Hi Ryan, Zac, Mase, q for you guys for the pod: is it not a major weakness of the Shanahan offense that the run game depends so much on the tight end or FB. 49ers run game has tanked while Kittle has been out, and our whole offense takes a kit without Jano. Could this also be the reason why Scangs is persisting with trying to get Fant to be a Jano level blocker and a runner?

Ps I’m British and have been a fan of the Broncos since watching them lose the SB to the Doug Williams led Redskins! Love the pod, all the content and really, REALLY want some strawberry sky. Will have to make do with some lovely Scottish single malts!

Will Fangio get more power in the future? You guys have hinted that the head coach disagrees with Elway’s fixation to west coast offense. Shouldn’t a coach pick schemes on a team over the GM?

Hey guys just wanted to clarify real quick that I agree with you there’s no reason to not start Lock (and hasn’t been one to keep him from practicing either). What I was trying to say is that it seems at this point they’re not that interested in seeing what lock has this year.

Given that, the only two conclusions from there seem to be they’ve either given up on him or have decided to go with him for next season. I believe that it’s more likely they’ve internally decided next year is Lock’s chance to prove it. I still have no idea why they’re hesitating with him though.

Hey guys – I always miss the question of the week. Is that posted somewhere else or something?

And I don’t think I could ever not root for the Broncos to win. I am nowhere near “switching between the Broncos and RedZone” as another commenter mentioned. It’s been a frustrating year but when the Broncos are on, nothing else matters for 3-hours.

The Broncos really weren’t that great from after Elway to before Manning and they were still my team. I also don’t think that makes me a “real” fan or more of a fan than others. It’s weird to me that people gatekeep fandom like it’s an exclusive club or an elite tier. It seems l like long-time fans think that a bandwagon fan somehow gets un-earned joy since they hopped on when a team is doing well but in reality, they aren’t actually taking anything from your enjoyment. To me, more Broncos fans means more people to high-five during the game. What are your guys’ thoughts on “real” “fake” and “bandwagon” fans?

I know I’m behind on this comment, but just wanted to put my 2 cents in on Phil Rivers.

I just turned 23 this week, my LeBron year as I call it cuz LeBron is GOAT not Jordan. Anyways, my whole childhood the chargers were good, as Mase will know I think they won the AFC West from 06-09 consecutively? Sandwiched by Denver in 05 and KC in 10 I think. But i always hated Phil. In 2015 week 17 in Denver they came into mile high as Denver was tryna get that number 1 seed with the pats losing to Miami that day, and Denver is up in 3rd qtr I believe and that vaunted defense had a blown converge the chargers scored a 80 or 75 1 play drive Td depending on the touchback rule at the time. Anyways Phil ran up the field and was screaming with joy, he got in TJ Ward’s face and was just giving him the business, since that day I was like he’s pretty cool and always liked him other than when he played Denver. I was at that game and close to the field and could hear his high pitched voice as it was pretty much silent in the stadium after that TD. It was pretty cool and I’ll always remember it till the day I die. Sorry about the long comment but I think it’s a decent story.

Hey boys. I listened to McChesney Unchained to get ready for this one. It was interesting to listen to CU’s head coach. 🙂 It’s now 11:43PM MST, I love this pod! I remember John Forcade’s time very well. His best year in the NFL was 1989. He, like John Elway with the Broncs, was a lot of fun to watch play for the Aint’s. Mase previously talked about where exactly the border is between Broncos Country and Chiefs Kingdom. I say Hays, Kansas. I have a friend there who says his neighborhood is almost perfectly split! Do you guys think the Broncos have the largest geographical fan base? Many maps say so…cheers!

I feel like Richard in Tommy Boy as he sits in that sales call and watches as Tommy(John Elway) destroys and burns that poor model car(The Broncos) in a failed attempt to sell some dang brake pads… Just let the man on the field and see what he’s got! Ok guys, I can’t take this debate of take a QB in the 20 class. This is the worst idea, I’d rather put lock out there knowing he’s a bust vs. wasting a pick on this class. You play in the NFL to win a super bowl, not to have a flashy record. The QB we would get in this class will never be an elite player. Let’s face it 0 chance we get burrow. Tua has ALWAYS been injury prone even prior to this injury. Herbert is the definition of mediocre, when it comes to today’s nfl. I’m cool off of Flacco 2.0, so much if that’s are guy, I’ll still be a fan but I won’t watch a single snap until he’s off this roster. Eason would be the only player that gives me hope, but not willing to take this risk. Lastly do we trust our coaches to make the proper adjustments for hurts?

Hey guys. Glad to join the DNVR community. My first comment will be a non-germane story about how I became a Broncos fan. The year was 1993. I knew two things about football. 1. I should probably be a Cowboys fan. 2. The Great Barry Sanders played for the Lions. After countless attempts at defeating my brother at Tecmo Super Bowl (yeah) with these teams…I picked a random team called the Denver Broncos. I finally won! That Sunday I HAD TO watch this team and see what they were all about. I was introduced to the great John Elway that day and an affection for the orange and blue began that day that runs deep. This team can go 14-2 or 2-14 and I’ll watch every minute of it. I’ve been a die-hard since that day and for me…the Texas Panhandle is Broncos country. Been listening for a while and decided y’all have earned that membership cost, plus some. I consider myself quite the Broncos trivia buff, but my knowledge admittedly falls short of that of the great Andrew Mason. This is why I used code “Mase.” Sorry for the long-winded comment. Excited to be on board. Go Broncos and can we PLEASE see some Drew Lock soon!?!
