What’s up Family? Long-time listener, first time commenter. Just re-up’d my subscription so that I could read all of the work that you guys do besides the pod, as I had let that lapse a couple months ago and have just been too busy to look into the draft and what-not.
Anyway – here is my question and some background:
I used to work for the catering company that fed the team back in the Jake Plumber era. Curious if you guys know with all of the new investments in the facilities over the last 5+ years, what do the guys eat (when they are there..)? I remember the year I was there, the Broncos had signed Jerry Rice before he retired, and Mike Shannahan drafted Maurice Clarett. It was so cool to meet Jerry and feed the team as a fan. During training camp, Maurice used to come into our area and grab ice cream even though the players were off limits from the food storage, and I remember Trevor Pryce eating close to 12 breakfast sandwiches every day. There was also a day late in the year with super bad weather that I was grilling steaks for the coaching staff and video team for dinner. Rod Smith came out and was like, “you guys don’t have a grill inside?! I’ll see if I can get them to help out with that, I have a little bit of pull around here…” That experience was very cool as a fan, to be able to meet the players and feed them – but I do remember not many of them ate super healthy, or their portions were out of this world huge. I would think that with an on-site team, they could structure their diets to be better and help more with weight/physical goals whereas we for the most part just had comfort food, with several options for each meal.
Sorry for the long comment/question, hope all is well with you guys and all the other listeners out there. Please take care of yourselves, but also look out for the at risk populations who may need help!

Hey have u guys managed to see the 1 on 1 with driskell, I like how he knew his place going on about if I can help out lock I will. Seems he knows his role well. And number 2 I need a new jersey now that wolfe is actually gone recommendations?
Heyyyyyooooooo!!!!
Funny Swayze story:
TL;DR – Girlfriend bought us Shwayze tickets for Valentines Day here in Fort Collins. Don’t care for Shwayze music but didn’t say anything. Got very drunk to try and enjoy. Nebraska rapper opener, decked out in red. Got too drunk. Got in an argument with girlfriend. Left early. Threw up at home. Passed out. Bad Valentines Day.
Broncos question: What team in the last half of the first round is most likely to trade ahead of the Broncos to take a WR? How likely is this? Do the Broncos need to move up to ensure they get one of the top 3?
Peace, fellas. Take care and stay well DNVR community!

Ok. Am I the only one who is wondering how the owners of the professional sports teams are going to pay players if there will be no fans at the game? I am sure some organizations have the money but surely there are ones who will have a hard time making payroll? I know they may make money on TV deals but not all the games can be televised. Next for Ryan, you weren’t on when I asked this last time so here goes. Can you find out what the chords and strum pattern of the opening song of the pod? Would love to learn it so I could play it at the tailgate party.

Another observation I had from Colts@Broncos 1983 was that the crowd booed the Broncos. Every time a crowd boos, someone makes the comment that “real fans” don’t boo. B-effing-S. Real unhappy fans boo, and they always have.
The DNVR community kept me out of some dark places over the last few years- especially during the Coronapocalypse, and since I’m a veteran, my membership has been free. To help pay it back in the uncertain economy (and to get some cool scha-wag), I just ordered a shirt and hat from the DNVR Merch shop. Looking forward to representing the community from Buccaneers Statistical Metropolitan Area. And by that I mean from my house.

Hey guys!
TL;DR most old hotels are haunted, thanks for the warning, babe:
It was a bit surreal hearing you guys talk about Red Dawn and Las Vegas, NM. I lived down there for a year while my fiancee worked on her master’s. The whole time, I’d geek out over different landmarks from the movie. The Casteñeda House being the big one for me. It’s where the soviets set up their HQ in the movie. Allegedly, it’s haunted. I didn’t know this before we went to look for housing. She (fiancee) thought it would be funny to show me the Ghost Adventures episode about it the night before we went down. Worse, the main place we looked at was right across the street. I did not sleep well until after we passed on it. We ended up renting a house 4 blocks away instead.
Anyway, out of the recent exuduses (or exudi?) of players, who do you see returning to sign one day contracts?
MarkITsnatch
Just exudus. Oops

Mason,
I’m sorry, but that water slurping and ice banging around the microphone was so distracting today that I finally just quit listening. Can’t you get your face away from the microphone when you drink water? Better yet, can’t the microphone be shut off for a couple of seconds.

Hello gents!
Longtime listener, new subscriber (we got em) and first time commenter! I saw an article of us possibly moving up in the draft for a receiver. On a scale of 1-100, 1 being not happening and 100 being totally happening. What’s the likelihood of us moving up?
Naterade
As of when I’m posting this, the Chiefs have not cut Sammy Watkins. I think most people assumed Watkins would get cut and Mahomes would get a mega-extension. Thoughts as to why neither has happened yet?

Was a little surprised to hear the name Etcheverry on the pod yesterday as that is my moms maidens name. Sam Etcheverry may be a distant relative as the Basque community isn’t that large. Really excited to see the way things are shaping up for the Broncos this year. At this point, I don’t see any way that there will be fans at NFL games this year. Any chance the teams will be able to pump some crowd noise into the stadium for TV viewers? The falcons already have experience. Just a weird thought not sure if it’s feasible. Stay healthy guys.

Here is my favorite rounds 1-4 scenario.
Round 1 – Trade up for your receiver using two thirds (any of the top three)
Round 2 – Cleveland, Cushenberry, or Biadasz
Round 3 – Bryce Hall
Round 4 – Davion Taylor
Thoughts?
Also, what player, based off of currently storylines, are each of you most looking forward to interacting with this season? Why? Lock is not an option.
Have a beautiful day Broncos Country!

Hey y’all, longtime listener/freeloader. But… you got me! Finally got my tax return and me and the Mrs. decided we’d each take a little to spend on ourselves. So, y’all are my gift to myself.
Regarding the talk about malt liquor, I am definitely a fan of Mickey’s(not a sponsor). I still routinely get a sixer of stubbies on the weekend. Each cap has a pictogram underneath it so the more you drink the more fun it is. Well, I’ve rambled on long enough. I’ll see myself out. God Bless

Hello Gentlemen,
First of all, thank you for being a wonderful distraction from all the craziness going on. We all need it.
2) All along I had assumed that if the draft got to Denver, at 15, and the three WR were gone, Javon Kinlaw would be the fallback. However, with the recent pickup of Shelby Harris, I wonder if that is still the case. What do you think happens if the get to pick and the WR are gone? Do they reach a little for a Justin Jefferson or Xavier McKinney or trade down and get maybe a Cesar Ruiz and then go WR in round 2. I would love to hear your thoughts.
3) I live in Chattanooga,TN however, through the beer locator on the Breck Brew site, I have found a local Publix where I can get the Vanilla Porter just about 15 miles away. So this weekend when I do the shopping I will try the Breck Vanilla Porter for the first time. If you have to socialdistance you need to social distance the right way!!
Take care and Go Broncos!!

Hey fellas, I’ve been wondering if I’m crazy to think this Broncos team is a playoff team. I have been deceived in the past by this team, and think I let my bias get in the way of reality. I do admit that the past four season have felt a little off, but in my heart of hearts I always felt like we were right there. This year seems to be different though, do you think they are playoff ready? If so how far do you think they can go, if not how far off do you think we are?

Sorry for the double comment fellas, but it feels like I’ve listened to my Spotify playlist 3x over now. What are your top three artist, and favorite album/song by them? Thanks the great content and sense of community that we all need during these times.
OnionTownLynx
If John Elway improves the team much more after and during the draft I see a tilting point for media attention. Do you think the pull will be stronger for hype around a Mahomes-Lock rivalry or just keeping the Chiefs in the spotlight at all costs, such as downplaying Drew Lock because he’s Mahomes’ rival. It’s only because Mohomes seems to be their answer to everything important in football. Why should I watch football? “Mahomes” What does the NFL specifically have to offer me over the XFL? “Mahomes”
At the end of the day, it’s just an annoyance. I don’t think anyone in Broncos country minds playing the villain but it just feels like 7 super bowls haven’t done this team any good, let alone a 4-1 record with outstanding, starting QB play with only, what was it? 9 practices? 11 practices? Anyways, have a good day guys.

Hey Guys, the surprise about there being SIX Sharknado movies made me Google them. I’m glad they don’t take themselves too seriously, check out the titles:
Sharknado.
Sharknado 2: The Second One.
Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.
Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.
The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time.
Where did they find the money to keep pumping out these films? I haven’t seen any of them but I’m sure they’re terrible.
Champ2480Smith
Hey fellas.
I understand with not much news the national media needs something to “report” on. But why are we seeing soooooo much Cam to Denver reports?Given his injury history no team should see him as a viable starter. And besides them ignoring Drew Locks potential where do they think this team would get the funds for a move like that?

Hello again, gentlemen,
Sorry I haven’t commented in awhile; I’ve been busy figuring out how to do distance learning with my students due to the school being closed indefinitely. It’s been a lot of work but I’m figuring it out.
I saw on TV today that Todd McShay has the chargers taking Jordan Love and not Herbert in the first round. Which one of those QB’s would you rather see them take?
Also, any chance Zac can tell us the name of his cat(s)?
Thanks again for everything you do. Your voices have been a calming presence during this certainly hectic time.

Gents,
Long time listener, first time commenter…ya got me. I live in Shreveport and with Louisiana becoming another hotspot for COVID-19, you guys are keeping me sane while I work from home.
A question for you all: is there something special about the draft this year in terms of elite talent? We know that the draft talent depth matches the Bronco’s needs, but having the 15th pick doesn’t guarantee us a tackle or wide receiver we want. If this is a truly special draft, do you think John will trade up to get his guy or stay put or trade back? Last year, everyone thought we were going with Devin Bush or Drew Lock in the first. John surprised us all, traded down and we know the rest. If we need to trade up, how far do we need to go to get our guy, and what will it cost?
Last, Mase, I got your 1984 reference a pod or two ago.

Thanks for the birthday shoutout yesterday! Ryan we are going to have to play a game of madden soon. You beat my brother and I need to avenge my family’s name. Hopefully madden can come out with a franchise mode next year that allows 2 players on each team. Just imagine a 32 team league with 64 players playing 2v2. They have it available in other game modes but not franchise mode ?

Hey guys,
I hope you all are doing well and healthy today. Do you guys think that with all our draft capital that we could potentially have enough to trade up and get Isisiah Simmons? Is Okudah too far out of reach? My personal opinion I’d love to trade up and get Simmons. The guy is a freak athlete and a great chess piece. Could either of these guys be realistic for John Elway to get without paying an arm and a leg for?
Enjoy taco tuesday with some Resolution Golden Ale. Thank you guys! Just Ice Hold The Water.

Elway and the Broncos get an A for their work in free agency and anyone who says different is being a hater. Looks like they went anti-2019 and took guys with no injury history. The signing that obviously has people talking the most is Gordon. And I happen to love it. Sure we paid a lot for a running back, but we actually got him at a discount according to Gordon. And we all know we need playmakers and an infusion of talent on offense for Drew in his first full year as starter. We have tried to draft Rb’s over and over and have failed. See Ball, Booker, and Freeman. We finally have a legit RB duo that will be a nightmare for defenses. The first two picks can now safely be WR and Tackle with no glaring holes left. Well done Elway and Vic.
Question: how many wins do we get if we snag Ruggs at #15 AND are able to snag Peters during the draft to play tackle?
BringBackTheSuperSonics
I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying if we trade up the best landing spot is 11th. Do you think Adam Gase would trade that pick to us, and if he would do it, would he do it without asking for a Kings ransom?
MileHighMike
Hey fam, just a minute to celebrate the near possible future for our beloved Broncos.
Mahomes looking to close this game once and for all, if the Cheifs score here the Broncos hopes are all but neutralized. it’s 3rd and 7 on the Broncos 48 yard line, Mahomes steps back into the pocket. Looking for Hill, he’s lightning fast but Bouye predicted the route and it’s too risky. In milliseconds Mahomes continues his reads. Callahan is fast enough to stay in front of Kelce and Amukamara has got watkins covered tight. In a flash Mahomes sprints to the flats, his feet have made miracles happen before. 5 yards to the marker, 3 yards, 2 yards and BOOM, Fangio saw this coming and set AJ to be the QB Spy and Mahomes is smashed out of bounds one yard short. Reed considers a 4th down play but they’re up 7 points and he trusts his defense. Punt.
After the return there’s less than 30 seconds left on the clock, Biadasz snaps the ball to Lock, he immediately looks for Sutton but he’s double covered. Fant’s route throws off the zone coverages for a quick second long enough for Jeudy to break free with a perfectly timed cut upfield! Lock let’s it fly seconds before Jones knocks him down. Jeudy brings it in and sprints to the end zone. Chiefs secondary hot on his tail but with a reach the ball just crosses the end zone! TOUCHDOWN. A PAT will tie the game but that’s not how Fangio rolls. Keeps the the offense on the field and lock finds Melvin Gordon in the flats. He’s got one man to beat as Mathieu comes down hard but Gordon leaps and hurdles the star Saftey. The 2 point conversion is successful and the broncos win!
Thanks for fantasizing with me for a little bit. I know I’m wearing orange colored glasses a little bit here but this off-season has got me pumped.
Quick note, would love to have Brandon Perna hop into the zoom call one of these days, the last time he visited was one of my favorite pods.
Sorry for the long comment. Hope some of you enjoyed reading it as much i loved writing it.
I have spoken, MileHighMike.

Top 3 movies.
1. Forrest Gump
2. Green Nile
3. Young Guns.
Also let me add to the long list of 90s movies yall need to jump on. Congo is a must see and so is Ghost in the Darkness.
Both Thriller type movies.
Congo is a Scifi thriller about killer apes guarding a long lost city of treasure. A science expedition goes array when the scientists enter this forbidden zone trying to release a Gorilla back into the wild.
Ghost in the Darkness is based on the true events of two man eating Lions that terrorized a work camp in Africa, as workers attempted to build a train bridge across a river that divided Kenya.
Both worth the watch!

Hey fellas. Hope you’re all healthy and staying safe. I have a question for Mase. Before free agency, you spoke of the Broncos not being a cash rich organization, and that we may not be able to spend as much of the cap space as we had because of guaranteed money needing to be put into escrow. With the contracts we accumulated over this time, was there less gaurntee’s because guys like Bouye and Casey are on the last couple years of their deals? How were we able to spend so much of the cap? Thanks gus, Wilma OUT.

Since we’ve been looking back on the past lately, what is everyone’s all time favorite football game? Other listeners please get in on this too! I’m not just talking Denver or the NFL, but the sport as a whole. It could even be a game you played in, let us live it through you!
I’ve been sitting here debating this in my own head and the game I continue to come back to is the 2007 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl with Boise State upsetting Oklahoma 43-42. The final 1:26 is an entire game in its own right. I would love to do a #DNVRWatches to that after all, they are Broncos.
Looking forward to everyone’s answers!

Soooo today ive decided im ignoring all national media when it comes to the broncos …..First take took their disrespect to a whole other level …..first Max Kellerman suggested the Broncos Should get Cam ….. (He made sure he said under his breath maybe as a good backup for the young kid ) but he said loudly or to compete and beat out drew lock ….he further went on to say that …Yea Drew lock went 4-1 but the LEAGUE CAUGHT UP TO HIM AND HIS YARDS PER ATTEMPT WENT DOWN ….. Forget his quartback rating … forget how his footworkk imporved every game , that his turnovers went down and his completion percentage forget all of that tho right max …….THEN STEPHEN A TOOK THE DISRESpECT HIGHER ….. mockingly saying …NOAH FANT…..COURTLAND SUTTON …PHILLIP LINDSAY their ok ………. can we get CAM SOME REAL WEAPONS AND RECEIVERS PLEASE ….. really that’s how u feel COURTLANDS AN EMMERGING SUPERSTAR AND THATS HOW U FEEL ??? ….im done …. These same people.picked us to lose every game in the playoffs all the eay up to the Superbowl in 2015 broncos aren’t gonna get respect and im over it NO MORE !!!!!
SPEAKING OF RESPECT ….what is a respectable contract extension phil will take …. After the mike klis interview for if only culture purposes only ??? THIS TEAM NEEDS PHIL !!…… How do we keep phil ??
avswatch22
I saw this too! Max Kellerman is just blowing smoke. He has no idea what’s good for this team and what our real needs our. We don’t need 4 QBs thats for sure.

Hey DNVR fam!
I recently read an interesting article. I wanted to bring the debate here since I trust your knowledge and we generally see eye to eye on a lot of team subjects. With that said, Who will have more TDs this year, Drew MVP Lock, OR Touchdown Tom Brady himself? Thanks for everything and a constant get away from life problems.
avswatch22
Hello gang. I’m trying to sneak my comment in before the end of the show, but with 37!!! comments ahead of mine, short, sweet, & to the point is the way today. I was watchibg Jurrell Casey’s top 100 placememts, and all other players could about him were positive things. I even read that this season he stripped Melvin Gordon in LA and recovered the fumble to secure a 23-20 win over the Chargers. How is it possible we got him for a 7th? And RK said teams need a big 4 on defense, it feels like the Broncos have a big 3 with the potential to add a 4th. If we add a guy like AJ Epenesa in the draft, does this defense just start to obliterate teams’ worlds? Or should we get the cheaper free agency pickup? Thanks again DNVR gang, one love, Go Broncos.
PS we can be on a first name basis, just call me Spencer from now on.
OrangeBroncoUK
What do you guys think of this draft scenario 1st round Ruggs/Judy/lamb (hope and Pray)
2nd Prince Tega
2nd (trade our last two thirds) – Laviska
3rd Biadsz
3rd (package the 4th and 5th) Bryce Hall (Or Jaylon Johnson of Hall is off the board)
6th Davion Taylor (package Two 7s and a 6th to move up to 5th round if needed)
7th I’m taking a punt on an upside safety
Russway Johnson
If DeAndre Hopkins was going for pennies why didnt the broncos make a move. I am naive I dont know how these moves are made. Is it well known? It seems that you would ppl to know you are shopping a guy. Start a bidding war.
Anyway, I hope that made sense. A few beers deep. Much love and stay safe.
