Dear mighty three
I really enjoyed watching that game – Broncos making plays all over the field, albeit defending the kick returns needs some work!
Also really enjoyed listening to the post game podcast – I was surprised and saddened to hear Allie mention that some of the YouTube comments were toxic. RK and Zac, I thought you explored all the topics in a really balanced and entertaining way, arguing from multiple points of view and representing the debate that we’re all having (and that the Broncos coaching team must also be having!). Hope you don’t take the toxicity personally – you’re doing a great job.
My questions:
– If TEDDY wins out, do you think it’s the end for Drew as an NFL starter or could his time yet come? And is that more likely to be at the Broncos or elsewhere?
– If DREW wins out initially, but then plays poorly and gets benched a few games in, is that actually WORSE for his future career prospects as a starter?
All the best from the UK, Christopher
PS Shout out to my man Doski in Colorado Springs who I know always listens to the pod!

Gentlemen,
Just throwing my two cents out there, right or wrong.
The reason Broncos country is so toxic right now is because we have been slowly poisoned by years of mediocrity from the QB position and the front office Munchausening the hell out of us with the old “with this amazing defence, all we need is a game manager at QB to succeed”.
Well forgive me, but we have all been down this road more than a few times before – Simian, Sanchez, Flacco, Keenum, – same old sh!t.
I have no hard feelings towards Teddy, seems he is a genuinely good guy.
I am sure 99% of Broncos country is with me on that.
We’ve been banging our heads against the same wall for years hoping one day it won’t hurt anymore.
In my opinion Teddy is just the next in a long line of journeyman QB’s to roll through Denver, get our hopes up and embarrass us all again with another losing or .500 season.
Give Drew one last shot, if he fails, move on , draft a QB and get a new coach next year.
Sorry for the long comment.

QB A: 93.5 – QB B: 86.5
QB B has a combined DNVR preseason game scorecard win of 21 – 19points
Trying to be as objective as possible… How do you not name QB A the starter. We set very clear goalposts before the competition began: Whoever wins the scorecard and the preseason games should be the starter. QB A won in both categories using your own scores.
The only way QB B wins is to retroactively add in + 8 points for “potential” to QB B… which we should do but Fangio won’t. Whether or not Patton forces drew to play tells me if he thinks Lock really could be the guy. Letting Teddy start just tells me Patton is going to get his guy next year and wasn’t worth strong arming Fangio this year. Hopefully….

Which current Bronco would be your dark horse candidate to win the milk crate challenge ?

How valuable is football IQ compared to physical ability? Throughout his career Peyton Manning made up for a lack of physical tools with a superior football IQ. In 2015 Peyton’s brain could no longer mask the deficiencies of his body. How would you rank the three Broncos QBs on a scale of 1-10 in two categories; football IQ and physical ability. Combine the two scores and then rank the QBs accordingly. How would the Broncos QBs stack up to the rest of the AFC West using this system?
Kattdaddy92
Over the last two offseasons, we’ve talked about how the Broncos are trying to build a team to beat the Chiefs, which QB gives us the best opportunity to do so? In my opinion, Drew’s upside gives us a better chance than Teddy’s consistently average play.

What are your thoughts or how big of a joke are the raiders referring to the rumors of them trying to trade to get back Khalil Mack?
Shaggymcloviniii
Also from having the year Bolles had last year, if you could go back would you draft Bolles or Ryan Ramczyk ?

Homie Montee Ball got me off the rails with this one: “ Championship season for Denver this year. You heard it here first. Screenshot this and get back with me in January! #BroncosCountry.” That being said, if teddy starts, where would this team rank among others he has had around him? Just entertaining thoughts to send my heart a flutter, much love to my DNVR fam.
P.S. people need to chill and just support the squad no matter who is on it. Simple.

Reposting cause I know you guys couldn’t get to all the comments yesterday
Ryan said before the games if you told him Bridgewater would throw 19 times, he would expect 14 completions and 2 TDs. Throwing for 2 TDs in 19 attempts is a VERY high rate, Aaron Rodgers last season as the MVP threw a TD pass every 22 attempts. If those are the expectations, Ryan must have expected Teddy to play at an extremely high level and play like a top 10 QB in the league (even though some of it was against second teamers). That doesn’t seem consistent with viewing Teddy as average.
I’m not saying Teddy should be crowned the guy, but we should acknowledge Teddy’s playing exceptionally and showing a high ceiling. Statements people make like ‘the team goes 8-9 or 9-8 with Teddy’ is just an opinion, a declarative statement about what someone thinks the future is. If someone HAD to make a declarative, guess-the-future statement about this team’s potential record with Teddy and that person sincerely looks at Teddy’s play, the teams he’s had, injuries, everything they REALLY should say this team is probably 9-8 or 10-7 with Teddy, could be 1 or 2 wins better or worse depending on injuries, etc. I would rather Lock get the start I think but the hatred of Teddy, especially on Twitter, is getting so ludicrous it’s almost seems like a parody.
It’s crazy the toxicity in the live streams you guys are dealing with from fans on all sides, your guys’ reporting and resolve is appreciated!

Hola,
My guys, my dudes, my compadres. Nice to hear all 3 of you on the pod again.
Quick question,
Why do you think there is so much malice in broncos country In the Drew teddy debate.
1. Isn’t teddy the best veteran we’ve brought in during the post manning Era.
2. Has drew really shown enough to deserve the full commitment of a franchise.
Anyhow, I’ll be at the bar for week 3 vs the Jets , so yall better reinforce the bars.

Also none of this matters anyway since we will have Malik the freak Willis next season!

Hi guys,
I listen to the pod yesterday and was interested to hear Mase say what happens if Drew sits, watched Teddy and adds elements of Teddy to his game and becomes a calculated gunslinger…
THATS WHAT HES DONE!! more TDs and less picks through camp … hit rockets as the starter against Vikings and then took the check downs against the Seahawks!
If he doesn’t start, Drew should demand a trade. If he sits this year he’s finished as an NFL starter, despite doing everything his coaches asked of him.

hey guys!
a couple of things i wanted to talk about that aren’t getting much attention;
1) the broncos had zero penalties against seattle. that was really impressive considering they were playing with backups and rookies for the most part and were playing on the road, in a loud and hostile environment. i feel like vic doesn’t get enough credit for having his team ready to play and disciplined.
2) kary vincent jr has been playing really well for the past two games. one of my favorite plays was last week vs minnesota, where it was a 4th and 5, and vincent came flying in and stopped the receiver 2 yards short of the first down. very limited sample size and weak competition, i know but pff currently have him with an 81.1 coverage grade for the preseason.
i know we always tend to overrate our players not clearing waivers, but a young guy with upside, has legit 4.3 speed and has shown he can cover? i don’t want to risk it with him.
what do y’all think?
larrydennjr
I’m excited for teddy if he’s the starter or drew inthin kee have an insane roster and we can do in with either QB there’s no need for debate support whomever gets to start and let’s Go Broncoscountry
My question is fantasy related ….
Which broncos is would be your top. 3 picks ud draft to ur fantasy team if ….

.and name your top 3 if teddy is the starter thanks guys ??

Hi guys,
Floors are for walking on, ceilings keep the rain out! Teddy will prove that a 28yo can improve, keep the faith! Cheers.
And Zac, Trevor Seimian jerseys for sale on the Broncos website for $11, load up my friend ??

Was hoping Von would name his son Cameron Newton Miller since he was already that guy’s daddy.
Really loving how Von is kind of flying under the radar this preseason. Get your popcorn ready.
AviatorChris
I agree about Von. I noticed during 2019 campaign when he got only 8 sacks that he was partying a lot with his gf at the time via Instagram during the season and off-season. I believe Von is very focused this season and has that extra drive with him becoming a dad! Just my opinion though on his lack of production.

Hey guys has been a while for me. Took a break over the summer to let the QB competition and all the trade rumors play out.
Have a couple quick questions for you though; first the fantasty question:
I am in a full PPR league and we are doing 1 keeper this year and the cost is one pick before the round they were drafted last year so I have narrowed down my choices to the following 3 options and was curious to hear your takes:
Johnathan Taylor cost 4th round pick ADP 10th overall (per Fantasy Pros)
Jerry Jeudy cost 11th round draft pick ADP 76th overall
or George Kittle for cost of 2nd round draft pick ADP 26th overall
(I am picking 7th of 10 for the record this friday)
Quickly for the record I don’t really care who the starter is week 1. I think whoever it is we are going to destroy the Giants. What do you think the chances are that we see something similar to the game last year where Vic did not name the starting QB until gameday at some point this season? (not for week 1) Want to say that was against the Jets? Not sure. Thinking we see that at some point between Lock and Teddy, but just a hunch.
Excited for the season with you guys and really looking forward to seeing this defense in a full game. One last quick thought Vic’s 3rd year in Chicago is when that defense was outstanding. Think we are going to see an exceptional defense this year!
Casper
Fellas,
I have a list of QB’s that I would like your opinions on what their records would be if you placed them as the starting QB for the 2021 Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning
Tim Tebow
Kyle Orton
Jay Cutler
Jake Plummer
For the sake of argument, assume that each guy will have an average season to their standards.
How say you?
TrueChampFan24
My Peoples!
Love the coverage despite what some youtube commenters say.
I was watching some other Broncos content and in the video the guy is explaining why the Broncos will finish last in the AFC West and his argument for the Raiders finishing higher that Denver was and I quote “Henry Ruggs is fast”
That was it. So there you have it guys, Denver sucks because Henry Ruggs is fast. Sorry KJ.
Also just ordered a Pat Surtain jersey
Twoods16
I hope drew is the starter, but I’ll support whoever wins the competition!
My one worry about teddy is if teams play bend and don’t break we’ll just take up long drives to get to the opponents redzone and then we either get a field goal or teddy has his redzone struggles like in camp.
My worry about drew is about his consistency. But how can one improve his consistency, by being the guy and getting the opportunity to be the guy.
I think either quarterback could take us to the playoffs, but I just hope we go higher upside.
I remember at some point in 2019 there was some talk about Vic Fangio not quite gelling with the players and some reports of a bit of a rift. I’m not sure if there was anything to those, but I’m kind of curious as to what you guys think (or know) of the players feelings towards Fangio. You don’t really hear the players say much about him and I even recall K Jack in an interview talking about his experiences with past coaches and he didn’t say much about Fangio. I know he has a lot of respect as a defensive mind but do players feel the same way about him as a HC?
At what point did the narrative change on Teddy? Before he was injured he was seen as a promising young QB who had led his team to the playoffs and a pro bowl. He gets injured, looked like the guy he was projected to be as a 1st rounder with the Saints and then had a mediocre year on a Panthers team with not much talent and questionable coaching.
I get that he doesn’t have a lot of arm strength but I don’t know how this guy went from future franchise QB to scrap heap guy when it’s not even like he had an extended period of diminishing play. Do you think it’s fair that so many feel “the book” on him has been written?
PismoBeachBroncos07
Why are fans reacting so hostile to one another? Can’t we all just stick together? Why are people so culty supportive of Drew and conversly why are people so fiece in their disdain for him? Here’s a thought, not everone has to agree about everything all the time. Maybe politics has people treating each other this way, I dont know. I just dont get it. Who cares who you want, Teddy or Drew or someone not even in Denver now? It’s fine to believe what you want. I just dont get this whole notion that if you dont support Drew, you need to find a new team like I see on Facebook. These are professional athletes. The NFL ISN’T FAIR. We need to stick together and remember its the Broncos organization that has created this messy situation, not your fellow fans. All we want is to see victories and if you’re like me, I also am tired of hearing about this golden age of passing offense. Im ready to join the party!
Sir of Norway
Thank you for answering my question on the last podcast. If I may add to your enoyable discussion then, regarding Norwegian food added to your bar’s menu (sheep head, lutefisk, etc), I would propose a bottle of Linie Aquavit; a 200 year old Norwegian tradition. Linie Aquavit is a potato-based spirit, distilled in pot stills with a special blend of Nordic herbs and spices. The casks are sent on a sea journey across the world to mature, crossing the equator twice (that’s what differs a Linie Aquavit from just a plain Aquavit). On each bottle of Linie Aquavit, it is labeled both dates for when the bottle crossed the equator and which ship it was on board.
Just my tip for your bar, if Norwegian culture were to be a part of your inventory (and then you don’t have to force your chef to have a basket of sheep heads underneath the counter (try explain that to the police, if they show up).
I have a new question/challange to you: If you could make ONE decision on the Broncos organisation that would be executed just the way you wanted it to be, what would that decision be? It could be anything regarding ownership, management, players, etc.
(Also, your podcast is the best one I have found as I have searched for many different podcasts about the NFL and some of its teams in the league. Keep up your good work, you are awsome!)
Bronco_in_SD
Wow another week! This gives me faith in Vic and Patton. Good work fellas.
Also the Athletic ran an article and based on a poll of NFL agents Patton ranked as the most trustworthy GM and 2nd best at evaluating talent. That feels good.
Bring on game 3!
