With all of the discussion around Denver looking to save money by possibly cutting Kareem Jackson or resigning Von for a discount, what do you think about reworking the contract for Ja’Wuan James? He has a huge cap number this year and there isn’t a clear successor if they want to move on from him. Plus, he’s only a year older than Justin Simmons. A restructure would add around $6m in cap space for Denver this year according to Spotrac. They could even tie some of his money to incentives for games played or Pro Bowls in order to add some extra motivation.

What limits elite QBs to the top 5 really? If there are 8 QBs throwing 40+ touchdowns with less than then 7 interceptions with I’d say we have 8 elite QBs. In my opinion Elite doesn’t really have anything to do with how good you are COMPARED with others but only how good YOU are.

I’m certain Dak will be worth his money, even if he’s the 6th or 7th best QB.

i’ve spoken to y’all in the past about why the broncos should ‘buy low’ on sutton and extend him this offseason. i understand that there’s a regime chance with paton taking over but i’ve noticed that he’s been particularly interested in sutton ever since he got the job.

in early january he was spotted watching sutton rehab from his injury. the other day he gave an interview with phil milani and said that it ‘made his day’ seeing sutton run routes.

and in that behind the broncos video last night paton was shown praising sutton when watching his film vs the vikings. and even though his son asked for a jeudy jersey (and he probably still got a jeudy one) paton was shown getting him a sutton one instead.

so it definitely seems like there’s some smoke to the fire here. of course paton has an interest in all of his players and sutton is a star player but i find it interesting that he’s publicly showing extra attention to sutton’s recovery process. what do y’all think?

RK if you are in today hope you had a great birthday man. Got some golf planned out here in Cali for mine on Friday then gonna hit Big Bear on Saturday so I’m pretty stoked. Glad they still let me do my two favorite things.
The more I watch and read about Trey Lance, the more I wouldn’t mine seeing him in Orange and Blue. His athletic traits are off the charts obviously, but hearing that he is extremely smart and remembers/recalls info and processes things quickly is giving me this bad feeling that we are going to be missing out on something great. I wanted to get your thoughts on something. People are saying he isn’t a fit in Denver with Shurmur. But our QB coach Mike Shula was the Panthers OC when Cam demolished the league in his 2015 season (before a certain team demolished him I have to add). If Shurmur and Shula share similar philosophies, would Lance be someone they could both like?

Sorry quick double up. Dak is for sure Tier 2. But Tier 2 guys are almost as hard to find as Tier 1 guys and therefore are almost as valuable to NFL teams. Tier 2 and Tier 1 will be paid about the same.

Has anyone brought up the idea of bringing in FA LB Jayon Brown from the Titans? On the smaller side, but great speed and an upgrade in coverage. Happy belated birthday RK!
