Guys I think trading a second and bolles for Trent Williams would be fair for both sides. While I would definitely prefer a third, by trading for Williams the OT hole is filled and you don’t have to roll the dice about a guy falling and then we can pick a developmental guy of Munchaks choosing later. Doing this we can go all in to get Ruggs, Jeudy, or my boy Ceedee Lamb. In an age where it’s harder and harder to find quality O-line, you have to take your shots when they present themselves. Also I asked this when Mase was sadly out but here it is: Mase, did you have to go clean up after getting to talk to Tyler Biadasz at the combine? I can only imagine that you were very giddy!

If there was a company that did time travel tours but only to sporting events and could take you to any game, what game (games) would you attend?

P.S
Wash your hand with soap often and don’t shake hands until further notice.

Hey guys,
Me and the girlfriend are headed to Chicago this week for a little vacation. I was wondering if you any of you guys (Mostly Mase) had some cool food spots to hit up? We have a big list of stuff from Diner’s Drive Inns, and Dive’s and other similar shows, just was curious on if you guys knew of any hidden gems to try as well! We are driving as well because as any good midwestern knows “why fly? it’s only a 13 hour drive”

Thanks,
Go DNVR, Mark in Kansas.

Hey all nothing Broncos today instead I wanted to chime in on the BBQ debate as a Texan. I feel most people here are ok with sauce as some of the best BBQ places around have incredible sauce and stand by it. However I see BBQ as I do a steak, if a steak itself is made correctly, there is no reason to have steak sauce. If the brisket is smoked well enough and is cooked perfectly, there is no need for BBQ sauce. Love these off season debates.

I agree. And it’s starts with the quality of the meat. Heritage breeds / small family farmed hog or cow always tastes better than factory farmed chow.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa Zac! Texas is “at least 14 hours away?” Amirite, or are you unaware of Amarillo? Lol, Denver is a mere 6.5 hours from here. Planning a trip to Denver over Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully I can make it in to y’all’s new bar. And if you ever find yourselves down this way (which I realize is highly unlikely) some great Texas BBQ is on me.

Howdy guys!

Mase, I’ve been pounding the table for the Broncos to draft Braden Mann for almost 2 years now so you can be damn sure I’ll be rocking a #34 Mann jersey after he’s drafted. I’ve also been very high on Justin Madubuike in the second round. He’s a little undersized but has a very quick first step and uses his hands well. I think he’d be a great rotational piece along with Dre’mont Jones. What do you guys think? Who are some other defensive linemen and cornerbacks that the Broncos could target in later rounds as depth pieces?

I can’t wait to rep my Phil Lindsey “Homegrown” shirt this fall when my Aggies crush the Buffs at Kyle Field. Ryan, I’d love to have a little friendly wager on that matchup!

As always, thanks and gig ‘em!

March 9, 2020

I can no longer stand idly by while RK continues to spit blasphemy about French Toast being better than waffles!!! 10/10 times french toast better than waffles? No way!

I will agree that top tier french toast is better than top tier waffles. But the average waffle is way better than average french toast! Bad french toast is baaaaaaaaaaad, too eggy, too soft, blah! How can you mess up an average waffle? Not very easily. Also, waffles are way more accessible as a snack or meal when they are frozen. Have 5 minutes to make breakfast/lunch? Stick some of those bad boyz in the toaster, slap some peanut butter on em, and shower them in syrup. So good.

I live up in Fort Collins (insert RK side comment about my waffle take since I am from the Fort) and will be down in Denver this weekend! I will 100% stop by the DNVR Bar this weekend. I have to catch a game there! I find it so frustrating that most places in Colorado don’t play the game sound.

No question. Love y’all. Keep keeping it real, friends. So proud to be apart of this community.

Hey guys,
Congrats on the new bar! That’s such an awesome idea and definitely know where my first beer will be next time I’m back in town.
Broncos question, who is your favorite Bronco that maybe isn’t talked about a whole lot. My favorite was John Mobley.

Fellas! I am so excited about the DNVR Bar! As you know I’m a traveling medic. I can’t wait to get down to the new bar and mingle with the community. I have one request… Is it possible for you to accommodate Police, Fire and Denver Health medics? Before I started traveling I was a Denver Health paramedic for a long time. After a long week of working deep nights (9p-7a), I would sign up for extra shifts to take care of fans at the Broncos games, or be on the bike team that cared for the Rockies fans. There are several places in town that help PD, FD and Medics while on duty. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone in to order something to go, and had to leave before getting my food because we got a call for an emergency. It’s frustrating because I would often go 10+ hours without eating simply because we didn’t have time to stop and wait in line. Plus, it’s always a busy night for Medics on that side of town! I understand if it’s not feasible, but I know there’s a whole community of public servants that would love to support the DNVR while being able to serve the community at the same time.

Will there be discounts or a reward system for DNVR subscribers? There should be! (Notice only one exclamation mark.)

Mase, if you feel like touching your face, don’t grab a tissue. Go wash your hands and then scratch your face! ‘Merica! You responded to my hand washing plea with some songs to help, but you missed one. The intro to the podcast is perfect. It’s a little over 30 seconds, but anything worth doing is worth doing well! I’ve gotten so many weird looks in the ED today. As I start to wash, everyone hears “Broncos country is, sittin’ in the south stands…” Maybe it’s because I wasn’t singing it under my breath. I was definitely belting it out!

Guys I am so excited for the Bar! As a person who doesn’t drink to often I would love to have a place to hang out and talk about Colorado sports with other Colorado fans! I dont know if you guys thought about it but I would love to see you guys have an Xbox or something where we could play madden or other sport games vs each other! I always hear about madden leagues in the comments and I would love to play someone at the bar! Also I think we need a big old 75 on the side of the building! Keep up the good work!

So excited about the bar guys, I really wish I was up in Denver for the grand opening. It will certainly be a must-visit on my next trip home.

I am an Army MEDEVAC pilot, and if you guys would be interested, I would love to fly a flag on one of our missions and send it to y’all. If so, let me know the best place to send it (I’m assuming the mail address for the contact page?) and I’ll send it along with some flight patches.

Keep up the awesome work, thank you for making the off season just as (almost) engaging as the on season.

Congratulations on the opening of the new DNVR bar/restaurant. Gives me another reason to make a trip to Denver very soon. Hope to find you guys there the day I visit.

Besides t-shirts what other memorabilia are you guys planning on having at this new place? Some suggestions: beer glasses, shot glasses, green chill to bring back home, bobble heads of the three of you, etc.

Do you guys have a menu yet? What is the main dish that you recommend we all must try when we come to visit?

Keep up the good work and can’t wait for the next surprise.

I realized recently that I like you guys as much or possibly more, even, than the team. The “team” for me is comprised not only of players and memories related to specific games, but by ephemera and the entities that Otherwise define it – aka the uniforms, the fans and most importantly the voices that record the events.

To that end, when I order my Custom #75 Jersey should it read Mason or Mase ?

Hey hey ho ho, it’s Onion…BOOTY!

Chapter One:

We would do very well to re-sign Philly Will. Our defense thrives on versatility in the secondary. And odds are either KJack or Simmons will miss some time due to injury. Will can play anywhere on the defense, minus the defensive line. He’s always a shining light in the community and a breath of fresh, good-vibes air in the locker room. Can’t replace a Gary Bertier. Plus, Will can take over for KJack full time in 2 years. Double Plus, let’s keep this young, Colorado core together! What’d‘ya say?!

Chapter Two:

The phrase “to be honest” is a term commonly used by the tactless that betrays an appearance of composure. “To be honest, I wasn’t aware this salmon was cooked in the dishwasher. To be honest, the chiefs winning the super bowl wasn’t my understanding of how the events were intended to play out. TO BE HONEST, your immature if you use this language in an email!”

Epilogue:

The DNVR Bar is the greatest invention since Roller Coaster Tycoon on computer CD Rom. Speaking of, what’s your favorite computer game not in the Backyard Sports series?

With love and other endearments,

Hey guys .. why does Pff hate Drew Lock ?…. what’s wrong with him in their eyes i heard one of the host of their podcast say ” How much better was drew Lock then Joe Flacco honestly “. …..i wish i could sit in a room with them because i feel like were watching 2 diffrent games ….i saw a kid who can make plays but was under huge pressure because we had catastrophic play at tackle ….. And he did a lot with little talent …. They honestly think hes on the level of Josh rosen that if we were picking top 5 we shoulda considered taking a Tua or burrow smh …… I don’t understand why they keep crapping on him but they PRAISE GARDNER MINSHEW ….. No disrespect to minshew but he doesn’t look like the future he looks like a Nick foles gis skills seem limited to me ….idk what you think fellas ?

The DNVR Bar! Best idea ever! You guys just get better and better, so glad to be a part this amazing community. But that word is slowly loosing accuracy when describing DNVR. A better word would be Family, which I’ve seen before in some of your videos. From a family member that listens to almost every beat, so happy for you guys, congratulations.

Here’s a fun question.
There are 6 NFL teams that share a name with a vehicle model or manufacturer. I don’t know if any of you are car guys but can you figure out which they are? Answers in the replies to this comment. Which would you drive?

Ryan!!! Definitely get the chords and maybe the strumming pattern for the opening song of the podcast. I have been wanting to learn it but don’t have the ear to learn the chords from the music. Now on to funny stories that someone mentioned yesterday. This is mine. I have twin stepsons. I came home from work one day and as I am walking down the hall out of the corner of my eye I see one of the boy’s girlfriend straddle him on his bed. I went in my room and told my wife she should check on her son. She asked “why?” I said just go check. She does and yells at him to come in our room. He does. I also see his brother peeking in the room. She starts to chew out the one and from in the hall I hear the song ” there ain’t nothin wrong with a little bump and grind” his brother started playing from his phone. I spit my soda out of my mouth and nearly fell on the floor laughing. My wife scowls at me and tells me I am not helping. How the hell was I not supposed to laugh at that?

Congrats you guys! That’s crazy about the bar! Haven’t been to Denver in two years, I’ll be down for a game this season and will definitely be stopping by! So on to a quick couple of questions , how do you guys scout players? What are you looking for that makes a guy the guy you want? What film do you watch? How do you evaluate the talent? I love watching film and scouting players, but wanted to learn more about how to do it from you guys. Appreciate everything!

Congratulations on the opening of the bar. Hopefully I can stop by the next time I come home.
Zac glad you are back hope everything is going well for you.
My local curling club had our annual bonspiel this weekend so I didn’t get a chance to here Friday’s podcast till Monday at work. Being born and raised in southern Colorado I was more than a little miffed when Ryan said Colorado ended at Denver. Just when I think you couldn’t get any dumber you apologize and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF.
Then Mase said he wanted to explore more of Colorado, my first thought was you should take your daughter to the Sand Dunes, and right then Zac suggests it. Kind of creepy.
Just one bit of advice, I took my family there when my daughter who is now 30 was 2 at the time. I had a very nice camera and didn’t realize she was playing with it until it was to late. The fine sand got inside some how and ruined the camera. Tried to get it cleaned but was told it wasn’t worth it.
So keep up the good work and enjoy a beer for me on Friday.

You guys are kicking goals left right and centre! A tru inspiration to all.
Real quick, Draft talk… I’m confident that a lot of teams before the Broncos are thinking the WR group will be great in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and will want to use early picks for other positions of need. Your thoughts?

Idea: DNVR bar crawl.

1. Start the day with Brunch, and bottomless Mamosa 10:30-11:30
2. Breck Brew tasting session 11:30- Kick Off / Puck Drop / Jump
3. Celebrate victory with more Breck Brew
4. Start loud raucous argument about Sandwichs
5. Stand on chair and Yell “This ones for Zac!” hoisting a punnet of ice cream in the air that you wrangled from the wait staff
6. Lead a “pub choir” rendition of the Broncos pod intro song with that dude from pleasure horse (recorded to be played at the start).
7. Find Mase, stumbling around in the mezzanine level, arguing with Count Locula in inaudible long words that sounds like a scene from Hamlet. Turns out the count is real.
8. Drink Breck Brew
9. Look out the window and see John Elway, gleaming in white jeans, scoot by.
10. Go into the kitchen thinking it’s the bathroom and find RK trying to stuff an entire salmon into the commercial dishwasher
11. immediately leave the kitchen, glad you didn’t order the Salmon
12. Breck Brew
13. Literally, crawl around the bar.
14. Black
15. Wake up in the broadcast booth, covered in honey and pizza crust, rubber tubing on the floor around you and a sonic care tooth brush hanging from your mouth.

Congrats on the bar fellas! It’s only a matter of time before you debut a DNVR brew in collaboration with the good folks at Breckenridge Brewery. I wish I could be there for the opening, but I will definitely visit next time I’m in Denver. There’s nothing like having a spot to call your own and that’s entirely what this feels like. You all continue to make this experience feel more and more like family. Thank you for all that you.

Congrats on the DNVR Bar! Now I seriously need to make a trip out to Denver.

I only have two questions for y’all today:
1. What in the world is Queso Sauce? In 29yrs I have never heard of this. What makes it different from regular Queso? Is it a different consistency?

2. Will Ryan’s dishwasher salmon be featured on the bar menu?

Hey guys,

As a Broncos fan in Michigan I can say that sports has been rough here. At lease we have decent college teams. I hear that Michigan State got a new head coach that has everyone excited. I saw a state earlier this year saying that Detroit had the most losses in a single year of any city so wish us luck.

My question for today is what is your guys favorite food and why? Mine is Lasagna and get it every year on my birthday.

Thanks guys, congrats on all your success and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Hey dudes! Happy belated birthday RK, happy belated anniversary Zac, and congrats on opening the DNVR Bar! I’m excited to check it out in my next trip to Denver. Do you have any plans to offer shuttle rides from the DNVR Bar to home Denver sports games? My fiancee is finishing her masters program in Milwaukee, and a good number of bars scattered around the city offer a shuttle to and from all Brewers and Bucks home games. The only cost to ride is the drink you buy from the bar which you can bring on the shuttle with you! The Brewers shuttles even get you to the stadium early enough for tailgating. It’s at the top of my list of favorite parts about Wisconsin. We have nothing like this in the state of Minnesota, and it’s one most fun and practical ways to get to a game.

Hello again, Gentlemen,

First off, congrats on the Bar! I don’t live in Denver but I will certainly be popping by the next time I visit.

I’ve heard a couple of different people over the airways discuss the Broncos as a potential landing spot for Derrick Henry. Are we actually pursuing him? Or at least going to actively try if he becomes available? What would you guys think of this fit if it were to happen. I worry it might end up being like the Demarco Murray and the Eagles situation…

Also RK, my wife is a huge cheerleading fan so she made me watch the UCA championships over the weekend (national championships for cheerleading). I make her watch all the Broncos games so I figured I would return the favor. Anyway, I saw that Chip won in the mascot category(!) I know absolutely nothing about what the competition entailed or who he competed against, only that he won but I figured I would congratulate you on the success of your Alma Mater.

Once again, have a great week and thank you for everything you do!

I believe both a congrats AND a thank you are in order here. Wow! Raising the bar is only way to put it for what you guys are doing. Haven’t really introduced myself since joining the fam last year but I grew up on the western slope of CO and bleed orange and blue. Raised by a single mother, I didn’t have that male role model or hero to look up to in my house. I loved sports and am so grateful my mom was signing me up to play all of them so that I could do what I loved without needing a dad around to push it. I was seven years old during Elway’s rookie season, and he became my super hero who I would watch every Sunday save the day. The Broncos filled a big void in my life, and my connection to the team runs very deep. Now 43 years old, I’m living in Southern California with my wife and two kids and have been since 2007. My connection to the team has remained the same, but being out here makes it hard sometimes. Rolling with you guys gives me that same feeling I had back as a kid on Sundays, and I can’t thank you guys enough. I’m so excited to catch up with you guys at the DNVR Bar on one of my yearly home game trips! Congrats again – well deserved!

2. Are you guys going to give subscribers custom monogrammed beer mugs or shot glasses with out handle we can use for watch parties?

3. For Mr. B

4. Which room is mine? I’ll even come out at closing time to help kick the riff raff out, myself excluded of course

I hope this makes the cut in time (IT DIDN’T! Here’s the repost), but I needed to share my favorite kitchen nightmare:

A couple years out of high school, some friends and I were having a house party. After a massive thunderstorm, and more than a few drinks, we got pretty hungry. The power was out, but thank god for gas stoves! We settled on mac & cheese on the stovetop. We were resourceful in using a large bottle of water to make our snack. Now comes meal time. The food was incredibly bitter, and upon further inspection, it was determined that vinegar is not a good substitution for water. Drink responsibly my friends!

Secondly, I wanted to share a funny story with you guys… on Friday, I picked up my son from school and the pod was rolling at 1.5 speed, my son, who’s 7, and he said, “Dad, these guys speak really fast.” I then was able to show him the speed control on the podcasts, I put it at half speed and we started cracking up! It sounded like all three of you guys had a few too many breck brews! My son and I were busting a gut laughing all the way on our 20min commute home! And man, Zac’s laugh at half speed…priceless. Thanks for being a part of a memory me and my son will never forget. Thanks guys! Looking forward to free agency and the draft! Keep up the good coverage!

The DNVR Bar sounds awesome… stoked for y’all! Wish I lived in Denver so I could come check it out.

Y’all were way lower on the idea of a first round tackle than I am. Yes, this is an extraordinary and historic receiver class, but we do see good receiver classes all the time. We don’t see good tackle classes very often, and this is one of em! To me, the ideal way to address the needs this offseason is to go with Andrew Thomas, Tristan Wirfs or Jedrick Wills with the first pick, grab a round two receiver like Hamler or Viska, and grab Mase’s guy Biadasz in the third, or trade up if you need to.To fill the need for speed, sign Breshad Perriman in free agency. Give him a 3 year, $ 27 million contract, but front load the first year’s guarantees and give the team an out after a year or two because Perriman is a bit unproven with only one good year. Anyway, like Mase knows, this team just needs more UCF representation! Bouye on side of the ball, Perriman on the other, maybe Bortles as the veteran backup QB??? (*Cue Mase cringing and shouting “no!”*)

Forgot to include my kitchen nightmare story, so here it is!
Nowadays I drink my coffee black, but when I first started drinking it in high school, I discovered that egg nog makes the world’s best creamer. The thick, creamy, eggy goodness could really inject some liveliness and flavor into a bitter and watery cup of Keurig coffee. Side note, if you use a Keurig to make your coffee, you’re doing it wrong. That stuff is nasty. Anyway, my basic conclusion was that egg nog makes a good substitute for milk.
That brings me back to my college years, on a nice, warm Florida winter day, when I was craving mac n cheese. I had already boiled the macaroni and was ready to finish it all off when I opened the fridge and realized we were out of milk. So, I did what any logical person would do! I pulled out the egg nog and poured it in the pot along with the fake powdery cheese and cooked up the most foul smelling, gut wrenching thing ever made. That kitchen smelled for days on end and my roommates were certainly less than pleased.

Omg! I can’t wait to swing by the Bar!! While working the other day I noticed this new place on York and Colfax. I’m sooooo freaking excited for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?? Appropriate amount of explanation marks for this one. #sorrynotsorry. As I’m writing this the comment of the French Horn came up and it made me smile. I’ve learned about a dozen instruments in my life, trumpet, French horn, Violin, flute, saxophone, and the list goes on and on. I miss playing. So very much. Gotta get ready for work and finish the pod. Can’t wait to see y’all at our new home!!! Love ya fam!

Happy belated birthday, RK, happy anniversary Zac and happy Bar Opening DNVR! Wow, so stoked for you guys… I totally agree with RK, I am 100% convinced that this will be a total success!!! To tell you the truth: this alone might persuade me to start planning my next Denver trip. Another reason would be to give RK some lessons in German to improve his pronunciation (Schadenfreude – let’s try Kindergarten, Poltergeist, Zeitgeist and Doppelgänger next).
Menu suggestion for the bar: how about Rocky Mountain Oysters???
Anyways, congratulations for the great idea, cannot wait to see the bar myself and to finally meet you guys. Maybe also in London?! When will the dates finally be announced? Flight and hotel tickets have never been so cheap…

How did you not name it “DNV Bar”?

Congratulations to you guys! It is amazing to see and follow this company become something big from something so humble. (I started in the community when AJ came aboard)

I can see other start up media outlets mimic the DNVR model. A central location for “fans” of the media outlet. You are true pioneers in the industry. I am impressed.

Hello fellas,
I’m sure you’re getting a lot of congratulations about the bar, but I just want to say thank you. The way that you’re explaining it you are changing my Denver sports experiencing. From the Broncos, obviously, to the Nuggets, and a little bit of the Avs. This Bar I can already tell is going to be one of my favorite spots to hang out in, and take a lot of my money. But I mean I just want to say thank you for being Denver and don’t ever change.

Okay so little bit of a story. Last week I had the flu and I was down and out. I kept up with the podcast whether I was asleep or not but did not have the energy to comment so I’m back now. Anyway, late one night I must have left Broncos highlights running on my television at lone and behold at 1am as I gain the energy to open my eyes just a sliver. There is heroic John Elway and the start of Super Bowl 32. I don’t know if it was passed grandfather trying to comfort me, but boy of boy was that game something. Mase, or anybody have you guys ever asked if Steve Atwater remembers anything after that friendly fire of a hammer he put on I think Crocket in that game? Or have given him a hard time about dropping an easy interception on Brett Favre?
None related Broncos question for RK, I know you went to CU and I go up there all the time to hang out with friends and we always play dye. It’s a points based drinking game and want to know or have played it? Or are my friends just new to this? Anyway would love to had you an L in this at the new Bar. Maybe put a T-shirt on it?

Sorry guys for the long comment, just happy to be back.

I hope this gets in on time!

The Coronavirus is a massive economic killer right now. I live in the Coachella Valley, home of the BNP Paribas tennis tournament that was recently canceled. Home of The Coachella Music and Arts Festival aka CoachellaFest and Stagecoach, both of which are likely being postponed half a year. That’s estimated at roughly ~$400 Million worth of income that is just gone. Several small businesses depend on that money. I wish locals would flock to that rather than the tolitpaper.

Rant over.

On another note I am so F****** proud of DNVR. As I stated previously I am a former radio broadcaster that was politiced out of a job, however I’ve been with this podcast through the early incarnations. When you win i feel like we all win and with everything that I’ve mentioned earlier, we all really need a win right now.

Congrats to everyone in BSN/DNVR history!
