My boys! We all know how much George Paton covers draft picks and with our first and second gone this year I’m sure he’s not looking to give up anymore draft capital, BUT, I pose this scenario to you: Let’s say we get into the last few picks of the first round of the draft and there’s still a player available that is in the top 10-15 on the Broncos draft board. Do you think George would give up even more precious draft picks to trade back into the first round and get his guy? It might be hard to say no, especially if it’s a right tackle that could sure up the O-Line for years to come. What say you?

Mase mentioned Tom Brady’s highest paid year being 13.5 percent of the cap. Which leads me to my questions.
Over the last 20 years what is the highest paid QB (percentage to the cap) to win a Superbowl? Does this change the way you’d approach paying your QB1?
Why not pay Russ to a percentage of the cap, that way if the cap rises so would his salary. Thoughts?

G’day boys! Listening to yesterdays podcast when you talked about Rock n Roll part 2 bought back some memories on the only time I saw the Broncos play in Kansas City in 2005. We left Melbourne in 100 degree temps and flew to Kansas City via LA where it was below 10. Coldest day of my life! Dante Hall returned the opening kick for a TD and things only got worse after that. During that ‘song’ I had 1000’s of chiefs fan pointing at me chanting “we’re gunna beat the hell out of you” in tune with the beat. Then, when the game was finished, this little 12 year old punk came up to me and said “do you know what I like about you?” And I said “what?” He said “nothin!” His dad patted him on the head and said “way to go son”. They were the most arrogant, aggressive fans I’ve ever experienced. Whenever the chiefs lose a big game like last years Super Bowl or the AFC championship game this year, I think about that little 12 year old who is now probably 30 and hope he is crying himself to sleep!! Who do you guys think will end up being Russ’ favorite target by the end of this first season?

Praise be!! One of the most vile and detestable players in the NFL may be leaving KC! Hope the door doesn’t hit him on the way out. Without him the Chiefs will be way easier to game plan against! Kelce is great but he is slowing down and his game isn’t a breaker when you don’t have to also account for Hill on the other side. Likewise, Mahomes is still great but not having that duo will be an adjustment for him. Lets go!

Do you think there’s ANY chance Russ comes to Denver if Vic is the coach still? I think Russ laughs at George when he is told about the possibility of a trade here.

Also, do you think that’s why George fired Vic? To look more appealing to a potential QB in the offseason?

Watching other teams scramble for wide receivers is making me appreciate Paton that much more. We got two good receivers for the price of one elite receiver. Raiders gave up a 1st and 2nd round pick and will pay him $28M/year. Miami is giving up a 1st, 2nd, 4th and and two more day 3 picks in 2023 for Hill and will pay him $25M/year.

The Adams trade makes a bit more sense to me because of how he pairs with the rest of the Raiders receivers. Miami’s move seems particularly insane given who they have playing quarterback right now.
