Still listening to Friday’s pod but want to get a couple points/questions out while they’re fresh on the brain.

1. Since an open faced sandwich has now received its own distinction, is an Eggs Benedict considered an open faced sandwich?
2. On the subject of guilty pleasure junk foods, have any of you gents experienced the Allsups Burrito? It is popular throughout New Mexico and West Texas and affectionately referred to most as a “gut buster.”
3. Mr. B
4. When the sun is high in that Texas sky, I’ll be buckin at the county fair. Amarillo by mornin. Amarillo, I’ll be there. SING IT MASE!

Has been a while since I last posted and I must say Wow. The off-season content has had me on the floor laughing. Sandwiches? Pop-Tarts? The Bachelor? Innuendo? Need I say more?

Also, just a quick question, what do you guys consider the cut-off for GenX and the Millennials. I was born in ’87 and depending on who you ask, I could belong to one or the other or both. Somehow, I feel this odd resistance to being labeled a Millennial.

Just asking. Keep up the hilarity gents.

Nevermind Gents. I have been thoroughly scalded by my peers that I am firmly fixed as a Millennial. Excuse me while I go brood.

Guys,

PB&J instructions, layer of PB on each piece, on the bottom piece go around the edges building up the PB to make a square “pocket” and load the jelly in that. No more jelly squishing out and plenty of PB to satisfy Mase.

Is McMahon still around?? If so HOW?????? Wadman??? My dad actually had a thought and I am curious if you think it would be legal, instead of punting it 12 yards, line up in the punt formation but direct snap to the back who essentially bowls the ball on the ground (technical fumble?) and have it go at least 20 yards. Better than watching a shank every week.

1. Knowing how long it took for Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers to get their offense rolling into what it is now, do you think Elway would still keep Kyle or fire him after his second season?

2. Would you choose Vic Fangio or Kyle Shanahan after Vamce was fired? If both were available at the time

Hey guys, been doing some mock drafts with trades and have had a few good ones. Tell me what you think about this 3 round mock. Henry ruggs with the 15. Trade with Patriots for 23. Give 2nd, 3rd, 6th get 7th rounder and #23 overall. Draft laviska. Trade to top of third round with Carolina for 69th overall for our 3rd and 5th(comp pick expectation) draft biadasz(all mocks he is hardest to predict, seen him as high as first or dropping to mid 3rd) and last 3rd round pick is Trey Adams. So Ruggs, Laviska, Biadasz, Adams. All offense.

My last minute comment didn’t make the last one but for spam aka “canned ham” musubi. It’s just spam marinated and fried in soy sauce and sugar on a bed of white rice wrapped in seaweed. It’s so easy to make I would make it as a young airman stationed in Germany. You can cut off the bottom of the can, place the seaweed underneath, pack in the rice, place the spam on the rice and then wrap… Or you guys can just hit up Mike Purcell and ask him to cook for you guys.

Anyway with the Pro Bowl coming up how good do you think Courtland will look with a pro bowl QB throwing to him? Just something to get excited about in this lull between seasons.

Go 49ers.
Kyle Shanahan will dirt nap Andy Reid just like his dad did and Mike Holmgren in SB 32.

Also pop-tart hot take. Cherry is my favorite, I know everyone hates it but it’s number 1 for me. All the “fruit” ones are good, the s’mores / sundae type kinds are good as well, but a tier below I think. Hope all is well in DNVR land.

Hey guys,

Just caught up with the Friday pod. I am just as baffled as you guys as to why Elway wouldn’t come out and just say that Drew is the guy for 2020…but all the info coming from Dove Valley is that he is 100% the guy.

RK’s sources told him that Lock was told he was the guy going forward. On top of that, Elway’s bff Mike Klis has posted several stories stating the Broncos are not in the market for a QB at the top of the draft AND that the move to get Pat Shurmur was for Lock’s development.

So with that being said, the only explanation I can think of is Elway wants other teams to think he is in the market for a QB. Is he trying to get teams to jump Denver to get Jacob Eason or Jordan Love? Thoughts?

Andrew O, KC Spy and I (as well as all Denver fans in KC) are in HELL. This is TERRIBLE! Such insufferable fans. I’ve shut down social media temporarily, and I see no end in sight. On the bright side, it looks like we will be visiting the moon soon to commemorate the last time Kansas City made it before yesterday. Any words of encouragement?

My advise is to humbly congratulate them on finally joining the rest of the AFC West in winning their own trophy! Let’s pray that the 49ers embarrass them on the worlds biggest stage, and we can go back to mocking them for choking women, children and championships! Still can’t believe how passionately Chief fans defend Tyreek Hill! Worst fan base in the world, and it isn’t even close!

Mase and Andre i know y’all weren’t the ones who had the conversation but this is in regards to John second guessing firing Scangarello after the niners packers game. Scangs system might be just fine and he could be a great play caller, but our personnel just isn’t close to where the niners is. Our players that we have and the young guys are much more fitting for pat shurmur. Think about the positions compared to the niners. Fant isn’t and won’t be near what Kittle is as a blocking tight end, their offensive line is worlds better than ours, and lock is more talented than jimmy G. We don’t need to hide Lock behind a system like the niners do with Jimmy G. The 49ers are the perfect version of this system, and Broncos we’re not going to be able to replicate it. Shurmur is a nice hire to play more to our strengths that we have. Let’s stop being prisoners of the moment and not get carried away with them running all over a bad run defense in the packers.

There are two additional foods that can be eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Eggs is definitely one of them. There were 101 pleats on a chef tote (Hat) that signifies the 101 different ways to prepare eggs. They are one of the most versatile foods you can cook. Ex: breakfast- fried eggs. Lunch-deviled eggs. Dinner-egg foo young. The second is chicken and waffles. It can and is eaten at all times. Made should know that’s huge in the south. After 27 years of eating everything I went vegan(men can be vegan too) 5 years ago for health and ethics reasons so a lot of what I eat now can be considered breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I’ve watched a lot of the reality shows and I could never get behind them. I can’t get into clearly scripted drama with d class acting. What’s the appeal to scripted reality shows with worse acting over top actors which are also running off of a script?

Two things
1 – Do you see KC drinking too much of their own Flavor-aid and we get a repeat of what happened to the Broncos in SB48? All time offense getting completely shut down by a well prepared, physical defense.
2 – Stepping away from the Broncos, how do the Rockies not run Birdich out of town on a rail? Piss off your best player, give away any leverage you had, and crater trade value. WTF!

Holler!

1) Crepes can be considered a BLD meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner, that is.

2) What’s the biggest hit in 21st century Broncos history? (Remember that standstill open-field pile drive Nate Webster had on Fred Taylor??)

3) Have you ever seen a bear combing his hair?

4) Some call my mom and I crazy, but for all you leftover aficionados out there, scraping pizza or pasta into your scrambled eggs is magically delicious! (Cheese and meat bits are mainstays in scrambled eggs anyways, people…)

5) Remember the time when Bobby Boucher showed up at halftime and the Mud Dogs won the Bourbon Bowl? Do ya?! Do ya?!!

6) What are best case / worst case scenarios for this Broncos offseason?

7) What comes after seventy-four?

Hey all!
New subscriber after listening for the entirety of this last season. You’re the first pod that actually gets me excited for the offseason, so that in combination with Mase joining the team convinced me to pony up and subscribe (plus get my awesome free t-shirt!). I don’t regret it and I think you’ve got a subscriber for life.

RK: it sucks that we can’t make Chiefs going to the Super Bowl jokes anymore, but man I hope SF beats them and we can still be the only AFC West team to claim a title recently.

No question, but definitely wanted to say hi, introduce myself, and tell you three that you’re awesome. Keep up the good work!

With the upcoming CBA, would it be possible to have a salary limit on what teams pay quarterbacks? Make it the max and go from there and make it equal for teams that feel like they got their dude.

Mase / Dre – hope you’re enjoying the senior bowl.

I hope you’ve packed your PB&J for Breaklunchdinner.

Question – how much does the speed difference between a 4.30 40 and 4.50 40 actually show up on the field?

Of the prospects in the WR pool you are seeing, who plays faster than they might record at the combine, and who doesn’t living up to their timed speed?

RK you got me. I’m a college student who hasn’t been able to afford the subscription price, but I’ve listen everyday since Mase announced he was joining the old BSN. Mase is the reason I joined and my favorite journalist. Thank you Mase for your humor and intelligence. Also I’m 19 years old about to turn 20 and the fact RK and Zac don’t know John Hughes films or movies in general hurts me. Mase makes such good references! Going to be more Star Wars quotes in the near future.

I love PB&J and I’d eat it for breakfast but it’s not a breakfast food. You’re having lunch for breakfast. It’s great don’t get me wrong but it’s not breakfast. Very much like having eggs for dinner. Is it great? Absolutely. Does it work? Of course! But it’s not a dinner food. PB&J is the same way.

Also how much are you willing to pay Chris Jones? How much does Simmons contract affect how much you’re willing to pay? What about Matt Moore as backup QB to be a veteran to help mentor Lock? He wouldn’t cost much and he’s familiar with the system. I miss football already and did my own mock and free agency with the cap in mind and had Jones set for $17 million over 4 years. If you can get Ruggs at 15 and Prince Tega Wanogho at 46 would you do it or trade back into the first for Biadiasz for a 2nd and a 3rd?

Good morning Andre and Mase,

Can you rank these WRs in terms of speed, agility, catch-ability, slot route running, and what round you think they will go? I believe they are all at the Senior Bowl, and hopefully will be available in 2nd round and beyond, and should resolve our void of a speedy receiver in the slot.

KJ Hill – WR – Ohio State
Devin Duvernay – WR – Texas
Van Jefferson – WR – Florida
Brandon Aiyuk – WR – Arizona State

Feel free to add someone who is small and speedy, that I have missed off or don’t know about.

I am still torn on taking Ruggs or Shenault at 15, or going after Simmons, Epenesa or Brown; a real top quality defensive piece. Will post a question on CBs later in the week, but at the moment, for me, if Simmons is there at 15 we HAVE to take him.

Hey guys,

Are you concerned about the relatively low hit rate on first round WRs? Obviously the draft is a gamble no matter what position you target but it seems like the success rate for WRs has been unusually low, likely because of the ability for college teams to scheme WRs open easier than the NFL. Since 2015 here are the hits vs misses:

Hits – Amari Cooper, DJ Moore, Calvin Ridley, Hollywood Brown
Misses – Corey Davis, John Ross, Corey Coleman, Josh Doctson, Treadwell, Agoholor, Perriman, Dorsett, Kevin White
TBD – N’Keal Harry, Will Fuller, Mike Williams, Devante Parker

The 2014 class was a historic hit but seems like the exception of the past few years. Always enjoy your thoughts & go Broncos!

Dre!!! Brother I haven’t spoke to ya since the BSN draft party an you asked for me too drop my pod. I followed you on Twitter @JoelBaglio so we can spitball draft talk and grade mocks! Been waiting to spill my thoughts on this for awhile, I’m extremely high on Viska, like he’s a lottery ticket type of hype. I’ve struggled to accurately comp him to a former pro player. After watching his tape it would be a huge mistake not suiting him up in Orange & Blue; However I don’t believe that NFL teams are going to rank him nearly as high maybe even falls to day 2. I think it’s highly likely that @ 15 if Lamb and Ruggs are both there were could trade back with a team like the Eagles or even into the early 20’s and still secure Viska. He’s got elite body control and awareness for his size he possesses underrated breakaway speed an has playmaker vision that can’t be taught, in short he’s is just gifted with the ball like Tyreek Hill-esque. I don’t understand why many think he’s less of a prospect than others factor in his size and he’s just a freak and might even end up the best WR in this class. As far as Ruggs tape, I honestly was underwhelmed and he’s a bit overrated and to me he is just a rounded receiver with wheels. let me know your thoughts, also where you think Viska falls also I’m ready to redeem my free DNVR subscription shirt, but have no clue who to contact lol hope all is well and looking forward to the best Bronco draft coverage from ya bud, stay blessed!

Gentlemen, the entire food debate is getting misconstrued! You have people talking about ingredients vs whole dishes. For example you can’t just say eggs can be eaten at every meal, of course it can, but eggs aren’t a complete dish. You can’t compare them to PB&J, as PB&J is a conglomeration of 3 ingredients. So we must get on the same page of what constitutes a meal, and what doesn’t.
Food talk out of the way I want to pose a draft scenario question to you guys. Let’s say at pick 15 the Broncos somehow have OT Tristan Wirfs and WR Henry Ruggs III sitting there. Who do you take in that scenario?
I have been all in on getting more weapons and speed on offense. However it does concern me some if they can’t improve the offensive line. I can only think about how the Colts continually negated getting Andrew Luck an offensive line and it ended up ruining his body, resulting in an early retirement. I know Lock can buy more time and Bolles did play better when he was the QB. It’s just a little concerning. Your thoughts?

Hey guys, how well do slot receivers do on their first couple of years?, I would think they need experience to get the feel for defenses and to find the soft spot on the coverages, does it make more sense for the broncos to get a wr2 in the draft and a veteran slot in free agency?
I look forward every year to your coverage of the senior bowl, last 2 years the guys really nailed the info they got from their contacts.
Just read Mase´s article on Javon Kinlaw, if the 49ers beat the chiefs with 4 man pressure it would make a lot of sense to draft a dominate DT, I think our line would be better than the niners with him.
Keep up the great work

You mentioned Mahome’s potentially giving a “hometown discount”, and the thought sent shivers down my spine! I think his agent and dad will have a lot to say about it when it comes to any potential discounts. I can’t imagine him doing this given that his dad was a former MLB player, and the potential risk of injury that could cut his time short in the league (He had a few scares this year). It’s important to get your money while you can in such a violent sport….Mahomes getting paid could go a long way in evening the playing field in our division and should be what every Bronco fan is pulling for this offseason! How could the chiefs structure his contract to limit the 2020 cap hit, if in fact he gets a new contract?

Gentlemen, I am about to embark on a two week trudge through hell on earth, as I attempt to live in Chief’s Kingdom before the Super Bowl. I have lived off dunking on Chief’s fans about their lack of Super Bowls for the better part of 15 years, and prepare to have it thrown back in my face. I have resigned myself to the fact it’s just their year. I have not believed in the 49ers all year, and really I still don’t. This leads me to your discussion on if Elway regrets canning Scaggs. True, Kyle Shanahan is killing it, but it was apparent that Scangarello was not ineffective play caller. I dont think Vic wanted to wait around for him to become one.
