Hey Guys, I’m excited for tomorrow when my charity flag football program will have its kickoff party at Stoney’s Bar and Grill starting at 6PM, hope to see the DNVR Fam there. I thought I would comment today about my “where were you when Wilson was traded story.” So that day I had work later in the afternoon and my wife and I had an ultrasound appointment for our little dude that’s due in September. I was doing what I could to be a good Husband and focused on getting us to the appointment on time, so I didn’t look at my phone all morning. As we were parking and walking up to the clinic I got a notification from a friend and old co-worker that is a Packers fan and weirdly a Chargers fan too. It was the ESPN post showing that Russ had been traded to the Broncos. My eyes widened intensely, but I did not want my wife to think I was more excited about the Broncos news than our baby. So I kept it all in for our long appointment and drive home. The little guy is doing great, I quickly dropped off my wife off and as I was driving to work I started freaking out and turned on the podcast ASAP! I just got my Wilson Jersey in the mail this week and I’m ready to ride. Keep up the great stuff guys and DNVR Fam, hope to see you at the Denver Rivalz party!!

Can you break down your process and what you pay attention to when analytically watching NFL games? “The Athletic” recently put out an article about how to become a better student of the game, and I’d like to know what details you pick up that fans like me at home on the couch can learn to observe.

I just wanted to re-iterate something that I think RK said the other day that I don’t believe gets talked about enough. I don’t think people understand how big of a star Nathaniel Hackett is going to become if the Broncos become a winning team again. His personality is just SO different and I think it’s a rarity not just in the NFL but in pro sports to have a coach so comfortable with himself to come off as almost silly. Watching him goofing off with Tom Pelissero mirroring each others movements in the NFL Network interview and joking with George Paton and channeling Ron Burgundy in his mic’d up videos really makes me think that he may be almost just as big of a factor as Russ in changing the national perception of the Broncos once he gets more exposure in the national media.

We’ve been one of the most uninteresting teams in the league for nearly a decade and now we not only have the on-field tools to be legitimately explosive, but we have a leader that is entertaining and fun to watch in his own right. I think if things go according to plan, then Nathaniel Hackett is gonna help make Broncos Country a whole lot bigger with his loveable Ted Lasso type vibes.

Also I’m legitimately worried for the wellbeing of Nik Bonitto’s career if he’s wearing 42. Someone needs to get in his ear about that, it’s not too late to change!

Wilson jersey just arrived! The one thing I must say that I miss is the sewn on patches. Last time I bought a jersey, it was Peyton’s in 2013ish. Now they name and numbers are just part of the jersey (if that makes sense), and even more expensive!

Anyways, I wanted to know if you guys think the NFL will require Walton to have a succession plan for (sadly) when he passes. Knowing what the team and the league just went through with the Bowlen’s, do you think they will require this?
