP to NFL coaching great Don Shula, who passed away this morning. Shula is still the winningest coach in NFL history. He only had two losing seasons as an NFL head coach. The Miami Dolphins went a remarkable 44-5-1 from 1971 to 1973, while winning three AFC Championships and two Super Bowls in that span under Shula. Shula showed that he was adaptable; an attribute of a great coach. For example, in Super Bowl VIII, Shula’s Dolphins won with their quarterback, Bob Griese, only throwing seven(!) times the entire game. Some eleven years later, Dan Marino would throw for 5,084 yards in a season. Is Shula the greatest NFL head coach of all time? Why or why not? If not, who in your opinion is the greatest NFL head coach?
I leave you with two quotes from Shula, who said, “I never felt I knew it all. I always felt there’s something new to learn, something new to do,” and “I think what coaching is all about, is taking players and analyzing their ability, put them in a position where they can excel within the framework of the team winning. And I hope that I’ve done that in my 33 years as a head coach.”
Have a great week and thanks for helping us be all that we can be in the DNVRMY.

Hey guys just wanted to get your opinion on if you think the broncos will retire von miller’s jersey and if not what a player would have to do to earn that honor with the organization

I’m going with Matthew Stafford. The man literally broke his back for that team and still tried to come back and play. I really wonder what his career could have looked like had he been with a competent organization.

Quick comment. I started following jeudy on Instagram and all he posts on his story is him catching balls from a jugs machine and doing footwork drills. He just never stops working. Probably gonna throw some money down on him being OROY

Oops almost forgot……. What are the odds that Thursday night football chiefs open at home against the Broncos ??? They play @tampa and new Orleans ….. Broncos are the little brother version of them wouldn’t that be the season opener ??

Guys..
I am a little concerned about Phils comments on the Gordon signing.
It seems to me that Elway has now burned Phil twice. Once with the draft and now this signing. I fully expect Phil to refuse any sort of discount on his next contract.
This feels similar to what happened to the Jazz with Gordon Hayward when he left Utah for the Celtics. Utah “offended” him when they let Charlotte make an offer when he was an RFA and waited to match. He wanted the commitment from Utah and when he got the chance bolted because he did not feel like they had any loyalty to him.
I just feel like this is what is going to happen with Phil

Mase is getting salty. The off-season only provides so much high brow material for the football snobbery. Sometimes it’s just fun to talk about things we don’t know. Talk about Jeudy breaking every record on our way to the SB? Sure. Discuss how unstoppable our offense will be this season? Absolutely!! I love Mase and he is by far my favorite Broncos media person. I remember his first videos on Broncos.com. Ah, the good ole days. Just this little bundle of joy at Dove Valley. Now? Mase ain’t playing around. He’s salty. He’s bored with it all. Except uniforms! Find someone that loves you like Mase loves uniforms! Bring on the season!!! We need to feed Mase some football before he completely loses interest.
Question for Mase: How many yards will the running back we draft next year get in the first Raider game in 2022?
Thanks Boys!
