I know there has been and will be lots of talk about the offense and I won’t rehash that other than to say I thought Drew played well under the circumstances, but his teammates did nothing to help him out. Agree with RK that this shows that the Bridgewater experiment was a failure.
I also have to say that I know the defense held the Raiders to 17 points, but they deserve a decent portion of blame in this game. In the second half, the Broncos only got the ball 3 times. The Raiders had drives of 9, 8, 13, and 8 plays and never punted. The only stop was the fumble in Broncos territory. The Raiders just literally ran out the clock on them. I’m not sure you get to be called an elite defense if you can’t get a stop when you need one.
Time to clean house (again) and take another swing. Gotta get a hit one of these times, right? Right?

Guys I know 2015 was only six years ago but it may as well be sixty years with just how much the NFL has changed since then. Offense is what the NFL wants to see and any team that isn’t looking to take advantage of all of the rules as part of their philosophy is a misguided franchise. You CANNOT consistently win the way we are trying to. You CANNOT!!
As a smart GM from what we can tell early on, I’m assuming George Paton has seen the evolution of the NFL and realizes what is winning games consistently around the league. I know keeping Vic as head coach has been discussed around the fan base because of how well he coaches defense, but is it really entirely out of the question that Paton would go to Vic and ask him if he would consider staying on as DC if he keeps the same pay he is getting now as head coach? Or maybe extend him as DC right now for a couple of years and hire a young offensive minded head coach that would love to have a guy like Vic running the defense? Vic isn’t getting another crack at head coaching at his age and maybe he is realizing he doesn’t even want to be the head coach. Might be an attractive proposition to him to keep coaching the guys he picked instead of going to a new team as a DC and having to take a few years to build a defense he wants. What do you guys think?

Watching this game just made me mad, but not because our defense ran threw all night. But because drew is clearly better than teddy. His problems are all mental, and you HAVE to give a guy more than a year to develop on the mental side of the game if he shows he has all the other tools. Everybody was so quick to write him off. You guys even said if he was a first round pick he’d have gotten more time. He had one year when the whole team was hurt so many things went against him last year. It so frustrating watching him ball out and just wondering what could have been if he started since week 1. I think we’d be a 10 win team at least. He showed he can hit the deep balls and he showed he can manage a game.
Tonight he was a better teddy Bridgewater. If we would have been able to run the ball even a little bit we would have won. The raiders said we’re not gonna let you run, drew lock beat us. And if it wasn’t for the receivers forgetting how to catch, I think he would have. If teddy starts another game this season I’ll be seriously disappointed. Drew should be our guy for the rest of the season. Also Zack imma send you some wet naps for that egg on your face, lol sorry for the rant.
You guys are the shit though
Keep being great ❤️

Hey Y’all,
What a rough game especially against the Raiders. Totally agree with RK’s sentiments following the game. Going with Teddy was the wrong choice looking back at it all now. I guess the WR’s developed soft hands from Teddy never throwing it to them and that’s why they dropped pass all game.
Would it make any sense trying to keep Ed Donatell after this season to try and keep the defensive scheme together or do you think they clean house after they put up another dud when we get smoke by the Chargers and backup Chiefs?
OhMaHa
I’m out on Jerry Droppy. Could be a hot take for sure, but if the last 6 years have taught me anything, it’s to know when to trust my gut on any given player, coach, GM or scheme.
Looking ahead, it would make absolutely perfect sense to include him in any package that would bring us a QB. He’s still young enough and still has a little first round shine remaining to garner some value.
Also would all y’all Lock Stans please stop? He ain’t it. Nor is Teddy. Nor is Vic, Pat, John Elway, or the Bowlen Family. Come to the light that is George Paton; he is the one ray of hope this franchise possesses.
Him and The DNVR, of course.
Happy New Year fellas, God Bless ?

Sorry but quick double comment. I want an Azzanni-OC & Lock-QB combo for the last two games.

That’s exactly what I said to my brother on the way home from Vegas last night.

Today is my 33rd birthday and I’m going to the game this Sunday in LA but I am now realizing I have an issue. Due to my weight loss over the past year (137LBs!) NONE OF MY JERSEYS FIT ANYMORE! Thankfully my new DNVR shirt is a perfect fit and will be rocked during the game! If anyone is attending let’s organize a meet up before the game or something! Would love to see Mase as well, though I know you’re just a little bit busy with…well working anBroncos!
go broncos and go DNVR!

Well not the result that I wanted for my first live game.
Disappointed that another season is over but proud to be a part of Bronco Country. There were a lot of passionate fans ready to explode in that place and it just never happened. The first half ending was awesome and took the air out of that place and if we would have came out and got a 3 and out on that first drive I think we win. We didn’t get it done on offense, on defense, and on the sideline with the coaching. Loss all around and the season ends.
Hopefully this offseason we get quality replacements for three of the four most important positions in our organization. We need the right ownership and George needs to find better coaching and the guy at QB.

The philosophy behind this team since they won the super bowl has been that you can win with good defense and an average quarterback. Fangio went into this season with the ultimate test of that theory. He has proven it to be wrong.
This is a quarterback’s league and the future of this team must be focused on that. Maybe we can get Russell Wilson but odds are we need to develop a young quarterback.
Fangio and Shurmur are both system coaches. If we want to develop a young talent we need coaches that can adapt. They cannot.
Time to reboot!

My boys!
I hope that everyone had a happy holidays across Broncos’ Country.
As of 11:30 AM Toronto time, still haven’t heard news of a firing so I’ll assume they finish out the season with the group that they have and make changes on Black Monday.
Question 1: With what Zac mentioned yesterday about getting a head start on talking to other coaches, does the new rule also apply to coordinators or just head coaches?
Question 2: I get the immediate reaction, but is it really best for the team to let Vic go? Demoting him to DC is unrealistic, but I’d like to keep him and invest into the offensive side. With Peyton, part of what worked was letting him control the offence and a coach take care of the D. From what I hear from the big fish on the market (Wilson, Rodgers) is that they want to control their own offence, not start from scratch with a new coordinator.
I wouldn’t mind if next season we started training camp with Vic left to run the defence as head coach and had an QB to manage the offence. Backup plan is they clean house and fall in love with a rookie, but I don’t know if fans have the energy to do what the Jets and Bears are doing.
All the best.

‘-Realistically what will it take to secure the number one overall pick in 2023 (Bryce Young), and why isn’t it done already? If we get Bryce we’re done with that position (the most valuable position) for the next 15 years. Who cares about 3 years worth of picks in the grand scheme of things. I think the closer we get to that draft the more teams will associate their pick with available players. For example, imagine trying to trade for the 1st overall pick last offseason. Not happening, especially when teams start to realize what player that pick
-I’m convinced mcmAnnus has dirt on Vic. He was clapping back after MISSING a FG.
-All our players are so wildly inconsistent. Is that an indictment on the HC?

What’s up my guys. Another disappointing season is almost in the books. I loved all your takes after the game, but I disagree with Zac. I think as time passes, Paton almost looks more justified in his actions, at QB, after last off season. Mac Jones looks good, but he’s very literally in the best situation a young QB can be in. Fields has had flashes, but he’s also had no shortage of rookie moments. Put either of those two in Denver (and remove Surtain) does the season look any different? I’m doubtful. As far as other QB options go, I might’ve preferred Minshew over Bridgewater…but at the end of the day, I think it’s hard to make an argument that Paton could’ve done anything at QB last year that would’ve put this team over the hump. Just my two cents.
Also, with 2 games left, are there any teams that looks like they may be able to top the 2013 Broncos record 606 total points?
Mile High Buckeye
My boys! How are Fangio and Shurmur still employed today? What is going on in Denver? Do they have something cooked up behind closed doors regarding ownership/head coach/OC/QB, or is the entire franchise just in shambles?
I refuse to believe the latter, but it blows my mind that nothing really has changed in six years. Makes my brain hurt.
Long live DNVR.

I’ve said this for a long time, I want Fangio to have a chance. He hasn’t been perfect, but his defense has been almost perfect since that Raiders game. I want to see Fangio’s elite defense paired up with an exciting offense. Drew’s footwork looks better, and without the drops, we probably win. I would love to see Fangio stay (maybe get a new challenge guy, that hasn’t been working out too well for Vic), McMahon and Shurmur go. Oh, and let’s make a new coach up, we’ll call it “Game Manager”, since Fangio clearly is too tied up in the defense to be that.

Also, did you guys notice the Bengals scored 41 after the Broncos held them to 15? Just adding onto that interesting stat from last week (about the team score the week after they play Denver)
