Some People Call Me The Space Cowboy
Gentlemen, after 5 years, you finally got me. After free loading since March 2016! (Back in the Brandon Krisztal and RK days) I’ve been given a subscription by my wife for my birthday today. I’m so excited to join the DNVR family and get to chat with you all.
As a broncos fan from Southern California, I’ve never been able to get together and talk broncos with people.
My dad’s family is from Colorado. It’s known as the city of Hero’s and the Steel City. Never heard of those nicknames, but do you guys know which Colorado city this is?
I have been rooting for the Broncos since I watched an vhs tv copy of Super Bowl 32 with my dad and fell in love with my dads favorite team. (Anyone else remember the Tobasco Mosquito commercial??)
I can’t wait to go on this journey with you all!
Casper
Fellas,
If you trade Fant then sign Kyle Rudolph to help until you can get another one letter on.
How say you?

Hey guys! A couple of weeks ago Mase mentioned how the late Vincent Jackson was one of the greatest Colorado High School athletes to ever make it to the NFL. It got me thinking, who would you place on the Mount Rushmore of Colorado high school football players? In addition to Jackson here’s a list of nominees to consider: Byron Whizzer White, Christian McCaffrey, Dalton Risner, Phillip Lindsay, Tony Boselli, Tom Rouen, Dave Logan and Jack Christiensen.
The best I ever played with was Dirk Johnson. He was an exceptional athlete who once broke 10 tackles on a play and afterwards our coach yelled at us, “You guys have to block one guy, because Dirk can’t break all the tackles!” Imagine my surprise when I saw him on TV during Super Bowl XXXIX standing next to Donovan McNabb and looking like a punter. Lol
Btw, in case people don’t know who Jack Christensen is, here’s a quick bio. (TLDR, He was a HOF player who overcame being an orphan and a gunshot wound). Enshrined in Canton, he attended the Odd Fellows Orphanage High School in Canon City after losing his parents at a young age. He won a championship with the Detroit Lions in the 50’s playing alongside Bobby Layne and Doak Walker. He was a talented defensive back who intercepted 46 passes in his career and returned 8 punts for touchdowns. His athletic career was nearly cut short his senior year in high school when he was shot in the elbow by the Chief of Police after moving a bike rack into the middle of the street as a prank. What a fascinating character!

Great pod fellas – definitely miss seeing and hearing Nicki cover the Broncos so that was awesome. But I got a bone to pick. What kind of bullshit mission are you sending us on with your little Face the Mase and get Disgraced game you got going on. Ha ha ha very funny. The Miracle on Ice would have nothing on what one of us taking down Mase would be. I liken it to me beating MJ in a game of one on one, or getting a base hit off of Randy Johnson, or beating Pete Sampras at Wimbledon, or my DNVR brother who said he would take Von’s spot getting a sack on Mahomes. The only way Mase doesn’t mop the floor with whoever he is up against is if you guys make him put on one of those helmets he has in his office without the good padding and make him run head first into a tree and he gets concussed. Or make him beer bong a sixer of Breck Brews 15 minutes beforehand. Oh yeah and even then you’d still have to give us the damn internet!! Dude is an absolute machine. At least with Tyson on Punch Out or Bowser you knew you had a chance to win. This can only be described as hopeless. But in all seriousness I’m loving the three-ring circus and new Friday pod. Just awesome. And for what it’s worth, Zac and RK you guys are legit but I think I could hang with you fellas on trivia if I ever get on. Just sayin’. Later boys.

Haven’t commented in a while, but good to drop by again!
If the Broncos hang on to the 9th pick in the draft, what are the odds that they will select a player who ends up with a better career than Jerry Jeudy, their pick from last year at #15 overall? Personally, I would say 30%. Jeudy was a steal and I don’t love the players in the range where Denver will select, especially at the positions of need. But enough of what I think, what do you guys think?

Fellas, I’m wondering about the tender options for the Broncos. From the Broncos perspective why wouldn’t they? Is there a downside to slapping a tender on them?
Seems like a win/win. You either keep the player or get a draft pick. I guess the only downside would be just player relations or cost?
Also really enjoyed Fridays show. Thank you guys!

How do you get on the Redzone?

What’s up guys! I spent some time this weekend watching clips of Von and Chubb from the 18-19 season, and OH MAN were they awesome. I’m really hoping they are able to bring Von back and keep him for another few years. If not I feel like we’ll have been robbed of the opportunity to watch them dominate in Fangio’s defense. For my question, do you think the lack of turnovers the last 2 years have been more due to the lack of pass rush or due to the lack of consistent pass coverage? I know that there is usually a strong correlation between those 2 phases and that it isn’t as simple as “the lack of pass rush is the reason”, but I’d love to know which you think has been the more consistent problem! Also just wanted to say I love the three ring circus show and the guests you have brought in! Would love to see Allbright, Ryan Edwards, or Steve Atwater on at some point too. Thanks as always!

Hope I don’t go too long lol….. But it’s Monday !!!??♂️
Another Fire ? three rings ! Like geesh I miss Nicki but glad she’s doing awesome with Washington ….and Boom !!! Ryan was right ! No way should Alex be the starter here like geesh Mase and Zac ….
First ! I’m loving Jerry Jeudys work ethic and approach to the off season I hope he and drew can get some work in soon ….however I am ?? daily for him idk who advises him but dude ur a SUPERSTAR in the making !!!! Somebody needs to make sure he has security because it bothers me he keeps giving up his location of where’s he’s going to be that’s not the safest thing to do hope he has security ??
So I’m team trade down I want that more then anything but I’m curious what do you guys feel more secure about drew not working out and drafting a qb next year ….or taking a risky option in Trey Lance or Mac Jones and having patience with them which makes you more secure doing ?
Idk I keep thinking about Ian Rapport words to Pat McAfee podcast ” what if how drew lock played the last 4 weeks of the season he does for 16 games but you trade him then what ” ????
Because I watched Tim Jenkins elite film breakdown on Drew’s progession throughout the season and it’s brilliant he points out drew growing comfort in the system as the year progressed and I’m not ready to throw in the towel for Trey Lance I just don’t see it ..in Lance ??♂️
Lastly Mase !!!! Looking forward to your input on how you make the Kyle Pitts pick work for this team if you take him at 9 lol …I’m sooo not on board for this but I love to see how you think it would work !

I really don’t understand why you and much of Broncos Country are so keen to get rid of Von at this point. If you do get hesitant to give an extension, then the club option is a smart way to go. See how he responds after injury. It’s only about the 18M in salary, as the 4M in signing bonus hits either way. As we have a cost control QB, we can absorb a high priced Edge. My apologies to Swedish as he will hate this.
Here is what I would do if I were George Paton:
Von – club option, try to get 3 yr/60M, but only 28M guaranteed, and those in first 2 years
J. Simmons – 5 yr/80M, low salaries first 2 years to offset Von and Kareem, 30M guaranteed
K. Jackson – 3yr, 32M, with a bit less this year and a bit more in 22 and 23, no dead if cut in year 3.
S. Harris – 4 yr 40M, 18M guaranteed
We have cap room, we draft and develop. Keep this defensive core while the offense are mostly cost control. Draft these guys replacements over the next couple drafts.
*Disclaimer* this is all a waste of post if DDW comes to town. I’ll gladly start over then.

My boys!
Guys, did you see the photos that Minshew posted on Instagram over the weekend? Genuine 1980’s vibes.
Where do you think he ends up playing in 2021? Could the Broncos make that move? The photos alone means he deserves a new opportunity in the right place.
Cheers

I’m extra delayed on this but player numbers are dumb. In the madden league all my guys rock their college numbers. Really fun Mase you are right chubb looks slick in 9. Not to mention it is fun to confuse the person I’m playing when you have linebackers with numbers in the 20’s! Still have a couple open slots too boys! Message me on Twitter at ZJCastro_94 or on Discord – name is superbowlen!

In this titillating scenario you will assume the omnipotent role as General George Paton – You’ve decided that the value at 9 is no bueno and traded back to 18 with the Fins and have received their pick #36 as well. You have decided to grab a coverage LB as well as an edge rusher (Horn is gone sadly and Fangio thinks he can get a good cb with pick 40). What do you do? You can draft either position with either pick, remember you are the Big Cheese, The Patron, El Jefe, The Big Boss. Choose wisely. The defense’s life is in your hands, man.

#18 – J.O.K (LB)
#36 – Ojulari if available (Edge)
#40 – Asante Samuel (CB)

Sorry to chime in one more time but did you read what Tim Patrick had to say in support of drew ….it’s a little concerning for me …#1 …and #2 did elway create too much of a comfort zone that drew didn’t feel the need to take things more seriously with his work ethic ?

Hope you guys are doing great. You may not see this, I had a busy weekend and just remembered to comment. I am not sure if you guys already talked about it, but it has been leaked that Fitzmagic will likely retire. First off, how does this affect the quarterback situation for the Broncos, if at all? And, what’s your favorite Fitzmagic memory? Thanks for everything guys!
Much love,
Sebastian
