What did we say was the expectation of this offense going into the season with the full compliment of players?
A young offense with both flashes and frustrations. Through 15 games we’ve seen just that. The weapons are tantalizing, the talent is evident, but the execution makes Brek Brew a lot of money.
This is what we said was the expectation. Give the kids an offseason to grow and reload the defense with talent in the draft. Let’s let 2021 prove us right or wrong.
We should take a page or two out of the Nuggets playbook because toppling the Chiefs is going to be like beating the lakers for the next several years. There’s no shortcuts. We can’t afford to skip steps and I hope to god we don’t try to.
It’s a long road out of hell and we’re going to need each other as we make this journey so let’s be good to each other, Broncos Country. Love you all and here’s to better years than this!

You can’t go off script until you’ve mastered the script.
This is a young offense where everybody is still thinking too much. You need an unconscious understanding and trust about what every other player is doing before you can improvise. They need time and repetition to build confidence in each other.
The good news is that we know who is playing every position on offense next season unless they dump Lock. They can all spend the time to build that chemistry. Can you remember the last time that happened?

In RE: to my comment yesterday about bringing in a FA vet WR to mentor Jeudy –
Larry Fitz
AJ Green
TY Hilton
Are about the only options –
Other than that, how bout a hard ass like Rod Smith as a WR coach or maybe a more like able dude like Eddy Mac.
We have a young Offense, yes but very little leadership on that side of the ball, Not Shurmur/Not Vic/Not Really any commanding presence – Sure Sutton will be back, but I think an old Dude with Some
Skins on the wall could do this O some good.

Fellas,
It seems to me that we will be looking for a new special teams coach. If that does happen, who are some candidates to bring in?

Hey fam! Been a real minute since I’ve dropped a comment on the pod. But I’m still around. The guys in the Madden league, however, still hear from me plenty I’m sure. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to listen to the Pod as much as I’d like to due to multiple factors
1. Daddy of 2 kids under 2.
2. The craziness of 2020 tends to put sports a couple of notches down on the priority list.
3. Probably the most significant is that my boss at my warehouse job recently decided phones were a problem and can no longer be accessed for the duration of my shift. This cut my overall podcast consumption from about 20 hours a week on average to 3 or 4 hours due to the inability to listen while working.
Now to get to the Team before a TLDR becomes appropriate.
Firstly if anything I say or ask has been covered in recent weeks forgive me a gloss over.
1. I’m not worried about Lock or Jeudy yet, give them both another year and see where they go.
2. This may be a little early but who are a couple of Free Agents that will be available this off-season that the Broncos should look into.
3. This has been a uniquely difficult season to watch especially when a healthy roster could’ve affected so much. Which games did we win this season if everyone stayed healthy? Do you refer back to your original season predictions of around 10-6 or having watched this season does that change?
Sending love and Holiday wishes to the DNVR Fam
I have spoken, MileHighMike.
Asking for a friend
Were the broncos at their best, no COVID, no IR, a playoff team this year? If not-Where do they need to improve the ‘ol roster to move that needle? If yes- cool ? run it back
Screw This
For those saying Juedy is a bust I would like to point out that Davante Adams his second year had very similar problems as Juedy. He had 12 drops, 53%catch rate, and 1td. Not to mention he had Arron Rodgers throwing him the ball. Juedy will be fine. He has had three different quarterbacks throw to him, a limited offseason, and the chemistry between him and Lock has been terrible. But he still has over 700 yards in basically 14 games taking the saints game out. Another thing I notice Sunday was that Lock was stepping up in the pocket a lot more. I feel like this game was one of his best games at reading the field. They didn’t condensed the field as much as previous games. Hopefully this week we see Lock take another step in the right direction

You guys kinda blew over it at the time but, how’s Vic gonna trash the QB room but have a pile of empathy for AJ?
Kendall Hinton, Hall of Famer
Didn’t get the chance to say it yesterday, but I hope you guys had a very happy and safe holiday!
If the 49ers draft a QB high this year, is there any world in which a trade could be made for Garoppolo? He’s injury prone and people are divided on him, but he could provide good competition for Drew or just be a better hedge than someone like Darnold or Trubisky (neither of which may be available). It looks like his dead cap drops to almost nothing for 2021 and 2022. Thoughts?

Random rant here. I really wish the NFL would change the timing of the draft and free agency and flip flop them to have the draft first somehow. Nothing about the way they have it now makes sense to me. You are supposed to build a team through the draft and fill major holes in free agency. Right now teams are having to reach in the draft for positions of need instead of really trying to build with talent by taking best player available with the majority of their picks. The overall quality of the NFL on-field product would be better if the draft was first. And I know the NFLPA wants the veterans to be cashing in as much as possible and think changing the timing would hurt that, but I think it would do the opposite. Teams would be more desperate to throw money at free agents to fill glaring holes in free agency if it was after the draft. Right now a lot of teams are waiting for the draft instead of spending their money.
Final thought on this – if we didn’t already sign Case Keenum to big money in FA in 2018, do we draft a QB at 5 or even trade up to get Darnold that year?
Andrew Mason
I don’t think the Jets’ plan to move up would have changed, so I think the Jets would have still jumped the Broncos to get in position to select Darnold.
