Mark in Hawaii
It’s been a minute since my last post with work, family and all the craziness going on in our world. But my escape has always been watching you guys on YouTube, listening to the pod, and reading all your takes on this site! Thanks for keeping me sane fellas.
If the Broncos don’t draft one of the top 5 QB’s, I haven’t given up on Lock yet. But he really needs to come out of the gates from week 1 proving he’s the guy. I don’t expect him to suddenly become elite, but just give us a chance to win every game.
Tommy Bronco, congratulations on your upcoming move to Hawaii. Depending on which island you will live on, you should prepare yourself for what lifestyle comes with that community. So here’s a few simple and broad pieces of advice. Do your research to understand what to expect before you get here. Understand what it means to “Live Aloha.” Remember that Hawaii is a small place so be a positive member of our community. And finally, food is the best way to learn and to connect with the locals. Be open minded about trying new food. There is a plethora of amazing dishes here to experience so don’t waste the opportunity to eat and discover. Feel free to DM me on my Broncos Twitter at @milehighhawaii if you have other questions.
Good luck and Aloha!

Fellas,
Is there a day 3 Center Denver can draft that will give the team some insurance behind Cushenberry? I worry that our depth at OLine will be the downfall of the team should injuries start to mount.
Some People Call Me The Space Cowboy
The draft pod with Henry, Dre and Jake on the O-line class illuminate some great centers to take. Dre class this draft the best interior o line class he has seen in years! Drew Dalman was a later round gem he mentioned.

Fellas, two things:
1.) is it just me or does anyone else think your song at the end of the pod sounds just like Zac???? Haha I’m assuming that isn’t Zac but has anyone seen pleasure horse and Zac at the same time???
2.) what is a unknown talent that you guys have? No you can’t choose remembering sports stuff

It’s been a while fellas and a lot has been on my mind lol. I’ve numbered it out to try to make it easy for you, might want to answer as you go. Thanks for everything fellas!
1.Mase your so right about the tragectory of the WR position from a draft perspective. Today’s game is different and I think you can bank on the fact that you’ll be able to find talent at WR in any given draft year if CFB xontinues putting out like it has over the past 3 years or so. Bama has a true freshman who’s a dog, I caught a few plays from their spring game this past weekend, his name is Agiye Hall (you heard it here first). ANYWAY here’s a thought.. I don’t think the move is to stack up and wait until 2022 for a QB. However I think the 2023 QB class will be special with DJ U from Clemson, Bryce Young, and (insert any Ohio state QB). If this is the plan and you want to give Drew every shot to succeed (or Atleast bridge you for 2023) and you decide you will take your swing in 2023, how do you logically navigate through this year and next year to get there?
MY PICK:
Trade back and see if we can get a late first this year, an extra second this year, as well as some day 1-2 compensation next year, is this possible?? I really like Javonte Williams, Richie Grant, Levi Onwuzurike, JOK, as well as Caleb Farley. All could go earlier, but I think they profile in late R1- early R2, which would make that our sweet spot. If we can pickup 2-3 of those guys it’s a good draft in my book!
2. What does the time table look like on Watson? Weird situation especially considering the initial timing of it all. I also heard something abt conflict of interest w/ the prosecuting lawyer..? Anyway I truly believe this situation is in the back of George’s mind. I could very easily see him being content heading into the 2021 season with lock as his starter and cap flexibility should an opportunity arise. Mase, you said it yourself, the more time that goes by the more favorable it is for us to land Watson. (Still agree?)
3. I think there are 3 generational talents in this years draft. Sewell, Lawrence, Pitts. On average how many generational talents are there in a given draft, and where does this draft class stack up to others? Also would you guys agree on my 3 prospects, “generational” is a bold term.
This brings me to my next point. What if the Broncos traded up and picked a non-QB such as P. Sewell. In this scenario I’d say a trade up to 7 or 6 max, assuming he slides past Cincy and they take chase. The positional value, if nothing else justifies the move IMO. 2nd hardest position to lock down. Now that’s only for Penei.. but with that being said, How would you guys feel abt a “redundant” move like taking a blue chip prospect who slips to you at 9 but has no clear path to starting right away due to depth ie: Sewell/slater/chase/pitts/Farley-surtain with your 1st rd pick
4. Lloyd Cushenberry’s outlook? This is underrated but there is a good pool of IOL in this years draft, so how confident are we in Lloyd and what’s “too high” to draft his replacement?
5. How do you leave comments for the draft guys’ podcast?
nemo_3
6. Kyle trask isn’t bad. He’s one thrown shoe, and 7 points away from (SEC championship) being everybody’s heisman front runner and top-5 pick. Him and Mac Jones are equal in my book. How much weight is put on the tossed shoe and 7-poinht loss to Bama? Kyle is unjustly critiqued, he can make the throws he needs to make, is accurate, and has a knack for placing the ball where it needs to be (check out the contested catch rate across the board for UF’s offense). He’s a grinder from his backup days, had a great rapport w his teammates, and can take tough coaching. I think if nothing else he will be a GREAT backup prospect, maybe a rich mans Brett Rypein or Trevor Seiman. Ofc I’m a gators fan but that’s besides the point. It seemed like over the course of 2-3 weeks his draft stock went from rd 1 to whatever it is today. That bowl game did him no favors either but it speaks to his character that he would go out there and play the game despite freshman OL and no putts/toney/grimes/etc.
7. It appears Farley slipping is a real thing. Can we trade back and still secure him? Every year a corner usually goes too high, last year it was D. Arnette to the Raiders (lol). Who’s y’all’s pick on who it will be this year. I’ve got Marco Wilson.
Planning a trip to Denver soon, I don’t drink but I’d love to meet you guys at the bar! Here’s to the best community out there ?

The movie trivia nerd in me had to comment to tell you that “Hope is not a plan” is definitely a quote from the Mission Impossible: Fallout movie. So I’ve got knowing that going for me…

Hey fellas,
Sorry, was a couple of days behind..
No Mase, lol, I’m not getting a Trey Lance Tattoo if we draft him. It was my British Sarcasm, sorry. I will fully support any new Broncos Player tho, even if we reach 2 rounds higher than we should; I just support all the current Broncos too, including Drew Lock.
I’ve been thinking of an outrageous bet to offer someone. Pizza Bet maybe? Ok, here goes….
Drew Lock will make Pro Bowl, and Broncos make Playoffs in 2021.
If we draft a QB high and Lock doesn’t play, bet is void.
So who wants to take me up on that? Can probably only afford 10 listeners and anyone at DNVR tho ?
Anyone know how I can just subscribe to Broncos DNVR content on YouTube? I don’t do hoops or sticks or play rounders, so the other Denver Teams don’t interest me; sorry ya’ll. I usually miss your live YouTube shows is all.
Thanks all, and it’s less than 7 days until the draft. Can’t wait. I’ll be watching live broadcast, so expect some heckles, especially regarding a certain QB.
Peace out fellas

I’m a fan of Drew lock. He makes some head scratching mistakes, sure. But he has heart, moxy, talent. Passion and desire. I think he’s gonna prove alot of you guys wrong this season.
Ahh I remember the days when Ryan was trying to get Mase to say lock was the guy. Mase was hesitant. You were all in on Drew, then he had a few rough games and you jumped ship.
I want to see another season of Drew. If he can’t put it together in year three then find someone else.
Trade back. Stack players on day 2, and let Drew have his shot.
Thanks for the content, can’t wait till draft so we have new players to talk about!

Double Comment! I will take myself outside and give myself 40 lashes..
..but this is pertinent. Promise.
Do you think, with it coming out that Justin Fields suffers with epilepsy, that he will fall to us at 9? Fields and Lawrence are the only QBs worthy of a pick in top 10, so as a Lock supporter (and Ohio State Fan) I would be bummed for Drew, but it’s a move I would be ok with.
Just don’t draft a QB in top ten that has very little college tape and shown few NFL calibre throws. Not in top 10. Please George, please.
Thanks fellas, and I’ll show myself out and go get that switch to lash myself with
Love y’all

Maybe split these comments up fellas, so I don’t look like a total douche? ?

More than normal ?
The Big T
Yup! Slater can play all across the line, then you have Dickerson from Alabama, Humphrey from. I like Josh Myers a bit later personally.
Slater at No 9 is a very sensible pick. Hearing Zac and RK say picking OL was a ‘meh’ move, is kinda fair, but it’s the smart move, aside from trade back, which is the really smart play here.
The Big T
It deleted the word Oklahoma ?

hey guys!
mase, it’s good to hear that you’ve come round to asante samuel jr as a fit for vic. he’s not a fit for every defense but i really see him thriving in this system.
it’s interesting that the broncos have shown some interest in app state corner shemar jean-charles who’s like asante samuel jr-lite. they’re both very similar in terms of playstyle and their physical profile and if the broncos miss out on samuel jr, i’d be all for them grabbing jean-charles on day 3 because the drop off isn’t much
one thing i noticed is that the packers and chargers both seem to be showing interest in the same defensive prospects that the broncos are. both teams have also been linked to the two corners i just mentioned
obviously it makes sense with them running versions of vic’s defense, but it just goes to show that the more teams that start running this defense (and it’s only going to increase) the more competition there will be for certain players. i remember it used to be that you could get ‘zone’ corners much later in the draft but things are likely to change here now

Ok, we have 7.5 days left till the draft starts, already taking the day off as it’s a morning thing here. My takes with just over a week to go.
1. The 49ers did NOT trade away all those picks to take Mac Jones. It’s Fields or Lance. They could have traded to 6 with Philly and been safe to get Mac at maybe even later.
2. Falcons trade down twice and get Najee Harris in around the 20’s and stockpile picks. First trade is with the Broncos and we get Fields. (Lance to the 9ers)
3. Lock is traded to either NE, Chicago or Washington for a 4th rounder
4. We use that pick to trade for Minshew
5. Minshew starts week 1 and Fields has to wait till the bye. Minshew just throws TD’s in preseason to win the job.
6. Raiders will make a bizarre pick (Hold on, that’s not a hot take, but a given)
7. Zac will suggest a Bama player for every pic in the first round, RK will call every CU Buffalo drafted a steal and Mase will know the entire family tree for every pick back to 1822.
It’s a draft, it’s so fun and intense and 2/3rd’s of the pick will end up out of the league in a few years, but no other US or even Aussie sport does it as well as the NFL.
Love having your pod to supplement this insane part of the year.
Count Bridgeula
Of the five chuckers in this draft, history tells us that maybe 2 will succeed 2 will fall into mediocrity and one will bust.
In this game you must Ascribe one of these above fates to each of the rookies.

Hey guys. Two things for ya today.
1. Draft topic for 3 Ring. Candy Bars. If you want to make it a little more interesting ban Reese Cups and see what happens.
2. QB talk. We know TLaw is going ro the Jags. We are pretty sure Wilson goes to the Jets. Of the 3 left I have to say I’m concerned that the difference in FBS football and NFL is too big a jump for Lance to pick up IN DENVER only. I feel like he might be good elsewhere. Fields I think will be OK in Denver but not likely better than Lock in the offense Shurmur insists is more important than the qb. Mac is the one I think will be the better qb in Denver with the antiquated system it appears we are stuck with. If we stick with Lock I see 6 to 8 wins at best. Same with Fields. 5 at best with Lance. I just have a funny feeling I can’t explain that Mac would get 9 to 11 wins here. Fire Shurmur and My pick is Fields for early success and Lance for future success. With Shurmur I’d prefer Mac. Like Matt Mcchesney I think we are done for til Pat is gone since he doesn’t seem to teach qbs basic line protection calls.

Hey guys! I just wanted to say how proud I am of this organization for their work yesterday in distributing vaccines, and especially including their families. I’ve been volunteering in mass vaccine clinics all year, and this work is important to the community. What did you think of Brittany’s comments during the presser in response to Mike Klis’ question about becoming the controlling owner? I thought this one was interesting, “This is my dream job. I want to have a career in football, and I’m going to do everything to make that possible.” Is that a sign she might be resigning herself to a different career in football besides owner?
The Danimal
Well if we didn’t just get gift with the Fields news, I know it’s unlikely because there has been no sign of recent issues but I hope it drops him into our laps at 9. I know everyone is high on Lance and I am too but my concern is with Lance being seen as a project it gives Shurmur a mulligan if he has a bad year to ask for one more. With Fields being more pro ready I think if we don’t have some major evolution from the offense the culprit will be more obvious and we can hire a true innovator or elevate Shula.
Just my two cents, have an awesome day guys,
Danimal

Hey guy’s,
So I seen a mock yesterday that had all of the quarterbacks that Denver is interested in go top 4 then Sewell, Chase, Smith, Pitts, then Denver takes Parsons at 9.
So here is my question for you would you trade up to 8 with Carolina making them think your going to take Mac, give them an extra 4th or 3rd to move up 1 spot and then BAM uppercut to their jaw and snag KYLE PITTS from underneath them. Just saying it’s something I would do.
larrydennjr
Love how u played the 2 scenarios out and I guess for me I’m leaning into Team drew Lock ….. I don’t want to trade up AT ALL !!! ….. Especially for trey lance ! …… Let me ask you this ……
If trey lance doesn’t work out and drew is mediocre to bad and we’re not high enuff to get a qb ….and we could have traded down wat makes Paton look worst ???
Passing on lance and he works out or taking him and him at 9 or higher and him not drew work out ?
Some People Call Me The Space Cowboy
I’m so curious when draft day finally gets here about Paton’s draft philosophy. RK mentioned how John Elway had his style you guys could understand. I’m excited and nervous to see what direction Paton takes his first draft in. What are some different draft styles you guys have noticed teams or GMs follow? (BPA, physical traits prized, etc)

My Peoples!
I know we hate to play the what if game with mocks but hear me out lol. I did my one and only mock so far and came away with.
Jaycee Horn (Trade back twice)
Najee Harris in the 2nd
Teven Jenkins in the 2nd
Kellen Mond in the 2nd
No ifs and or butts, This happens to be the exact picks Denver makes in the first 2 rounds. How id your initial reaction.
Mutiny27
First time subscriber here with my birthday tomorrow I thought I’d treat myself.
Might be an unpopular opinion here but if someone like Zach Wilson can come and knock fields out of the #2 qb spot for this year’s draft why should we sell the farm to get him. (I understand Zach looks like he’s gonna be great but there was little buzz about him till recently.)

I wouldn’t say she’s resigning herself to that just yet. However, the depth and breadth of experiences she’s already had — particularly on the COVID-19 front — are giving her a strong resume for someone of her age and experience level. If the Broncos are sold, it would not surprise me to see her return to the league office, where she worked earlier in her career. Brittany’s future is bright, no matter what happens with the ownership status of the team.
