Think I just missed the cutoff so posting to this pod.

Hope you fellas had a great 4th!
Wondering if you guys still had plans to break your longest pod record this off season? ? I miss those 2.5 hr + pods.

If the patriots of the last twenty years are considered the biggest Dynasty in the NFL, who are the top 5 runner up teams (can span any number of years and doesn’t need to coincide with the last twenty years)?

Where would you rank the broncos?

Lastly, what teams come to mind as being on the verge of becoming a Dynasty only to have one decision go wrong and completely fall off?

Looking forward to your answers. Keep up the great work as always! Thanks for the amazing content day after day. It is something I most look forward to.

Where does the 2015 draft rank in terms of all time bad drafts for the Broncos? Can we all agree that this is Elway’s worst or was the Garrett Bolles disaster draft of 2017 worse? Trevor Siemien at the very end was about the only bright spot although 2017 is REALLY BAD also.

My boys! Well it’s official there’s a new member of the DNVarmy. Had a baby girl (Kennedy Kristine) on the 2nd. Weighed 8lbs even. I don’t want to go on to long just excited, and wanted to share. Even gonna look into a lifetime membership for her too lol.

Unpopular Hot Take.

Phil will leave the Broncos when his contract is up. Unless Elway ponies up a mountain of cash (which I do not think he will), Phil is going to feel slighted by the organisation, the potential for disharmony through carry opportunities/contract comparisons with Melvin etc is too high.
It’s fine to have a chip on your shoulder, but if you feel underappreciated constantly, that chip becomes toxic and you will never truly be happy, and seek love elsewhere.
I have resigned myself to life without Phil, lets just enjoy him while we can.

I’ll try not to let the door hit me on the way out.

So remember that conversation about Mahomes with a bunch of vet minimum players and rookies? Could be close to that soon, especially if the league’s salary cap is reduced due to lost revenue.

As for the Dunkin conversation: Dunkin is king on the east coast and I don’t know why. I get iced coffee from there because they usually have a deal in the summer and it’s the only spot around our town. Half the time it tastes burnt and their donuts are garbage, definitely frozen. Starbucks has better coffee and anywhere has better donuts.

If Lock is clearly The Guy after this year, would you leash him to a long term contract asAp? Perhaps 5 years 175/200 Million? 75 Guaranteed?

Hey team,

You talk about Wes Welker being a surefire Hall of Famer. Fine by me… But shouldn’t Rod Smith be a lock too, then? Rod has 1,400 more yards and 18 more touchdowns. Does 54 more receptions and lining up a little closer to the tackle make Wes buzz light years more superior than Rod? Enlighten the booty, if you will…

Graciously,

Hey guys!
Pardon the litany

After 3 1/2 months of Covid furlough, I finally started a new job for a beer distributer. They’re associated with a certain local company that leans heavily on Sam Elliott for advertising. Unfortunately, Breckenridge does not have their distribution contracts through us. Which makes drinking a Breck brew feel like drinking the lifeblood of the enemy. Or having a sidepiece. Either way, it’s still delicious, but I feel a tad guilty about it

Speaking of beer, if you don’t already, recycle a/o scrap your aluminum cans. Aluminum mining and can production were not considered a necessary enterprise during Covid, and now many breweries are running out of cans for their beer. We have certain beverages that are back ordered nearly 2 months because of it.

Finally, football: you mentioned yesterday how offenses will be hindered early in the season because of a shortened, or possibly non existent preseason. How will this impact Denver’s offense, particularly with several rookies, new players, and a new offensive scheme? Will the standard growing pains be worse? Will the rookies benefit more from a shortened season that’s only slightly longer than their college days? And how long would you expect the offense to catch up to the curve?

Hey guys,
After Mahomes signed his out of this world contract..I’m anxiously waiting for that Adam Schefter’s breaking news tweet that the Denver Broncos have signed Justin Simmons to a new long term contract. I know it will happen but damn they’re really makin us wait.
I was also thinking the other day, if you add all of the great Broncos CBs & safety’s on the same defense, in my opinion that would definitely be the greatest secondary ever!! Can you imagine Champ Bailey & Aqib Talib as your corners, Chris Harris at the slot (where he belongs), Steve Atwater at strong safety and Justin Simmons as your free safety!! Yea that’s definitely the best. Hope you all have a great day and thanks for all that you do.

Man Jerry *beep*ing Jeudy man. He has formally released a 2 minute tape with Twitter swag and all. *beep* me, stop it. Just *beep*ing stop it.

And you guys – you are the worst. I specifically asked you to calm me down last week about whether he will be that good and, no, *beep* me you couldn’t do it. Not even *beep*ing Mase could come up with something and he always has some *beep*ing thing. The RK puts him in his all time receiving group? *beep* this.

I swear I don’t have the emotional strength to deal with him not being the all time greatest receiver. *beep*.

To distract me and bring me down to earth (for real this time, *beep* me) – who will be the biggest *beep*ing disappointment of 2020, and why?

Morning guys!
Totally unrelated to football, but do you know where your families‘ origins lie? RK, your heritage must be German, right? Koenigsberg literally means king’s mountain.
Sorry for being lacy on posting lately, have been busy with the baby coming in November…
Have an awesome Tuesday!

Sorry in advance if some one has brought this up I am behind on the podcasts. But I was curious where Von stood since the superbowl in overall sack count as I though Zac was slightly overreacting about him not being worth his contract. According to PFR he is 5th in this time. Above Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. I think it is easy to forget how hard it is to consistent get double digit sacks in a season. And Chandler Jones is criminally underrated.

A couple of points..

I’m stunned by your comments on Star Spangled Banner. Why the fuss over the kneeling through the anthem if no one gets as passionate as me about it? Strange..

Mase, read the full lyrics and tell me you still like God Save The Queen….”Scotts to Crush?” That’s awful. The Queen is neither gracious or noble either, just someone who was born into the ‘right’ family. With all the talk about BLM and white privilege at the moment, it DOESN’T get any more privileged than THAT family. They can do as they please; I presume Prince Andrew has hit the news over there?

Some people love the royal family here, but it’s on the decline thankfully. Weirdly, Patriotism does strange stuff to people, and they will vehemently defend THEIR country or group, or whatever it might be, and remove all objective logic from the situation. If you read between the lines of what I am saying here, you can see what I am reeeeeally getting at 🙁

Lastly, Mase, and it feels like I’m having a bit of a dig at you today, so my apologies for that, but you said “separate the artist from the art”. So, if you saw the most beautiful painting you had ever seen, bought it, hung it on your wall, then realised it was painted by, I don’t know, let’s say Adolph Hitler, would you still leave it hung on your wall? Predicting your response, I’d therefore point out that the Artist DOES in fact affect the Art.

Peace out and love to all, especially to you, my Southernish Accented, Buccs loving friend 😀

I am curious what everyone is so adamant that fewer preseason games is a good idea? I think: 1)more football is good (even bad football) and 2)dosnt having multiple preseason games benefit the teams as it allows the teams to practice travel and implementing their various Covid protocols before live games happen. The Premier League had a handful of positive cases at the start of their season and just this last week reported zero cases. Seems that’s part the UK but also the players/teams improving at managing the situation. Just curious on your thoughts.

First off, to Iceman, Mrs. Iceman, MetzBronco50 and Mrs. MetzBronco50 were all here rooting rooting and sending our best wishes in your direction. Stay strong guys.

Second, what a wild week I’ve had. I got a nice promotion at work, got exposed to covid, been waiting on test results for almost a week. I have no symptoms thankfully.

Now on to football! IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME SHANNY GETS IN THE RING! Next up is the HoF! We’re starting to work through the long back log of Broncos that deserve to be in! My top 3 that I’ve been pounding the table for are Randy Gradishar, Rod Smith and Tom Nalen.

Finally in the Javon Walker vs Brandon Lloyd debate, give me Lloyd all day. If he could do that with Kyle Orton, imagine what he could do with a QB with a Madden rating above *POUND* 75! ….okay so I looked it up and Orton’s rating in Madden 11 was 80, but they also had Matt Schaub (89) higher than Carson Palmer (87) so really, what do they know?

MY BOYS! I forgot to provide the answers to my trivia question yesterday that I posed on Friday. Here are the answers to players who signed as undrafted free agent with the Broncos and went on to win a Super Bowl as Broncos:

1. Rod Smith (WR – Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII)
2. Dwayne Carswell (TE – Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII)
3. David Richie (DT – Super Bowl XXXII)
4. Matt Lepsis (OT – Super Bowl XXXIII)
5. Cyron Brown (DL/OL – Super Bowl XXXIII)
6. Chris Harris Jr. (CB – Super Bowl 50)
7. C.J. Anderson (RB – Super Bowl 50)
8. Juwan Thompson (RB – Super Bowl 50)
9. Bennie Fowler (WR – Super Bowl 50)
10. Tyler Polumbus (OT – Super Bowl 50)
11. Shaquil Barrett (OLB – Super Bowl 50)
12. Lerentee McCray (OLB – Super Bowl 50)
13. Aaron Brewer (LS – Super Bowl 50)
14. Kenny Anunike (DE – Super Bowl 50) (IR)
15. Zaire Anderson (ILB – Super Bowl 50 (Practice Squad)
16. Kapri Bibbs (RB – Super Bowl 50) (Practice Squad)
17. Dillon Day (C – Super Bowl 50) (Practice Squad)
18. Kyle Roberts (OT – Super Bowl 50) (Practice Squad)
19. Jordan Taylor (WR – Super Bowl 50) (Practice Squad)

With today’s breaking news that Mike Shanahan will be inducted into the Denver Broncos’ Ring of Fame in 2021, you have to think that the halftime of the game the Broncos will hold the ceremony for will be when they play Las Vegas or Washington, right? I lean more towards the Raiders, because of it being the Broncos’ greatest historical rival and how much Mike beat them when he was Denver’s head coach after years of struggles for the Broncos against them. Here’s some more trivia for today. What was Mike’s overall record against the Raiders as Denver’s head coach? Did Washington defeat Oakland in 2013 when Mike coached against the Raiders one last time?

Have a terrific Tuesday! DNVRMY SALUTE!

Oops, I omitted Britton Colquitt. I forgot that he signed as undrafted free agent with the Broncos in 2009 prior to being cut and signed to Miami’s practice squad. Colquitt then ending up back in Denver on the Broncos’ active roster at the end of said season.

Hey fellas,

I just need to talk about something real quick. I think if the rb competition is fair Phil will run away with it before the season starts. I’ve been watching Melvin Gordon on NFL Network and listened to him on the rapsheet podcast. He sounds so arrogant and while he says the right things you can tell he thinks he’s a lock to be the starter. Reminds me of when he held out because he was so confident in his ability and when he came back he was awful for like a month. I know that he is a really talented player, and I was excited when we initially signed him, but I’m starting to waver on that opinion. Only time will tell, but I just have a bad gut feeling about this and it gets worse the more that time goes on. What do y’all think of Melvin Gordon’s comments/general attitude? Sorry to be a Debbie downer. Lol.

this is probably the first segment today but just in case it isnt- what do y’all think are the implications of the m*homes extension as far as their roster goes? i never realized how many high priced players they have right now and thats without factoring in chris jones.

does this mean they’ll end up moving on from players like sammy watkins and frank clark sooner rather than later? no doubt they’ll always have a 9+ win floor like seattle have every year, but how long do y’all think it’ll be before the cracks start to show?

All of you are wrong about donuts. HyVee, the Iowa-based grocery chain that I work for, has the best donuts hands down. But I’ll give you three a pass since you don’t have it out there. ?

Anyone here remember the 2007 season opener against buffalo? We had to trot out Jason Elam with time running down for a buzzer beater kick!

Good times from a rough season. Thanks for remembering with me!
