Zac I’m with you here on the ice cream cake debate 75! Perfect of the way Carvel is the undisputed champ in that realm, but ice cream cake as a whole is the best and only cake option for me.

Damn you Ryan. Trying to lose weight and you had to mention the Georgia mud fudge. Now I have to go get one. someone mentioned oatmeal. Next time you make some instant oatmeal microwave it with a spoon full of peanut butter, then mix some Splenda in. Yum good. Now for my question do you see a draft where the Broncos take Laviska over Ruggs if they are both there at 15? Also if your answer is they take Ruggs, would it be a mistake to trade back into the first to get Laviska also?

Can’t wait to see your Mock Draft Mase! Dre’s was interesting and I love the idea of taking Whirfs, but I don’t see him dropping that far. To me, it’s all about Jordan Love. Did you see enough from him at the Senior Bowl to go top 14 (Colts?) and push someone down to us?

Also, can you remind me of the 75! story?

Zac – I’m with you 100%. Mahomes and the Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC for the next decade. He completely passes the eye test and has all the right tools. Andy Reid has won double digit games every year since coming to KC and now he has the leagues best QB. With that being said, I’m all aboard the Lock train and I Iove the coaching staff in place. The Broncos will absolutely compete for the playoffs the entire time too.

I recently joined the DNVR family during a 5 month long work trip in Switzerland. I spent the majority of my free time by myself, as I didn’t speak the language and didn’t know many people. But I listened to every one of your podcasts and they made me feel that much closer to home. I’ve been hooked ever since.

No question for me today but I want to send a shout out to all the Broncos fans in Europe. The late afternoon games air at 1am Monday. Needless to say, Mondays were rough.

And, of course, a special shout out to the three best podders in the biz: Mase (the human computer), RK (the homie), and Skip.

Much love guys, and happy to be part of the family.

Anyone know where I can find this porridge? Idk what grool is, but I’m all about thiccer cousins ?
Also since the closed topic has been reopened, Clif bars can be eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sure they’re not themselves a meal, but I can make the same argument about PB&J.
Zac you were right against the argument you were telling RK and Mase they were giving, but all they were saying is a large chunk of Brady’s success is due to non-skill factors such as the system, him taking a pay cut, and the incompetence of his division rivals. There are other QBs with better arm strength, mobility, ability to read defenses, etc.
I’m sure there will be many comments today so an easy question for you: who do yall think will be QB at LV and LAC next season? Thanks y’all and by the time you’re reading this the Niners have already won ?

Sliced bread ! Sliced bread ? Whatever sub kept mentioning sliced bread (and this goes for all you other phrase slingers) needs to understand that sliced Freaking bread is a hoax. Just Buy a bread knife and cut it yourself. Why would you pay someone else a premium to slice your own bread. It’s very, very easy.

And not only that, if you cut it yourself you get to adjust the thickness based on what type of sando you are making. The thickness of a slice of bread can make or break a lunch.

Am I wrong?

Hello, gentlemen. Haven’t commented in a while. 2 things:
1. You all don’t know how vindicating it was to have the great Andrew Mason echo my points about Mahomes, the money, and the Chiefs on the pod. I’ve been trying to knock some sense into these Chiefs “fans” (bandwagons) with these same points since October 2018. RK and Mase are correct on this one. Still love Zach!

2. On Apple Podcasts, it shows an incorrect picture of Mase as a guest, and it also has Pat Shurmur as a “guest” of the podcast! Just thought you guys would like to know if you can control those things. Thought it was funny. 🙂

1. I feel like RK (and others) can’t get their head around the projection part. Zac (me and others) isn’t saying it WILL happen, we’re saying it’s his projection. All arguments against Zac’s point makes examples with other teams and quarterbacks and I repeat, You can’t compare Patrick Mahomes PROJECTION with ANYTHING that has happened before because he is projected to be the best and most productive quarterback ever, EVER. That doesn’t mean he will win Super Bowls, most likely means he’ll dominate the regular season though.
2. As a fan I want the truth, I do not like the team biased sites which doesn’t tell the truth. Mase knows everything about not being able to write what’s in front of one’s eyes.
4. I’d really like to expand my cooking game and you got anything else except Green Chili that’s quality Colorado food I could try making? Any good American recipe site with Coloradoan recipes?
5. Increasing speed when listening doesn’t really sound distorted, you just talk faster. So more of a person to person discussion pace. And the intro song is platinum selling quality when upbeat.

Hey friends. San Fran 42, Kansas City 41. #17 plays like T.O. in Philly’s McNabb SB and has 3 TDs and finally wins a ring. Emmanual Sanders is my MVP.

February 1, 2020

31- 21 Niners. I just think San Frans defense does enough to shutdown this prolific offense with two weeks to prep. Additionally, I can’t help but think Elway is gonna go defense with the first round pick. Best way to beat the Chiefs? Pressure pressure pressure. Elway picks Kinlaw or Epenesa. Just my feeling. Go Broncos, and this week only GO NINERS.

I’ll throw $100 on that score prediction and add a prop bet. Boss hits Mahones so hard he knocks the crap out of him, literally. Mahones craps his pants, forever derailing Zac’s future GOAT rants, and Minshew parachutes in wearing a chiefs jersey and jean shorts to lead a near comeback but falls short. Over/under is 7 minutes into the second half for the pants soiling.

Long 2 part comment coming at ya, sorry in advance.

Mr Mason, my heart goes out to you for your family’s loss this week, sorry I didn’t comment earlier. I lost my dog of 14 years not too long ago and it was hands down the hardest emotional event of my life to date. She went everywhere with me except overseas and survived everything with me like a champ to include two crazy exes and being struck by lightning with me on pikes peak and never once judging me for what I brought home from the bar! It took three of my friends to scrape me up off the floor when she went to sleep. My heart goes out to your family man.

Now back to foosball! Supporting Larrydennjr’s comment from the other day about Shurmur’s system not helping linemen, he likes to get his weapons downfield. The power scheme will bode well for that mystery right tackle of ours, McGovern, and Risner is talented enough to play anything, Gumballs is about to be in the hurt locker. His performance down the stretch this year was largely system based and he needs TE help, chips, and a moving pocket to succeed.

My prediction is we see a two year install of Shurmur’s offense; he’s a great QB developer and knows an abrupt change will disrupt development and Munchak will likely insist of some Zone and WCO schemes to help Bolles. Next year we can get the right players to fully transition and the one year lag In removing his beloved concepts will appease Mr Elway…..thoughts?

Hey guys,

Zac “OPEN your EYE’s” this love of Patrick is getting so old. I have listened to this podcast a little over a year and have listened to every podcast since I found you guys. However, today was the first time I shut the pod off early. I know you will do what you want but in my opinion, this is getting extremely old.

On a lighter note, speaking of getting teared up. When I found out Atwater made the HOF, I got teared up a little with how happy I am for him. From listing to Atwater on Orange & Blue he has more integrity than most people in this world.

So hopefully next week lots of talk about Broncos and this wonderful news for Atwater. Now hopefully Zac can come back to Colorado and get back to talking Broncos and not the Cheifs.

Keep up the great works guys and thank you for the time you commit.

Zac is coming around to where I was at the end of the season. Drew Lock is the guy for next season, but it will be an uphill battle for him to succeed in this division against Mahomes and the Chiefs.

If 3 is for Mr. B, and 7 is for Elway, when are we going to get a comment long enough to retire 27 for Atwater?

February 2, 2020

Hey love you guys! I love that this podcast is here for me through the offseason. When the Broncos are not in the playoffs or competing for a super bowl, the offseason is my favorite part of the NFL. I been following Mase for a long time and for some reason or another didn’t get turned on to this podcast until recently. Very glad I did, you guys are all full of great knowledge of the game. Your views, banter and debates have become something I now crave.

With a few years now of just really mediocre o-line play. Wouldn’t it be beneficial to go heavy on that aspect in the draft and in FA? I get wanting a burner at WR and adding pieces to keep up with the chiefs but if we can’t protect our QB its all for not. Also I think our best chance to keep up with the chiefs is with our Defense not by trying to score 30+ points of Offense.
What are your thoughts?

Also my new favorite way to win any debate or argument is by using Zac’s “Mahommes” debate strategy.
If my boss gives me grief at work I just tell him

“look, I’m not saying that I AM the best ever at my job or that someone else can’t be better than me, im just saying that I’m projected to be on pace to be the best employee this company ever had 10 years from now.”

You can use that type of argument to win a lot of debates. I call it the Zac attack. Lol

Y’all need to chill the phucket out on Zac for his take on Mahommes.

Why wouldn’t you want a “great evil foe” in the story of the Broncos? The chiefs being potentially historically good puts takes the narrative to a new place. Which is why you are here….this is all a big story you’re enjoying.

In Australia we love the underdogs. We want insurmountable odds. We want David vs Goliath. I don’t think that’s unique to our country, but perhaps more prevalent in our culture.

Mahommes is good. He is really good. The chiefs are really good.

Being the best of the bad bunch sustains mediocrity. And it’s boring. Boo.

It’ll feel reallllllllllly good when we drop them……it’ll feel incredible.

…… just might need to wait 10 years (Queue irrational pile on)

(Just realised the super bowl has now happened by the time this is read – predicting Bosa with a strip sack fumble TD in the first half)

Two things:
S/O to the DNVR customer service. I had a hiccup in my free t-shirt code and sent you guys an email. Within 5 minutes my email was responded to and my problem was solved so good on you guys for having great customer service.

Second, the Smiling Assassin in the HOF. Being in my early twenties I don’t remember watching Steve Atwater live but over my fifteen or so years of football I have heard so much about him. Watching highlight videos of him definitely makes me wish I had seen the old days of the NFL when you could hit somebody. Being a Athletic Trainer I don’t like seeing players get hurt, but you’re signing up to play football, you should expect to get hit. And hit hard at that!

Sad to hear no double Broncos Hall of Famers with John Lynch and Steve Atwater, next year John.

Hope it was a good weekend gents.

February 2, 2020

Hey guys. First I’d like to apologize for coming off offended in my previous comment from Friday. I’m not offended and obviously you read that story off the internet or something, anyways, so it’s all good my dudes.

1. I’m all in favor of drafting Laviska in the first round because of one thing only. To me, when I watch him play, I see a player who is always making highlight plays, always making scoring, momentum shifting plays that WILL kill the spirit of another team at the professional level. There’s no other way of saying it. Courtland and Viska would be a feared tandem that can and will compete with the best of them.

2. I have no problem with taking developmental tackles in later rounds. At this point, if Munchak says the word, it’s law. Go for a premium O line guy next year, grab Viska and center of your choice in the first 2 rounds, and start building depth in the rest of the draft. Don’t over complicate things.

3. Mr B

4. Give me a d line free agent THIS YEAR. Pay the man, get him on the squad, resign Derek Wolfe, and draft someone underneath that Fangio likes. I believe this would make for an exceptional rotation of players and would make our defensive front into one that can get to Mahomes and keep of defense strong in games.

If everything here happened, would we be capable of a 12-win season? If Lindsay only just manages to break 1000 yards again next season, do you see the Broncos making a move for a veteran free agent who has proven themselves, drafting a guy they like better, or sticking with Lindsay?

Have a great day you guys, and sorry about the book.

First, foremost, and most importantly, Congratulations to Steve Atwater on being a hall of famer, well deserved and long overdue.

Now, onto the Super Bowl. I’m sick to my stomach. The Niners choked and the Chiefs made plays when they needed to. Only after they were handed momentum in one of the worst officiated Super Bowls I have ever seen. How does Bill Vinovich get to officiate a Super Bowl after what he did to the Saints last year? The man is the worst ref in professional sports and I have no clue how he is employed by anyone other than McDonald’s. Just absymal officiating that tainted a rather good game. The NFL has to figure something out with their referees because it is ruining the game. And they should start by kicking Vinovich to the curb!

Ending on a positive note, what is your favorite Steve Atwater story, play or memory from his playing days? It might be generic, but mine is obviously him lighting up Christian Okoye! Also love the play where he knocked 3 guys, including himself, out on one hit!

Thanks guys! And keep up the great work! Working in the mental health field, there are so many days that are depressing as hell, but I always have this podcast to cheer me up!

Well, this one is tough. Not only do the Chiefs bring one home, but they do it in the most painful way possible; falling behind only to come back in epic fashion and steal the victory. It’s irritating getting your hopes up just to watch it all fall apart again and again. It felt like destiny for them this year, but with Mahomes, I’m hoping it doesn’t feel like this every year. These are dark times, but having a community like this to grieve with makes it a little easier. Let’s just power through the next couple weeks and make it to optimism season. Eyes on 55

I feel like I am in a nightmare that I cannot escape. lol. I definitely had a few cold ones after I had to watch the Chiefs comeback for the third time in a row in the playoffs. It was like watching a movie you knew the ending to three times in row. I would have much rather seen Brady get a 7th ring than Mahomes getting his first. With Chris Jones as good as back with KC after his comments after the SB, do you think that Derek Wolfe becomes more of a priority? Also, do you think Elway tries to make his own version of what he just witnessed? That’s what he did after SB 48 and he actually made a better version. Maybe he can make a better version of the Chiefs. I kid, but one can only hope.

Well that sucked, but lemme recycle an old VJ quote- ‘small focus with big picture awareness’

1) Clark Hunt originally said that they could look to push Mahomes’ extension into 2021. Zero chance that happens with him winning SB MVP.

2) Bashaud Breeland and Kendall Fuller are both free agents. Neither are world-beaters, but will likely be overvalued because of their two picks and KC’s DB depth takes a hit in a big way next year.

3) Mr B

4) Spagnuolo’s defenses have always bottomed out the year after they have success.

5) We get spared an entire offseason of ‘the Broncos made the biggest mistake of all time by passing over Kyle Shanahan’. Nah. I’m good luv, enjoy.

Any time I commented, I was under the guise of “KrazieManiak,” but I have changed my handle to a nickname my high school art teacher gave me when I was in a slump of a time. It was always “Hey Captain! How are you doing, today?” or something along those lines. I mention this because… Boy, am I (or should I say we are) in a slump now. living in the KCMO area is gonna be slightly rough this off-season. I am already being hit with the “Hey, how about those chiefs??!” comments at work. It’s only 7am local time.

February 3, 2020

Alright, let’s do a Dove Valley Two Step on this not-so-Super Bowl.

1) We have the 49ers 3rd and 4th rounders, and now those picks will both be one spot higher than Kansas City, so we’ve got a shot at robbing the Chiefs from getting some guys they want.

2) Teams typically have a lull year following a Super Bowl win. Maybe the Broncos can bite at that lull and steal one or both games against KC next year?

3) For Pat…and Drew?

4) If Lock can develop to be as good as someone like Deshaun Watson, which I think he will, we could have a truly historic rivalry on our hands. As a big Avs fan who still loves seeing the Red Wings suck.. I’ve already got quite a distaste for Red.

5) Mahomes didn’t do anything in this game that Lock isn’t capable of. Honestly, I can’t think of anything in the whole playoffs that Mahomes did that Lock couldn’t do. I don’t know that anything good can be extrapolated from that point… but it still feels good.

6) If Drew Lock doesn’t become a top 10 QB, we could be in for a tough decade. Zac, you’re not allowed to comment on this point.

7) For John

8) Whatever the next couple years hold, whether the Chiefs Red Scare bulldozes its way to 5 consecutive Super Bowls, or we see some awesome Lock-Mahomes AFC Championships, I’ll be riding with y’all the whole way.

And that is my Super Monday Dove Valley Two Step. Enjoy.

( Unlike the super lost raiders arr gonna raider trynna get declining brady raiders ) we are building this team to wij championship from now on and shelby doesn’t deserve premium money cuz he hasn’t bought in FOH !!! ……with that said how do you feel about passing on ruggs ….. And grabbing Kinlaw and Cushenberry to start .. and maybe getting some speed with denzel Mimms in the 3rd ??? Two premiums on both sides of the trenches and still get some speed at wr what you think fellas ? P.s. how did nick bosa get Droy and Bradley chunb didnt lol ….. Two things

1 – Congrats to Steve, well deserved and long overdue.

2 – Can someone explain to me the boneheaded clock management before the end of the first half? I just saw an interview with Kyle after the game. His explanation – We were OK being tied going into the half and didn’t want to give them the ball back because they had three timeouts left. In other words, he could have called a timeout before the punt and his team would have had over a minute and a half to try and put points on the board, and he thought “Nah, it’s just the Chiefs, we’re good with a tie.” Is this where Stangs got his “Let’s just take a knee and see what happens in overtime.”? He showed no trust in his team and it bit him in the butt. I knew the game was over then. If that’s how he manages a game, he’ll never win a Lombardi…

Well that sucked. It just was the Chiefs’ time I guess with 3 straight postseason comebacks. They weren’t going to be denied.
This game did show something to the Broncos front office. Dominant front four play is THE key to beating great QBs. The 49ers had the chiefs number for 3-1/2 quarters and even hit Mahomes on the game changing 3rd and 15 throw to a grotesquely wide open Hill. The game Reminded me of when the Giants beat the undefeated Patriots in the SB, except the 9ers couldn’t finish. If we want to compete with the Chiefs then D Line has to be the strength of our team. Not saying neglect everything else, but we have to be bullies up front. It allows you to do so much when you get that kind of push up the middle AND around the edge with only 4 guys. I wouldn’t be mad at going DL in first round and then another on day 2 somewhere.

PigTosser66

PigTosser66

Oh and the irony is somewhat amusing that Sanders wanted out because our QB sucked and didn’t get him the ball and then his new “franchise” QB overthrows him by 5 yards when he has a step and is primed to haul in the go ahead touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Now that the Chief are SB Camps we have to look at this through the Broncos lens ( for my own sanity). Yeah it’s not ideal but, now they have the lowest possible draft position. All of their free agents are now more expensive. And can you imagine what Mahomes will cost!

This is how parody is created and its time to Lock it in. The Broncos are on the incline. We are At least 75 % of the way there!
