I see there’s already lots of comments, so no stress if this skipped. Personally, I’m still feeling high on Paton. I think he’s played the personnel game this season pretty dang well; he surrounded Vic with “his guys” so that there couldn’t be any excuses that he was hampered by “not being given the proper tools” to run his defense. Fuller is on a one year deal; are there any other notable contracts the Broncos could get out from under after this season?

Also, is it possible for a GM to make decisions about who starts? It looks like Vic is done and we’re entering yet another draft looking for a QB. If this team drops to 3-6 or worse is there a chance Paton could force Drew to start so he can at least get an idea of what he has there?

Well idk about you all but I don’t feel like talking about how bad the broncos are right now, so instead can we talk about Jackson Mahomes dancing on Sean Taylors memorial? Maybe it’s time Patty grounds his wife and brother from phone privileges on game days

You guys do such a good job building optimism during the off-season, which the Broncos destroy during the season, that I think I’m actually starting to prefer the off-season.

If the season continues to fall apart, to what extent to you blow this up? Just Coaching? Coaching and QB? Trade Sutton and/or Von?

PS After Mercury goes out of retrograde, the next event we enter is the retroshade zone which sounds like what this podcast will become will all the shade that will be thrown.

I know it’s too early to be thinking like this but… hiring Brian Daboll and drafting Anthony Richardson from Florida in 23’ sounds like a helluva plan to me.
I think Richardson is comparable to Josh Allen and having Daboll with him would be perfect imo.

Sadly we keep stacking up the losses. Shurmur is holding this offense back. From now on I DO NOT want to see Fant blocking at all. He is a liability blocking and will be more useful as another target for Teddy. No matter how many people you have blocking they get pressure with 4. So at this point they should go 3 wide and have Fant pass catching with a rb chipping. Give Teddy more targets so he has more options. I feel like every time a receiver gets the ball he is facing towards Teddy. They do not get an opportunity to get yards after catch. The only time when they are not facing Teddy is when they go deep. Even then most of the time the ball is under thrown so they can’t get yard after catch. Am I crazy or do you guys notice this?

Just expanding on yesterdays comment regarding the Bowlens. Fully aware they intend to sort things out after the season, but i fear it drags on into march/april and a new owner has a short time to change things, which means another season of being irrelevent, angry fans and average QB play! A pick in the teens at the draft doesnt secure a young QB, its harder to trade for quality players, basically the same situation as the last 5 years…..its just so frustrating, cheers.

to the point that i made yesterday about munchak deserving more critcism, i found this interesting.

so the raiders played the bears the week prior to the broncos. germain ifedi gets injured midway through the game. elijah wilkinson comes into the game at right tackle and holds maxx crosby to 0 combined pressures- no sacks, no hits, no qb pressures.

i know more goes into the offensive line play than just the lineman themselves but considering what crosby did to the broncos, it makes you wonder. what do y’all think?

Hey guys Long time no comment. Hope all is well. After Yesterday I CANNOT Watch this team anymore. I might have to wear a blindfold on Thursday just to get through the game. The Broncos have had a lot of injuries these past few years. I remember when Kubiak was our coach and he would give guys rest days and give guys more days to recover. Does Vic do anything like this….? I am just wondering why is there double the amount of Injuries then there normally is for this team. If you could shed some light on this topic “why Injuries are up” and can you pin any of that reasoning on the coaches sceme or lack of days off, etc. Thanks.

Hey guys, I feel like the misery of 2021 is bringing a lot of old commenters out of the wood work – I’ll add to that pile with another “long time no comment”…

I feel like this is exactly who we thought the team would be at this point, especially after Vic went with Teddy. There was a ton of optimism through preseason for both QBs and absolutely the first three weeks (Did Drew turn the corner? Steady Teddy ready to blossom?), but this stretch was always the elephant in the room. Shurmur’s offense is exactly as advertised. Its uninventive, boring, and just kills momentum any momentum the team builds in an instant. We saw that last year and we’re seeing it again this year. I personally think Drew is the better QB, but it’s not that much. And it certainly wouldn’t matter with an offense out of 2007.

All that said – no one is going anywhere until at least the bye week IMO, unless they loose to DC (which would be like the Bowl of Franchise Train Wrecks) and at that point I think it could be a clean sweep of the OC, HC, DC. Take the bye to regroup and head into the final stretch with an eye on the draft and literally ANYONE under 50 to run the offense and bring some energy back to the sideline.

My boys! I legit had no idea what “Mercury in retrograde” meant before you fellas discussed it, but if we can get the dub this week, I’m on board! However, I’m mentally preparing for another beatdown this week. The game in Pittsburgh was just so frustrating, I’m afraid to be hopeful again. The vibe amongst Browns fans here in Ohio is not great – they think we are going to handle them, but I just refuse to believe it. I’m driving up to the game Thursday with my dad (who’s also a Browns fan), and I’m hoping we can steal a game this week. Still undefeated outside of Retrograde!!

How do we feel about Staley going for it on 4th and 3 from his own 19 in the second quarter? I loved that we went for it even from our own 39. We are terrible at third downs but great on fourth down, and isn’t it time to coach and play desperate? The season (and many jobs) is hanging in the balance.

My boys! Couple quick questions/thoughts.

I remember a couple years ago being concerned about the SB holdovers and then our young guys at the time, Court, Phil, Justin, etc, and whether or not the losing culture would taint the young dudes.

Are we already to that point with guys like Jeudy, Javonte, PS2, etc? If not, when, and do you think they can be saved?
Where is the upside with this team for the future, or is there upside even?
