My Boys! Crack a Breck Brew and cotton eye Joe until the cows come home.
I am a happy sports fan at the moment. The Broncos look young and ready to take the next step with my new favorite QB Mr. Drew Lock, The Rangers and my boy Bread Man are getting ready for the playoffs, and Spencer Rattler is ready to take over the reigns to Lincoln Riley’s offense. A name to remember for next year: Charleston Rambo, guy runs like he has a jet engine strapped to him. At least it looks like it. Man, the past few years were rough for the Broncos and Rangers but I’m glad to see all of my teams having something to look forward to!
I’ll leave you with a short and unrelated question: If the 2012 Broncos played the 1997 Broncos, who would win?
Thanks all and have a great day! Mile high salute to the haters
MarkITsnatch
Peyton Manning’s neck would’ve been broken against the 1997 defense, assuming each team is playing the rules of their time

Hey Fam.
I’ve seen some more Broncos concept uniforms, some good and bad. What are your picks on theses future possibilities?
1. Stick with navy blue or go Back to the lighter blue from the early 80s?
2. On the white Jerseys should they stick with the Blue numbers with the orange outline. Or reverse it for Orange numbers Blue outline? (Something I’ve seen in many concepts)
3. How many color combinations should we have and what’s too far? For example we have White on white, orange on white, blue on white, blue on blue and color rush. – but some concepts have white Shirts on orange pants or orange shirts on blue pants. I know this one is kinda loaded but where do we draw the line. How many is too many. The Chargers have 6 different combinations.
Love to hear your thoughts.
Lastly I’m calling out RK. He agreed to meet with his graphic designer friend and cook up a concept for a new Broncos logo that he would like. Cause he hated the 4 or 5 concepts that I sent him. Let’s see it my man!
Go Justin Simmons, DNVR and Denver Broncos.
I have Spoken, MileHighMike.

Hey guys!
In your opinion, who is the most underrated a/o under appreciated bronco, by the fans, in Denver history?
I realize the first 3 games will be more review them anything, but let’s move to the light blue: what was the best Bucs Panthers game, and the best Broncos chargers game (and why isn’t it the 24-0 Monday night miracle?)

My guys!
What do you know, another week has gone by and I still love this podcast!
Pleasantries aside, I have a bad idea… It’s a long, dull comment.
Name the most uninspiring super bowl matchup in the most uninspiring location. Make your selection based on history, the uniforms, and with absolutely no regard for the team’s current roster, or do one WITH regard to the team’s current roster. I don’t care. But I’m not talking about the worst teams against the other worst teams in the worst stadiums. No, I’m talking about a game that nobody would want to watch because it makes absolutely no sense. I’ll go first:
Saints at Browns, playing in the frozen wasteland of New Era Field during a blizzard. The ratings on this one are sure to be cold!
Now, I’m no super fan so, knowing my luck, the one I chose will probably end up being alright. If I’m considering current rosters, watching Alvin Kamara and Nick Chubb try to outrun each other almost sounds tempting, but with the Saints o line I feel it would be a blowout in the visiting team’s favor.
Since I’ve taken enough of your time already, this lovely Monday morning, I’ll see myself out.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Sorry to comment again but just saw that the Madden ratings just came out and WHAT THE FUCK!
Netani Muti is a 71 and Drew Lock is a 70??? Drew is 70 like Justin Herbert who has done NOTHING!!! Who the hell is running that department? A soccer guru who has no time for other sports?
Is this the world’s view on Drew Lock or the Broncos in general? Is this no longer simply people with a national view not paying attention to the Denver Broncos and now just straight up hating on them? I mean, according to these ratings Jordan Love is better than Drew. How does that work???
Sorry guys, hopefully you already covered this but damn! I’m sick of all these rankings, ratings, and projections that have the Broncos being trash! But I guess this is what we get for owning the AFC West all these years. We’ve been in more super bowls than the rest of our division combined so they must just hate John Elway and are scared he’s about to do it again. The NFL and its national audience are in denial.
All my best

Hey guys,
So do you think the arrival of Spencer Strasmore with the pockets full of cash of the Anderson brothers, to the Chiefs made the Maholmes and Jones deals so easy? ( sorry just finished last season of Ballers)
Here is a conspiracy theory on why Elway didn´t make a deal with Simmons, maybe he is trying to have all the cash available for next year to make AR12 (sorry Zac) an huge offer so he can repeat the PM18 move. Provided Drew Lock isnt “THE” guy
Much love

Fellas! The nanner naggin had me rolling, especially Zac’s ‘yeah that’s pretty gross, reminds me of a baby or something’. No hate to anyone with kids, I’m simply far too incapable of being responsible for a small human.
That’s it, that’s the comment. Go DNVR, Iceman, and nanners

The Denver front office is all business and no emotion. This model works well for a team like NE was when you have all the key pieces in place. But, when you’re a team like Denver how can you expect to get any good deals with current players and also be enticing for free agents? Football is played with so much passion and emotion. If an organization isn’t passionate about their players, how can you expect players to want to play for us? We are driving away players like Lindsay and Simmons and have lost many in the past for this reason. There has to be a happy medium between GB and NE.
Lovethunderdownunder
Help me out here.
The players have gotten very vocal very quickly around player safety en masse. Yes, a few commented before, but this is certainly more now broadly spoken in the past 48 hours.
The position seems to be the league hasn’t got a plan. But I’m certain we’ve had multiple communications RE: planning league wide and for the broncos, and just concepts – actually protocols to be followed.
Further to this – I haven’t seen a player actually point out specific flaws in the current proposals, it just seems to be rhetoric.
Is this another case of the NFL being much better at the comms game than the NFLPA?
Or maybe I have missed something here and hence the question – what’s going on?
Also – I heard the broncos will be live streaming practices for those sessions that were previously open to the public. Any detail on this? What are you guys doing?
Lovethunderdownunder
Sorry – had another question for you.
It’s RE: the discussion regarding Phil and Melvin and who will out perform. Very regularly in the NFL and on the pod you (and indeed all of us) talk about “per carry/catch averages”. It seems to me like this gets grossly over valued, particularly when comparing players. A very important point, particularly for RBs, is consistency of yardage, and for others big play capability. These don’t show up well in average measures and you need to consider variance to better understand this.
For instance (and these are made up to illustrate the point) if Melvin averages 4.5 yards a carry with 80% of his carries between 3.5 and 5.5 yards per attempt – it’s a very very different story to Phil, who also averages 4.5 yards, if his 80% range is 1 to 8.
If I am calling the plays, Im going to Gordon regularly given the higher level of consistency in yardage output, and leaning on Phil for late game plays when defenses are tired and he can take advantage of higher upside variance. Gordon gets more carries, and more yards – Phil may end up with a higher per carry average based on how
you used him.
How readily available are variances / standard deviation statistics for you all when looking at player data? Or is something you need to create yourself? Do you look at it?

Hey DNVR Family,
( Disclaimer: post will be long. Feel free to skip parts to save time. )
Just want to say sending prayers to Mrs. Iceman and to also the future Mrs. MetzBronco50.
I first want to say that I am probably the only person that is disappointed in both Elway and Simmons in how this was handled. Elway for the obvious reason and Simmons for calling out the Broncos over a couple of million dollars. I am all for Simmons signing a long term contract with us, but I feel like since he didn’t get what he wanted and the way he wanted it we are supposed to feel sorry for him. With how the world is now with people out of a job and so many people work multiple jobs just to get by, it is hard for me to feel sorry for either side. I think I have a solution: Elway offered Simmons to be the 5th/6th highest paid player and Simmons wants to be the highest paid player, so make him the third highest paid player in the league. Problem solved. Again, I am not say that Simmons doesn’t deserve to get paid, I just don’t understand why it is the players way or no way at all. This podcast spent days arguing if it was a good idea to sign Von or not with the way he has played since.
Thank you for letting me get that out there and now some quick questions:
1. Is there a Pro-Bowl this year?
2. RK, when are we going to get your fantasy player pick this year? Two years ago you nailed the pick of Lindsay and last year you nailed the pick of Murray.
3. Mr. B
4. Mase, you still planning on doing the What Ifs project or did I miss something?
5. RK, if I have a question about betting where would be a good place to ask it?
6. Can you guys see a situation where the league starts with no fans but by the time playoffs roll around some fans if not all will be there?
I hope this post doesn’t isolate me from this community. I hope to one day get to meet everyone in person at the DNVR Bar.
Thank you and stay AWESOME my friends.

FACETIOUS POST:
Guys, I figured out how to win forever. When we unveiled our current uniforms in 1997, we went 2 for 2. Therefore, as long as we update our uniforms every other year, we will win every Super Bowl! ? If only it were that easy.
I’m A Boliever
Gentlemen,
I don’t comment often, but I listen CONSTANTLY. After trying out several other Broncos pods, I finally landed on yours and boom, I was hooked. Then, Mase joined the team and it’s been Broncos glory ever since.
1) @Zac, Quinn XCII is amazing. I’ve listened to him for a few years now and can’t believe he isn’t more popular. Do you listen to Bryce Vine, at all? Similar style, though Bryce is a little more chill and laid back compared to Quinn’s quirky pop beats.
2) If you could place any player NOT named Patrick Mahomes from any other team on to Denver’s roster, who would they be and why?
3) For Mr. B.
Keep being awesome, y’all. Keep fighting the good fight. Thanks for the good listening!
dan birk
hey rk + mase. few things;
1) i know a lot of people are projecting a $70m cap reduction for the 2021 season. clark hunt is the head of the nfl financial committee. would he have significantly increased cap committments for the 2021 season if he expected that to happen? i know he’s also thinking about the chiefs window, but i think this might suggest that we’re more likely to see the charge spread over several seasons tbh
2) the athletic ran a piece about the broncos and lock. in terms of ‘epa’ (expected points added), lock finished as the 11th best qb in 2020 against zone coverage. he struggled against man coverage as most rookies do, but surely having a rookie qb that was that successful against zone coverage, that early, is pretty encouraging, no?
3)- mase can you say what homer’s reaction was to hank scorpio buying him the broncos instead of the cowboys? we need to have a discussion one day about all the shade the simpsons has thrown over the years towards the broncos but i’ll save that for a different day ?
BroncoNuggs
I was thinking about the Justin Simmons deal not getting done. Could it be because of ownership and the Bowlen family saying hey let’s wait to see what happens with ownership this seasons and then we can decide on what to pay him with a new owner. Is it possible that the team could have a new owner for the 2021 season? I really want Manning to be the owner and I’m worried the Washington team could be another team that he wants to invest in if he doesn’t want to wait for the Bowlens to decide what they want…
Another Ryan
I greet you today with a hearty foLks and no MY BOYS since Zac is on a much deserved vacation. Can either of you provide concrete specifics rather than inflammatory rhetoric as to what health and safety measures that the NFL is disregarding in relation to conducting training camp, practices, and games this season? Many NFL players, including Brandon McManus, went to Twitter over the weekend stating that they want to play, but that the NFL is not allowing them to do so safely. What exactly, besides no or one preseason game, is being referenced here? In the Broncos’ case, the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment approved the Broncos’ training camp plans, so I am not sure what the exact sticking points are with respect to health and safety from McManus and other Broncos such as Shelby Harris. I leave you with a good reminder for a new week and life in general, especially the year that we are currently experiencing: “Don’t try to live too many days at a time.” —Harold B. Lee

Hey guys ……I’m curious, do u ultimately think Rich Scangerello deserve to be fired or did he not have personnel in place to do what he wanted …… I was talking with my bronco fam and I explained to them the best trait that Drew Lock has that a awesome writer (I forget who it is ) pointed out is his ability to adjust and improve …… Drew did this in college it’s PFF number one positive critique that his pff grade improved every year he was in college we saw it … Drew Hof game is night and day from drew in the Seattle pre season game ….and Drew against the chargers is a much different drew then drew against the Lions His best game in my opinion …… However Did Scangerello know something we didn’t about Drew WHY DID HE NOT PUSH THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD !!!!….DREW had the best red zone completion percentage in the nfl he was 25/33 in the lions game with 192 yards and 1 TD THATS WHY PEOPLE THINK DREW IS LIMITED THEY SEE THOSE STATS AND CHECK OUT …. Then u watch the film he’s making incredible reads and ball placement however it’s quick outs curls and comback only one deep post route and Darius slay is a monster and knocked it away out of nowhere …..is drew deep ball accuracy an issue or what the heck was wrong why would he not push the ball down field u saw what he did in Houston OPEN THE PLAYBOOK UP BRO …. Idk watching the raider and lions game back Scangerello had to go man .

Hey Boys don’t know if this will make the cut but I just saw a post on ESPN for future power rankings for how teams are set up to be successful for the next 3 years. Now I know power rankings mean absolutely nothing but they had our boys all the way down below the raiders, and chargers at 24th in the league. What are your thoughts on this? More national bias against our boys? would love your 2 cents. Haven’t commented in a while hope you guys are staying safe. Sports are back and our Denver Outlaws are 2-0 on the young MLL season!
