Greetings Pod Gods!
I am catching up after some difficult times that kept me out of listening for a couple weeks, so please forgive me if I cover something you mention.
First, thank you Mase for recently mentioning Ernest Hemingway’s six toed cat family. I have a six toed cat and everyone thinks she is a freak at first. Then I tell them the Hemingway story and they think I am a freak instead.
Anyway, just wanted to know if you guys have any Halloween traditions you enjoy doing, whether you may or may not be able to do it this year? Favorite candy or movie? Parties? Staying in?
I imagine Zac at home with his cats, dressed up of course, greeting Trick-r-Treaters with a “my boys!” Ryan at the DNVR bar half dressed up, half phoning it in. And Mase taking his daughter door to door and then watching a movie that is probably above her age range. I don’t know if it has happened in Denver but in California, almost everything Halloween has been canceled.
Happy Holidays fellas. Football season is the most wonderful time of the year.

I’m with Mase in that getting Lock back makes the schedule change a net positive. This season is about making sure Lock is The Guy and building a team around him. Anything that gets Lock on the field for an additional game is a massive bonus, regardless of competitive balance.

I’m not at all concerned about having to play 12 straight weeks because that’s not happening: COVID is still in uncontrolled spread and the chances of this being the league’s last disruption are slim and none.

Hey gang.
I was looking through ESPN and they had a clip of Keyshawn Johnson and Jay Williams reacting to what Fangio said about COVID bringing out the whiners and bitchers. They called him tone deaf and said “dudes like that don’t deserve coaching jobs.” They also brought up the fact that Von had COVID, and didn’t really elaborate why that was important to what they were saying. I don’t normally take ESPN commentators words seriously, but I feel like they really didn’t pay attention to what Vic said. Maybe I missed something, but his overall message seemed to be that a schedule change shouldn’t be an excuse to whine and complain about the NFL when they all knew about it going into the season. It seemed more like a message to galvanize the troops than to throw shade at the players. Again, maybe I missed something, but I am curious about what you guys think.

My boys!
This schedule change I think helps the Broncos in the long run. Any game where they get drew under center is more valuable than a week off. I also think mentally this could help the Broncos get up for this game and play angry. It brought me back to being a junior in high school. As a wrestler, we had wrestle offs a couple of times each year to determine the varsity lineup. I grew up on a farm 25 minutes from town and had the guy below me request a wrestle off. Now there’s nothing that would make me angrier as a weight cutting farm kid who now had to wake up an hour early to do farm chores and get to school early on a cold winter morning. Well the challenger, a town kid, decided to sleep in and miss the wrestle off. When coach told me he was rescheduling to the next morning my motivation to dominate was through the roof. Needless to say i mopped the floor with that guy and wasn’t challenged again! Anyway, I hope the players save their anger to take out in the pats and drew plays lights out. Go Broncos and go DNVR!

Hey guys!

I know you poo poo’d the idea yesterday, but DNVR just partnered with Brandon “my beard may spontaneously combust if I don’t tell a joke about Phillip Rivers’ siring a baseball team and moving that team out of San Diego at least once an episide” Perna. He and Will would go ham over hosting a show called the Master Debators. Just sayin’.

Also, since Justin Herbert has come up multiple times recently, here’s his automotive equivalent: he’s a Camero with an automatic transmission. It looks good. It’s powerful. It can be fun to drive. But at the end of the day, you don’t have a clutch. He’s a perfect fit for a chargers team that invents new ways to lose every year. Let’s see how he develops before we entertain how he fits in the QB rankings within the division

hey guys;

i’m not usually THAT kinda fan but do y’all think the broncos were too hesitant to let brandon staley go? his defense has been playing great in LA, despite all the challenges that came with learning a new system this year etc.

do you think they should’ve promoted him to DC or gave him a co-ordinatnor title (‘passing game co-ordinator’) to keep him around? i saw an article where some league sources were polled on future head coaches and they said staleys name was red hot and he’ll be a HC in the next few years. they could’ve let vic be a traditional HC, let donatell officially coach just the dbs and had staley call the plays. what do y’all think?

Whats up guys!

The games played by our division opponents over the weekend got me thinking.. Are we the worst team in the division? The Chiefs, well the Chiefs are the Chiefs. The Raiders don’t look like they’re joking around and Justin Herbert has been really impressive in his first few starts.

Right now I feel like we’re the little brother in the division. Always getting told to stay inside while the big boys play, because we’re not old enough yet.

Could you guys shed some light on this to try to lift my spirtits? Thanks again for the awesome coverage, you guys rock!

I would never stand in front of a paraplegic and complain to them about how sore my legs are. If you make six to seven figures and talk about how tough your job is on social media you are gonna get criticized. But socio-economic status aside what that Broncos twitter display reveals is that these players are capital S O F T, Soft. You’re a 1-3 football team complaining about how you got the shaft? Zero fire. I’ll ask it again where is the heart of this team? The leader? Kareem who? Justin who? Melvin, Phill, Dalton who? If this team does rally behind a leader and get a face to this organization we are gonna get our twinkies hoho-ed for the next 5 years by the Chiefs, raiders, and chargers. Culture is in need of change. In the words of Aquib Talib “All the dawgs are gone”
Name a non QB player in the NFL you would put on this team today that would bring the fire?

Hey guys! I might be in the minority, but I’m actually looking forward to the extra week for the Broncos. That gives us one more week for Drew Lock, Phillip Lindsay, Noah Fant, AJ Bouye, KJ Hammler and Jeremiah Attaochu to return to the field. Plus it gives us an extra week to prepare for the Chiefs since we’ve already implemented the Patriots gameplan, don’t forget that KC will be on a short week in their game against us. That small advantage could be crucial.

My question is about Justin Herbert. I wasn’t impressed with him in college, but the kid looked good last night and early this season. As a fanbase, should we be concerned about an emerging franchise QB in LA, especially with Patrick Mahomes already in the division?

THANK U RK !!! UR SO RIGHT …people need to act their wage ! It’s like I said to Stoke in our brief exchange on Twitter ….. So players like Justin , Kareem, Jerry jeudy von etc ….when their in the community protesting and speaking against social INJUSTICE their considerate of what people are going through but when they complain About unfair circumstances within the confides of their Job and their saftey of their bodies that helps them do their Job their whining and inconsiderate of what’s going on in the world which one is it Stoke ?? Smh ……

Anyways ….. Justin Herbert is really starting to irk me ….. Because we rejected him we were grateful for drew said elway please don’t draft him and the dude looks AWESOME …..I mean is his arm better then Drew’s cuz I’ve seen this kid throw prettier deep balls beautiful accurate deep balls as oppose to drew ….. Now I’ll be fair drew is much better with pressure then Herbert is but I mean geesh his average depth per target is insane however I think drew may have better touch then Justin because justin short game doesn’t look all that great …..man idk ….WHY CANT WE TAKE THE FOOTBALL I.Q. AND THE ability to step up in to the pocket and call proper protections from brett Rypein and combine it with Drew’s talent !!! Dammit drew ?!! I believe in you so much and I want you to work out but dude herbert looks legit and he’s not going anywhere and then there’s that guy Patrick ….. We need to see more of ur arsenal and Step up in the pocket and (even though herbert is bad about this too ) STOP THROWING OFF UR BACKFOOT DREW JUST STOP !!!! …… I’m super excited for week 8 because that’s a huge storyline for drew …. This is the guy elway wanted but he took a chance on you because he chose to stay another year are you the guy drew or was elway right on herbert hmmmm …. We’ll see week 8 !!!!

Gentlemen,

WHAT a game of Football I witnessed last night. Truly a match-up for the ages. I was slightly perturbed by the fact The Saints were ALL wearing gold cleats, so decided to root on the Bears in this one, to teach this pretty-boy white and gold bling gang, what 46 Bears Football is all about..

We got to see a nice early back-and-forth, and not one but TWO Hunter Henry Rushing Touchdowns, as well as a whole lot of 335 Saints Defense – with a QB Spy on Matt Ryan all night; bizarre! That didn’t bother Matt Ryan in the first half though, as he scrambled out wide on a broken play and steam-rollered LB Deone Bucannon in the 3rd Q for a 10 yard gain. I didn’t know Matty Ice had that in him.

The game went back and forth some more, until the monotonous 3rd quarter screen game of the Bears was figured out by the equally familiar 335 Nickel D of the Saints. Some clutch passes by Adam Thielen throughout the evening were nice, but not enough, as special mention goes to Patrick Queen, who picked off Matt Ryan twice, whilst in his aforementioned QB Spy, and was the difference in the game.

Bears go down at home 28 23, and of course, this wasn’t yet another random Covid rescheduling of a game, but Zac vs RK in the DNVR XBox Madden League. Thanks for streaming guys, had little else to watch last night, and you gave me a couple of tips, and a couple of examples of what not to do. Haha, just messing fellas, was good fun to watch.

Roll on the next one

Peace out

I agree with Race City Bronco. The extra week is crucial to gameplanning against the anti-christ himself and gives us a chance to be healthier than ever. That defense was going to be tough regardless of our QB, but I’d much rather have Lock in the fold against Cam than Rypien against Stidham/Hoyer. Against Tennessee, Lock was one overthrow to Hamilton away from us saying “Lock is the Drewth”. The Broncos need to be pissed off at the Pats for stealing the bye week and use Von’s mindset: “We’re going to beat their ass.”

We have to keep adding tackles and edge/interior d line otherwise we will not compete for this division. Even Carr is going to keep kicking our asses.

End of story. Well almost …

MAYBE..the NFL’s poor handling of the corona virus might get our superstar outside linebacker several games on the field in 2020.

If 104thefan doesn’t make him say (SCREW THIS IN AN ANDREW MASON voice)…

But really….. Which ailing players on our roster is this wasted week gonna benefit?

Ok guys, time to brush up on your economic skills. If a hot dog from empower field costs $6.50, but a hot dog from the old mile high stadium costs $1.25 in 1974, what would be the consumer price index from 1974, given that the consumer price index today is 390.

Mase, would you do the honors: CPI=75

Just finished my economics test and when I saw 75 I could hear mases voice whispering “you already know”.

My Boyz, just a quick thought; recently I feel like the idea of Players „quitting“ on their coaches gets thrown around just about every season, for multiple teams.. Is it just me or could this be a side effect of these young kids not being able to handle adversity or difficult stretches as well as players used to? Maybe Mase has some more insight seeing as he’s been around the block about 75 times!
Thanks for all you do and riding shotgun on my daily drives! best wishes from Hamburg
