I’ve been catching up on pods for a while now, but wanted to share a quick Shurmur take.

Ryan has said many times that the best strategy is to do what your opponent doesn’t want you to do. We all know that Vic never seemed deeply fond of Scangs, and maybe that’s because Vic watched Scangarello’s offenses and thought to himself that he wouldn’t mind having to face that iteration of the Broncos’ offense himself. On the other hand, Vic has gone head-to-head with Shurmur on a few occasions, and when they were division rivals, Shurmur was undefeated against Vic’s defenses. I really don’t think Vic makes this bold of a move unless he’s had some *long* nights trying to prepare for Shurmur’s offenses. And that’s why I *love* this move.

I don’t mean this as a slight, but am I correct in thinking that E Sanders has been more valuable as a decoy than an actual receiving threat in Shanny Jr’s Offense? I don’t feel like we talk much about decoys or guys that simply have to be guarded as a chess Piece as much as we should. In that light, who could be a FA we could add or keep (Riddick perhaps) that could play a similar role in the Shurmur Scheme? A guy that could draw coverage off Sutton? Would Robbie Anderson do the trick or will he cost too much?

hey guys first time comment been loving the senior bowl pods. do you think we could go tyler biadisz for center in round 2, and then trade back into the second to grab cushenberry and play him at guard or vice versa?

Thanks for the insight into the Senior Bowl guys, Dre, you are by far my favourite DNVR personality, you always seem to have so much fun.

My question is based off the assessment of Mase and Dre on the overall depth of this draft class being from pick 25 to (thump table)75! and the Broncos having four picks within this range. Due to the Broncos weak roster how many if any starters can we expect to see from within this range?

What’s up gentlemen just had to get on and gripe about John Elway. John has always been a good salesman and sometimes gets a bad rap. Although his swings on several QBs (and a HC, not giving any names) have been failures I think he is one of the better GMs in the league and has shown time and time again he knows how to put together a roster. For Christ sake, has any other GM ever created one of the best offenses and one of the best defenses of all time along with 2 SB appearances in 3 years? If you could name any dark horse candidates Jelway might target this offseason who would they be and why? P.S. the new DNVR app is great thank you guys for saving me the trouble of having to use safari.

Everything I have read about him indicates that he is a natural leader. He could be a day 3 guy to help build the locker room while also being a good special teams player.

Wanted to start off by saying I think PB&J is a punch food that is a great fill in for other meals. The same way that breakfast is effective at dinner PB&J is effective at almost any time of time, but that doesn’t make it a dinner food. If you have PB&J for dinner you’re having lunch for dinner. It’s great, but it’s not dinner. To me it’s lunch or a snack, it’s not breakfast.

Quick question for you. If you were GM of the Broncos for free agency what would you do? Who would you bring back, at what price? Who would you bring in and for how long? Guys like Chris Jones at a premium next to Shelby Harris is tantalizing with less expensive names like James Bradberry to keep prices reasonable while filling needs in a system that Fangio can use to optimize even average talent seems perfect.

Also I’ve kinda loved the idea of bringing Matt Moore to be the backup. He’d be familiar with the system, he’d be a good mentor, he’d be inexpensive, he’s a higher rated backup QB. It just seems perfect to bring him in. Thoughts?

I finally got caught up after all those marathon pods over the last week, all of which were great.

First, to the food that can be eaten for all three meals is steak. for example, steak and eggs for breakfast, steak sandwich for lunch, and a steak for dinner.

Second, living in Vegas and looking at the sky line of the city I can’t get the image of giant roomba out of my head since it was mentioned on the pod.

Third, after listening to Ryan and also Howard stern always talking about the bachelor, I gave it a watch and am getting weirdly drawn into the show. The bachelor definitely seems like he could be Trevor Seimian’s derpy pilot cousin..

Finally, a broncos related question, is there any chance that Elway is playing some kind of psychological game with Lock and not going all in and naming him “the guy.” Maybe he wants Drew to feel like he still has to prove himself and therefore giving him more motivation in the off season.

When individuals have posted on our discussion board about Mental Health I have always been on the side of the situation of being somebody that was willing to help. However, for the first time here, I have experienced the other side of the request. The start of 2020 has not been good to me. For a number of different reasons, but the most present one at this time is the fight that my Nonna (Pronounced Na Na – Italian Grandmother) will lose to Dementia in the upcoming days. This has impacted me in such a significant way that I was not prepared for despite thinking I was. Understanding that I myself am not a religious person, but that she is, I have asked some people to pray for her knowing she would appreciate it. One of those people was BurritoChad. I want to take this time to thank him for all the support he has given me over the past few days. Thought I knew how incredible this family is, but this has opened my eyes even more.

On a happier note. I have been looking for classic/timeless Denver Broncos pictures to frame. I have a couple different frame sizes 9×12, 11×14, 12×16, and 16×20. Any suggestions on pictures would be great. I am planning on just printing them from google to ensure I have as many options as possible! Willing to take any and all suggestions if other members have some as well.

When I first heard the Broncos were moving on from Scangarello and that they were going to bring in Shurmur, I thought it was a great sign that we are committed to Drew Lock and building around his skill set. The more I think about it and then remembering how Elway answered the Lock question at the end of season press conference, I am wondering if this now means we are going to take a long look at a Brady or Rivers this offseason. With Scangarello at OC it did not make sense. Now it would if they wanted to go that route. Thoughts?

Also, I still will cry every time I watch The Karate Kid and Daniel lands the crane kick. EVERY TIME!

Did y’all catch Elway’s interview with Steve Atwater at the Senior Bowl?

He said that ‘Shurmur would be a good compliment with Drew’ and ‘would take advantage of his talents’. Sure sounds like he’s the guy for 2020. 😉

Also, are there any conclusions we can come to with Mike Sullivan being let go? Does this mean they intend to be more aggressive in free agency? Do they want to repair some of the relationships with in house guys that might’ve been damaged by poor negotations?

Hey guys the more I think about it the more I say get me Viska in the first over Ruggs and Antonio Gibson in the 3rd. My reasoning is that you can get speed in almost any round, but you can’t get guys who are as versatile and weapons almost at any place in the field in every round. Imagine a backfield of Lindsay Lock Gibson and having Laviska Sutton and Fant spread out. What’s your guys opinion?
PS I cried two days ago when I rewatched the episode of The Office where Michael Scott leaves. I’m definitely a crier just like my dad.

Hey DNVR family long time listener and subscriber since July of 2019. First let me say I love the pod cast and have been a Broncos fan since the 80’s. I’ve always been looking for a podcast that gives me a ton of info and keeps me excited about every year and this is definitely it. Love the family community here and the many crazy off topic issues. You all keep doing what you do because I can’t make a day with out my DNVR pod. I posted today for the first time because I was looking thru my Instagram post and say a DNVR shirt, and was like when did I become a filler of DNVR on Instagram? And relived it was actually my ufc follow and it reminded me of how much this is a family and had to share. I wanted to share the pic in the post but I can’t but glad I can share the story. With that I’ll end my post and say GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2020 super bowl here comes the Broncos! Hahaha!!

Some thoughts on the Senior Bowls coverage I have seen this week.
1. This is the perfect draft for the Broncos situation with heavy WR, OT, and potentialy CB
2. Josh Jones seems to be playing his way into consideration at 15, a trade back to somewhere in the 20-25 range and picking him would also be awesome.
3. Jason Stowbridge looks like a guy with a great motor.
4. Like Gandy-Goldman even if he isn’t the speed guy we all think the Broncos will draft.

Really appreciated the coverage from DNVR and hearing Mase over on KOA. Never paid so much attention to this event in my life but it is great to have the outlets that allow me to stay informed. Will anyone from DNVR be at the draft in Vegas?
