You two have really nice Chemistry – Dre and Mase. I loved this last podcast. Certainly a different feel from the typical, but it was fresh.
I don’t have any football questions, but being a huge starwars nerd and it being the off-season …I was wondering how much either of you have: watched (movies/shows), read (books/comics), or played (games) of Star Wars?
Just a couple trivia pieces too 😉
Is Boba Fett a Mandalorian or not?
What unusual items did Grand Admiral Thrawn study in order to gain knowledge of his opponents?
A:
(No, being “Mandalorian” is a culture, and Boba was only raised as a bounty Hunter)
(Thrawn studied Cultural Art to understand how his opponents’ minds worked)

Check out the Midichlorians on this guy ?
Oh how I miss playing SWG ?

Hey Mase,
Lloyd Cushenberry III is getting his degree, when Tyler Biadasz is not. Just sayin’..
Haha, just messin’ with ya, my Buccaneer Lovin’ Buddy, and yes, I’ve been drinking, again.

Interesting fact, the Broncos now have the 2017 and 2018 assistant coach of the year on their staff. Why do you think the public perception of Shurmur has changed so much the past 2 years, besides not winning enough games with an atrocious NY Giants team? He obviously knows X’s and O’s, And the more I research Pat Shurmur the more I think Elway/Fangio made the right choice.

Mase throwing some George Jones references in there!! To quote Stepbrothers “Did we just become best friends?!?!”

Also, for the DNVR fam, there used to be a well trafficked Broncos forum known as BroncosFreak that had a pretty awesome community. Lest I checked it appears to have stay afloat as a Broncos news site til around 2017. I spent many hours talking Broncos and everything else with a ton of amazing fans their for many years and really enjoyed the meet-up I made it to in 2009 vs the Browns. My handle was “nj10” On that site. Just curious if any of that old crew has made it over here. Comment and let me know.

Never was a part of it but if I’d definitely get down with a Broncos forum here on DNVR.

Love hearing about the potential risers in this upcoming draft, great insights guys. As always I’m wanting to hear about a UK player too, Logan Stenberg, OG listed at 6’6” 320lbs. A part the Wildcats Big Blue Wall as a starter for the last 3 seasons and is an absolute mauler. He can be a force in the Broncos running game and from what I’ve heard is expected to go anywhere from the 3rd-5th rounds. Just wanted y’all to keep an eye on him and get your thoughts on if he’s a potential fit/need for the Broncos. Keep up the good work. Next year we can draft Drake Jackson as our center and start to form our own Big Blue Wall in Denver!

By the way Mase, Max Duffy doesn’t believe he will make it as a punter in the NFL. He feels his style doesn’t translate to the NFL game, not enough hang time and you can’t roll out punt in the NFL which is what he does. While he can punt with either foot on the run and gets a perfect roll every…single…time, it doesn’t look like he’s in the cards for us next year.

A new “old school country” artist for you Mase, try listening to Tyler Childers, I think you’ll dig it.

Another vegan here, of nearly 10 years now. Best thing I’ve ever done, and wish I’d done it sooner.
Haven’t mentioned it until now though, as that’s usually the first damn thing us lot do when we enter a room ??

Is this the year Elway takes someone from the tide?
Best meal in Mobile so far? For both of you.

Is there a Taysom Hill – type player in this draft that you guys would take a chance on?
I know it doesn’t seem like the Broncos’ style, but it’s fun to dream.

Hey Mase,
I had a question about the shrine bowl. I was wondering if you got a good look at Ron’dell Carter from JMU. I saw a few highlights from the game but was wondering how he did in practice that week and if you heard anything about him?
Thanks guys.
Shaggymcloviniii
Also sorry for 2nd comment. But because of the pro bowl is becoming a boring game. Why don’t they replace the star players who don’t want to get injured and collect two teams of all the practice squad guys. They will one want the money, play hard, and chance to get a better shot on teams. Sort of like the rising stars in NBA but more of discover the star! Brandon marshal is a player that I believe bounced around practice squads and could have allowed him discovered faster. You could also have assistant coaches to help see who may work better for promotions. Thoughts?
OklahomaBronco58
Mase since you were at the Shrine Bowl last week what were your thoughts on Parnell Motley, cornerback from Oklahoma? He had a bounce back year under Alex Grinch this past year and he really started to get his confidence back this passed year. He played well against Jamarr Chase in the Peach Bowl even tho nobody else in the secondary did that day. I know he’s not a guy that will go high in the draft but he might be worth a look in the late rounds.

Also I’ve been behind on my pods and I have an evil twin now?? Who knew!! Good to have some more Okies on here!!

Hi all
I have created a DNVR Fan group on Facebook. Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/630492587765676/
Please feel free to join, talk sports, life, or anything, but more importantly, a place for support.

Hey guys!
Mase, after reading your article on Gradishar, I had a question that may pull on your heartstrings a bit. This is a one or the other. If only one player had to go to the hall of fame, who would you pick after defending each player’s case: Randy Gradishar or Mike Alstott?
I asked earlier, but I think this question got buried. Since Connor McGovern was moved over to center, the dialogue around him was his inability to get the snap high enough in the shotgun. However, that conversation all but disappeared this season. Do you guys think he’s done enough to continue as the starting center, or do you guys see someone totarget in the draft or free agency?
VilcaDan
Love you two as a team! I’ve been wondering about how scouting departments work, and hopefully you are the guys to ask.
Is the scouting department run by the front office?
Does the Head Coach have much, if any, control over scouting?
When a new Head Coach like Vic is signed, and he knows people in scouting on his old team whose opinions he trusts, would he have the ability to bring them with him? Or do they only work for their team and don’t move around?
Thanks guys, really appreciate all efforts you two put into traveling to these events so the rest of us feel like we have “boots on the ground.”

Hey Guys amazing content. I have two comments.
1. Crying at a sporting moment :- being from Wales (Uk) a country with a 3m population sporting focus has always been on Rugby. In 2016 the football (soccer) team qualified for their first major tournament since 1958. I was lucky enough to go to the quarter finals where we beat the tournament favourites 3-1. I sobbed in utter disbelief and joy. The national anthem was mind blowing!!!
2. Vic’s comments about corner and if you can cover you can cover. Does this mean that the Broncos may not spend big at the position as Vic may think it as unnecessary?
Thanks for all you do helps me get through the cardio and work session daily

What’s up gents? Quick question, Jeudy, Lamb, and Ruggs are all on the board, who do you choose? P.S. Do you think there will ever be a draft when every team has a serviceable enough QB to where there would be no QBs taken in round 1?
Samuelbissu
Hey guys, how well do slot receivers do on their first couple of years?, I would think they need experience to get the feel for defenses and to find the soft spot on the coverages, does it make more sense for the broncos to get a wr2 in the draft and a veteran slot in free agency?
I look forward every year to your coverage of the senior bowl, last 2 years the guys really nailed the info they got from their contacts.
Just read Mase´s article on Javon Kinlaw, if the 49ers beat the chiefs with 4 man pressure it would make a lot of sense to draft a dominate DT, I think our line would be better than the niners with him.
Keep up the great work

Dearest Sirs,
Please see the below proposal for a revised pro bowl…
Hear ye! Hear ye! I declare the traditional pro bowl—a sorry excuse for an athletic competition—evolve into a flag football tournament. And to the winning team go pay bonuses and donations to the players’ charity of choice. This alternative will reinstate competition as well as viewer participation.
That is all,

Couple questions:
1)the weigh-ins today reminded me of the debate last year w/ Locks hand size, has that been an issue that showed up for Lock this past year?
2)I saw somewhere that Josh Jones had an interview with the Broncos, did that happen and do you see Jones as a good fit w/ the Broncos?
Naterade
Also saw Jones arm length is a bit short. Is that a concern?
WyoBronco
Mase and Andre, I haven’t listened to the pod yet but can’t wait to here your insights!
Loved the background story on Kinlaw!
I’m still leaning towards a receiver at 15 but in today’s NFL we’ve seen what a great talent on the interior can do for a defense. If we don’t go for one of the big names in free agency I would definitely be interested in Kinlaw.
With talks of the 5th year option potentially going away in the new CBA, would it be worth it to try and double dip in the first round in this draft?
Last thing, have you seen much of Logan Wilson out of Wyoming this week? I am curious to see how he doing?
Thanks guys!!
TheOC
On the PBJ talk, break down Chicken and waffles. I’ve been to restaurants that have them on there breakfast menu, lunch menu, and dinner menu. I’ve even seen it as an appetizer. Also for what it’s worth Roscoe’s is overrated, while KFC’s actually pretty good!
Bronco talk, can everyone PLEASE stop comping jeudy to Julio. Different players. Jeudy comps to diggs, but with a higher ceiling IMO.
Screw This
After spending the last 3 months listening to the podcast I decided to subscribe and comment . I even started watching the Bachelor this past week and it is actually pretty good. I am team Kelley all the way. Anyways I was wondering what you thought about Jerry Jeudy falling to the Broncos in Daniel Jeremiah mock draft. I don’t see this happening but one can dream.
Glizlack
Great pod but where are the rest of the guys and girls??

Good morning Andre and Mase,
Can you rank these WRs in terms of speed, agility, catch-ability, slot route running, and what round you think they will go? I believe they are all at the Senior Bowl, and hopefully will be available in 2nd round and beyond, and should resolve our void of a speedy receiver in the slot.
KJ Hill – WR – Ohio State
Devin Duvernay – WR – Texas
Van Jefferson – WR – Florida
Brandon Aiyuk – WR – Arizona State
Feel free to add someone who is small and speedy, that I have missed off or don’t know about.
I am still torn on taking Ruggs or Shenault at 15, or going after Simmons, Epenesa or Brown; a real top quality defensive piece. Will post a question on CBs later in the week, but at the moment, for me, if Simmons is there at 15 we HAVE to take him.

In a world where Chris Jones gets signed (which I’m a huge proponent for) for 22 mil per year Along with Derrick Wolfe at 6.45 mil (on a discount), Justin Simmons at 14 mil, and James Bradberry at 7mil Per i would like to see offense as a POE in the draft. I recently indulged in a draft simulator mock draft and here’s what my draft would look like:
Round 1: Viska
Round 2: Prince Tega Wangoho
Round 3: Tyler Biadasz
Round 3: Cameron Dantzler OR Leki Fotu
Round 3: Devin Duvernay
Round 4: Akeem Davis Gaither
Round 5: AJ Dillon
Round 6: Antonio Gandy-Golden (LU)
Round 7: Punter/Back-upQ/DL
I think Dillon would compliment Phil well and is a full on power downhill runner and not a tweaner master of none like Royce. Living in this world, I realized we may not be as far as we think BroncoCountry, I mean one more kick butt offseason to stack on this one and last year may just put us over the top. I mean even with this tentative offense proposed above I see little to no glaring holes heading into the season
nemo_3
How far/ if at all would you guys be willing to trade up for Jerry Jeudy and Derrick brown respectively? Also, I anticipate you only having to trade up a few spots for either selection so what are you prepared to give up to do so?
JoeTurner_96
Hey guys, greetings from the Isle of Man. What are your thoughts on Donovan Peoples-Jones? I’m a big fan of his but I haven’t seen him being talked about much at all. Maybe it’s because of the deep receiver class? Am I alone in my love for him? Thanks for the podcasts as always and go Broncos.
dan birk
Just looking at Daniel Jeremiah’s mock here;
He’s very well connected in the NFL, and I trust that he’s done his homework with this. He has the Broncos taking Jeudy at 15. I can believe that CeeDee would be the first receiver off the board, but I’m not really comfortable waiting until 15 to get Jeudy.
That said- say we wanted to jump to 10 to secure Jeudy, the cost on Draftek’s chart is our middle 3rd rounder, and our first 4th rounder. Y’all doing that?
chilangobronco
Hey André and Mase,
Quick one. Should we resign Theo Riddick on a similar contract than last year?
GhilliedUpBronco
My comment must have come in too late yesterday so I’m re-posting. Dre!!! Brother I haven’t spoke to ya since the BSN draft party an you asked for me too drop my pod. I followed you on Twitter @JoelBaglio so we can spitball draft talk and grade mocks! Been waiting to spill my thoughts on this for awhile, I’m extremely high on Viska, like he’s a lottery ticket type of hype. I’ve struggled to accurately comp him to a former pro player. After watching his tape it would be a huge mistake not suiting him up in Orange & Blue; However I don’t believe that NFL teams are going to rank him nearly as high maybe even falls to day 2. I think it’s highly likely that @ 15 if Lamb and Ruggs are both there were could trade back with a team like the Eagles or even into the early 20’s and still secure Viska. He’s got elite body control and awareness for his size he possesses underrated breakaway speed an has playmaker vision that can’t be taught, in short he’s is just gifted with the ball like Tyreek Hill-esque. I don’t understand why many think he’s less of a prospect than others factor in his size and he’s just a freak and might even end up the best WR in this class. As far as Ruggs tape, I honestly was underwhelmed and he’s a bit overrated and to me he is just a rounded receiver with wheels. let me know your thoughts, also where you think Viska falls also I’m ready to redeem my free DNVR subscription shirt, but have no clue who to contact lol hope all is well and looking forward to the best Bronco draft coverage from ya bud, stay blessed!
Nathaniel Thiccett?
The NFL Memes page on facebook posted a photo that read “The future of the League” and pictured were Dak Prescott, Mitch Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, and Drew Lock, in some apparent attempt to poke fun at them. In the comments people were up in arms to defend Lock, like way too many people for it to just be Denver fans. I also caught up with an old friend this weekend who’s an Eagles fan and he started hyping up Drew before I could. Good to see him getting respect from around the league.
An article on CBS Sports predicts Bridgewater to NE, Brady to LAC, Rivers to TB, Winston to LV, and Carr to WAS. What do yall think is the likelyhood of this? The same article also predicts Shurmur will bring Keenum back to the Broncos ? please God, no!
