So after the build your broncos segment I was thinking, if we resign Simmons, does it make sense to not pick up the option on Kareem Jackson but bring back Will Parks and grab a 3rd or 4th safety in the draft?

Von’s deal, if you look back at it, signing Von after SB was a huge mistake. Would’ve been emotionally hard not giving him a contract but if you remove emotion Broncos has got 0 success from that contract. Never, and I mean NEVER pay a player for what they’ve already done. You can’t bring in emotion when constructing a rooster. Von should be cut/reconstructed to a amount that suits his value.
I love Chelsea FCs policy of only giving 30+ players 1 year contracts, doesn’t matter if you played for 3 years and won everything with the club. You’re obviously a possible liability and if you crash and burn you’re gone the next year.

Might be hard to hear but you don’t win super bowls if you pay for memories.

Hope your weekend went well. Have a few things today. First off, just wanted to say how incredible the Three Ring Circus was this Friday. Really loved it. Also, this week I figured out how to use Discord and am now in the DNVR Lounge! I absolutely love it, it’s super fun to connect with other members of the DNVR family. But for now, I have to ask you guys a question. Do you guys have any tips on becoming really good at Broncos trivia? I have a terrible memory and while I dedicate all my free time to sports, I find myself not remembering a ton of trivia, especially trivia from 40+ years ago. So I would love to gather some tips and tricks from you guys, because you all seem to be really great at trivia. And I have to give my congratulations to Mase, that was absolutely insane on Friday’s show. I was awestruck by how quick you were able to get the answers. Also, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your book over the weekend. I’m very often a slow reader but I’ve read through a good chunk of your book fairly quickly (for me, at least). Just wanted to give a quick response to Nacho Brad. My company went remote, and I also lost my hour-long commute that was perfect for the pod. I started listening to it while doing chores. Folding laundry? Listen to the pod! Cleaning up dog poop? Listen to the pod! It makes the mundane things a lot better! If your wife wants you to clean the garage, take your time cleaning the garage and listen to the pod!

For me, I’ve always had trouble finding motivation to exercise my entire life. I recently started walking my dog 2-3 miles every day so I can listen to the pod and keep up on all things Broncos. I’m down 15 pounds and hope to start running soon. Any tips for beginners, Zac? Thanks guys for giving me something to look forward to while I put the work in.

hey guys!

so a couple of weeks (?) ago, i laid out my argument as to why the broncos should hire doug pederson to be their head coach next year. mase and zac mostly liked my take but said that doug would be expensive and also have a lot of options to consider;

that got me thinking. when y’all had your discussion about ‘what must the broncos do to get russell wilson to consider the broncos’, i went back at looked at the 4 teams that he considered. all 4 of them were coached by veteran offensive coaches, and all 4 of them were pass first teams. notice how none of those 5 teams had offensive co-ordinators came from the shanahan tree (so 49ers, minnesota, new york etc), so russ clearly wants to go to a team with an offensive head coach and one that runs a scheme that centers around the pass game.

i have it on pretty good authority that russ wanted seattle to hire doug to be the seahawks OC for the 2021 season, and the two have a pre-existing relationship going back to 2012 when doug went to wisconsin as the eagles qb coach, and spent the day working russell out.

mike garafolo did a bit on seattle radio and said that the seahawks probably won’t trade russ this year, but next year it’s definitely on the table. so if the broncos want to be in the russell wilson sweepstakes for 2022, maybe they should hire doug next year. what do y’all think?

Question: I seen a tweet from Mike Klis saying that fangio defense is being copied around the league. Do you guys have some insight on what’s being copied and why his defensive scheme is so sought after?

Guys can you talk about Davis Mills and what you think about his potential? Mase – I heard he went to Alabama during senior bowl week even though he wasn’t invited just to work out for teams. Did you see him there or no? I watched some clips of him and he just looks like an NFL QB. Thick build, good NFL arm, nice compact delivery. Very intriguing.

I just want to start off by thanking MY BOIS Zac, Mase and RK, along with everyone in the comment section for the hours of content playing in my ears. The day after Thanksgiving I started a weight loss journey, setting my goal of getting back to 230 pounds after years of inactivity due to old sports injuries and depression. I started at 293.2 pounds and Today, I have reached that goal hitting 229.2 pounds! 64 pounds that couldn’t be done with out the amazing content here from everyone at DNVR and the DNVRmy comment section! So thank you everyone!

Now to get back to our boys in orange, who is your favorite unheralded bronco of all time? Someone who doesn’t get nearly the dues owed to them? For me it’s House, Dwayne Carswell! With such big names and prolific numbers and like Shannon Sharpe and Julius Thomas I think house gets lost a bit in there.

Hey guys, 2 questions for ya! What positions do you see the Broncos filling in free agency other than a backup QB and a CB? I don’t think anyone is expecting a lot of action, but I’m curious what positions you guys think Paton might be targeting to fill out the roster? Also what kind of comp picks could we expect to get back for players that the team going to let walk? Thanks!

This comment is a week overdue so my apologies for bringing up old topics, had a crazy week last week and spent the weekend at a national skydiving competition so I’m behind the power curve.

I just wanted to mention two movies that I don’t feel got the recognition they deserved when you guys discussed great football movies! I agree with Mase that Rudy is overrated but how could he forget an underrated gem from ’91 by the name of Necessary Roughness?! I wouldn’t bill it as one of the best but its pretty dang entertaining for a comedy football movie. I’ll spare you the description because I’m willing to bet Mase’s encyclopedia of a brain can remember more details than me.

As for greatest of all times, how in the world did we forget the 1999 classic Varsity Blues? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll love the soundtrack, and I WILL fight someone over this!! LOL

The discussion this morning on Alex Smith really illustrates how much of a different world we are living in with Paton at the helm. We really don’t have much of a sense of what the thinking is in Dove Valley for this year or down the road. Maybe it is partly the silo effect from the lack of face-to-face interactions, but the Broncos seem to he staying pretty disciplined about leaking info. I can’t help but think that is a good thing.

Besides, it makes for more fun speculating with you guys for the offseason. Cheers!
