That game had me feeling as though I should return to my crypt for another long hibernation. It’s early, I know, but that game felt like it did when you went over to your friend’s house as a kid and they weren’t there but there mom lured you in with a cup of cool-aid and little Debbie and you had to wait in the living room for what felt like an eternity while you answers questions about things you never wanted to reveal to an adult.

I don’t ask for much, I just wanna feel good about this team. I’m not in panic mode, but maybe that’s becAuse I’m too jaded.

Fellas,

How much better would Russ’ stat line have been if Court doesn’t quit on his route, Jerry catches the ball before turning to make a move, and the OLine gives him more than 1.3 seconds in the pocket?

Still not overreacting to what we saw, but I actually feel good about this offense. What was the biggest surprise from preseason game #1?

Are we really talking about cutting kickers after a preseason game? Do they not get to tweak things in these games too? If this is the way we have to evaluate them then O line is going to be a disaster this year. We know Maher can make these kicks he just needs to see a few go through imo.

Football has me – the symptoms are watching a preseason game twice, again with the highlights, and then a nice cutup of all Russ’ drop-backs some obviously-over-it Seahawks fan put together on X-Twitter.

Relieved Russ was not a liability- on my patented Cook-O-Meter I rate him as Line Chef. But, as the biz world puts it, I have identified three areas of opportunity for improvement.
3. The kicking in that game was mildly terrifying.
2. Pass rush giving time to let receivers find seams in the zone
1. Offensive line synchronization

I know that this was vanilla defense, but I’m nervous that if the pressure doesn’t get there in time, with a zone scheme the soft spots can get torn up. Especially with one specific tight end we play 2x a year, that feels like trouble. What is the best answer for protecting the gaps in a zone coverage when defending a dynamic tight end?

Russ having time correlated strongly with success. The O-Line felt like their timing was off, which isn’t a huge concern because they have tape to work off of.

After this game, I can not believe that we didn’t play starters in the pre-season last year. It was ugly at times and I know plenty of believers think that not winning this preseason game means we’re going 0-16 with a washed QB.

But literally, Game 1 of the regular season looked like that last year. Having WEEKS to prepare now until it counts is HUGE.

Before the fanbase gets too toxic around here… what was your opinion of the fans while you were playing? What’s your opinion of fans booing their team?
