When it comes to joe burrow he looks promising but I don’t think you’re crazy preferring the bird in the hand with Lock.
I have been wondering if we’ve been overvaluing heisman trophy caliber college seasons for qbs the last few years. This will make 3 consecutive years the heisman winner goes one overall. Yet, when you look back, heisman qbs actually have a pretty terrible track record in the nfl.
Cam and Palmer are the successes since 2000 (though Lamar is pretty much there already). However we’ve also seen Weinke, crouch, white, Leinart, Troy Smith, Tebow, Bradford, RG3, Manziel, Winston and Mariota. Kyler is promising but only had one year and the jury is definitely out on Baker at this point.
This seems to suggest college dominance doesn’t necessarily translate to pro dominance. Add in that Burrow was a nobody with a mediocre season last year and I’m not completely sold on him being a sure fire nfl qb.
Sorry for the long comment, go Broncos.

Without Mase, I want to add every time Zac says “And Ryan”, to the drinking game and the pod feels weird without Mase’s realness.
Anyway, how about we blackmail or pay Henry Ruggs to not go to the combine so his draft stock doesn’t go up and he can fall to our hands! Thoughts?
By the way, how is a hotdog not a sandwich?!? People call a subway sandwich, a sandwich, but a hotdog is made the same way but you eat it 90 degrees the other way!!
Also loving the new name trend haha

I don’t think you guys have spoken much about this, but can you share how you became a Broncos fan, how long have you been one and your favorite player when you started? Is there anything the broncos could do or not do that would lose you as a fan.
Iceman
Hey friends. Always wonderful to hear the awesome Allie on this pod also! It amazes me the Dove Valley two-step spin you 2 are putting on the Scangs replacement by Pat S. Remember, he was also fired to be able to replace Rich, his 2nd. head coach firing. The Broncs always seem to play the Cardinals in the 4th. preseason game, usually in Arizona? I thank God everyday that Mrs. Iceman does not ever watch Ryan’s show!!! 🙂 Open faced sandwich, Chipped beef with real mashed potatoes. Open faced are usually comfort foods. GO ANDREW/BRONCOS/LYNDSEY

Hey you guys mentioned maybe getting Perna on the Pod? That’d be exceptional. Can you give us all some warning so we can throw questions at him?
I’ve actually always thought he’d be a cool addition to the DNVR unit though as I understand it he is refused press access to Dove Valley / Mile High? I can only assume it’s because he asked questions as Mike Hawk to John Elway once or did a beer bong at training camp?
Russway Johnson
Perna on the pod would be dope.
The Big T
I find Perna hilarious, that would be awesome to get him on the Podcast.

Found this recipe and it sounds amazing. Smoked cheddar and cherry jam pop tart. Two sheets of puff pastry, shredded smoked cheddar, tart cherry jam, egg wash, salt and pepper. Cut the pastry into pop tart shaped rectangles and assemble just how you would think. Into 425 oven.
Broncos Q: Can Lock still run an off season throwing session now that the playbook will be different?
Crash
I had never heard of Laviska until I started listening to you guys because where I live Colorado is rarely televised. So last night I watched his highlights and can say OMG. Watched Judy, Ruggs and Lamb highlights to compare. Of those four in my opinion Laviska is the most versatile. The kid is a beast. I personally think he would be the best pick for the Broncos. Do you think he will still be on the board at 15? And would you guys pick him over the other three. Thanks!!

Just something to think about.
In 2014, Pat Shurmur and Chip Kelly were reportedly trying to trade up to get Sammy Watkins. Sammy Watkins is an expected cap cut this year, and judging by the Houston game still has excellent YAC skills, which we know is something Shurmur values in his receivers. Playing with Andy Reid right now so some familiarity with the system. Because he’s being cut in the scenario, his next contract will have no impact on the Broncos’ compensatory pick formula in 2021.
I’m not saying sign him to another $16m/year deal, and the contract would have to be structured in a way to protect the Broncos from the inevitable injury- but I was surprised to see that he’s played nearly 800 snaps (and counting) so far this season, which is 150 or so more than Hamilton played in 2019.
Watkins might never be the WR1 that he was drafted to be, but that’s not an issue for the Broncos. I’d still want them to add a receiver or two in the draft, but I’m liking the idea of Watkins being the WR2/WR3 in 2020.

RK this comment is to be read by you!
So much to catch up on:
Thanks for the birthday shout out – truly have the best girlfriend. I remember making her listen to the first response I got from y’all. She literally rolled her eyes thinking I was just some type of fan girl and laughed at RK mentioning how bad my grammar was (probably still is). Almost 2 years later I think she’s realized that this is a FAMILY.
I got a little creeped out when you started talking about crying during movies/videos because you literally described me. The last movie I cried to was freaking Pete’s Dragon…. I used to never be like this, but something happed 3 years ago. It was like a switch that flipped on and I literally almost can’t get through any movie with out crying.
I gotta find time to watch the bachelor. Between Mad Men, work, and looking to buy my first home things have been crazy. But it will be done!!!
And last. NotPhillipLindsay. Understand this you are loved, supported, and valued. I get sometimes there can be days, weeks, months, hell even years where one can feel alone I’ve been there. But try and remember you have thousands of people in this DNVR family alone that are here to help. I would love to talk and see how I can assist. I do have some clinical background experience with mental health and have a passion for helping others it’s literally what I went to school twice for.
I stay up late & wake up early. Work can get buck wild and I may be slower to respond then, but my email is zachjcastro@me.com. If you think of anything that can help. Do not hesitate to reach out. If you want to just talk about life or random shit to take your mind off things that’s perfect. If you want assistance in finding resources that can help I’m down. If you want to talk about RK’s poor choices in Television Or Zac’s concerning food choices Im game. If you just want somebody to play video games with I’m there too!!
Sorry for the long comment guys, but I was very patient during the season and made sure to keep it short and sweet then! #3hourpod

For Lovethunderdownunder, Sausage Sanga Harry, Kiwi Bronco, and all the other Antipodean Broncos Fans out there;
Firstly, sending hopes of rain and cool weather to you all. Horrible watching these fires from the other side of the world, can only imagine how terrible it is over there. At least it might convince some of the last few that climate change is a real thing, and we must do something about it. Stay safe people, and keep up all the great work rescuing as many animals as possible. Over 1 billion wild animals, all wiped out. Truly devastating 🙁
Secondly, and on a more humorous note; don’t bother trying to convince Americans to eat Vegemite. I have tried and tried, but Kellogg’s has brainwashed everyone over there into thinking Breakfast should be a ridiculously sweet meal – basically one massive dessert to start the day. Type 2 Diabetes anyone? Also, I find all this Pop Tart talk a blast from the past, as they sort of died out in the UK in the early 90s. Is there a sugar tax in the US? Maybe there should be?
Also, and pretty serious shots fired here from the UK, but Marmite is soooooo much better than Vegemite. For those unaware; Australians = Vegemite, UK = Marmite, and what a long-running argument we have had, although, to be fair, both are better than anything else on toast.
I can post a jar of Marmite (or Vegemite) to you guys to try live on the podcast if you want?
Let me know
The Big T
SirJamesRadio
Okay…
But what about second breakfast?
The Big T
Marmite is perfect for second and third breakfasts too 😀
Harry Urban
Thanks Tebowski,
I’ll be happy to send the guys some Vegemite and other Aussie Culinary delicacies for them to try. Maybe a Vegemite vs Marmite blindfold challenge?
BleedingOrange&Blue
Hey guys, quick question about cap space. I know it seems like we’ll be able to be aggressive in free agency but how much do you expect us to have left over after we sign our own guys to new deals? Also, what positions do you expect us to prioritize with that?
Thanks for all you do! Love the pod!

I can shed some light on where Peyton and Stokely practiced when PFM first got here.
My buddies and I would go to Valor and play lacrosse on their practice field almost every day that summer (cuz what else do white kids in Highlands Ranch do during the summer). One day a guy came up to us and said we needed to leave and I just assumed a practice was about to happen, I mean a practice did happen but it was PFM strolling in. My mind was blown. Great memory I’ll always have.

Two questions:
(1) Some of the earliest comments I heard about Shurmur were questioning how his primarily zone blocking scheme would mesh with Mike Munchak. Mile High Report published a story saying that Shurmur runs almost exclusively inside zone. Then Benjamin Allbright tweeted that Shurmur runs almost exclusively outside zone with a little bit of inside zone sprinkled in. Then Andre published his film room and said that Shurmur would be great for Munchak because he runs primarily power blocking schemes and that we should expect the zone system to finally be gone from Denver. How can Shurmur be primarily running three different blocking schemes? Who should I believe?
(2) Do you think that the Shurmur hiring is a good thing for Juwann Winfree? It seems like his skill set could be a great fit for what Shurmur wants from his wide receivers.
1) I would like to thank Andre for all the film room stuff that he does. I know after watching the Shurmer ones they made Mike Hawk feel all tingly with excitement
2) I’m going to try that hot pocket pop tart mix someday cause why not
3) For Pat
4) I’ve never seen a sports group be such a family and truly support eachother in their lives and health and be there for eachother. This is why DNVR is the best. Love ally’all (a little Texas slang one there for ya)

Extremely proud to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame righting their wrongs of leaving out those stellar players from Chicago and Pittsburgh! There are no other teams worthy of the HOF! ??

This is a day or so late buuuut idk about y’all but fox and the hound makes me so so sad. I too share the animal tear cord with you Ryan, I really can’t do it. Also on futurama when fry leaves His dog Seymour asses behind and shows how long he actually waited. Soul crushing.
And finally, ……what’s with all this rooster talk guys?

I can’t remember if someone mentioned this but the best way to eat ANY flavor pop tart is toasting it, then applying salted butter to the back side. Talk about Hue G. Rection.
With one of the top 5 WRs in the draft likely to fall to 15, who will fit in this offense alongside Sutton and Fant the best??
Butter your tarts, boys.
BrentG
100% spelled HUGH wrong ??♂️ sorry Mr. Rection
Onion Booty Bronco
I miss Mase. Can you give him a bootylicious hug from Onion Booty next time you see him?
Also, what did you think of the Burrow Pardon My Take interview? He’s the man and his confidence is more than well earned. Yet it begs the question: at what point does cockiness become detrimental for a young QB entering the NFL? It served Baker well in year one but we all saw the fallout of year two. Not to equate Burrow to Baker, just setting the landscape for the discussion. Thoughts?
With gratitude,
Onion Booty

I can’t BELEIVE I’m saying this, but my wife made me watch the bachelor, and I’ve gotta say it’s a decent trash show. She made a prediction that Hannah b will show up the last episode and take peter away. Very interesting.
Back to football-
Do you think Rb2 should be upgraded this offseason with the offense coming in? Lindsay is phenomenal dont get me wrong, but we need a bruiser back there to keep him fresh and healthy. Who do you think would be a good rb2 if not for Royce? Or do you think Shurmur will keep and utilize him? Great content as always guys keep it up.
Also one more thing, being a broncos fan raised in San Diego, I can say chargers fans have an argument of being one of the worst fans, but now that they’re in LA, everyone has quickly shut their mouth.

Good to know we have another crier in here. I swear, its gotta be every singe sports championship game, whether it was super bowl 50 or the little league world series. I always find myself holding back tears seeing people achieve their goals. I bawled my eyes out at Peyton’s retirement speech, but then again watching Lego Batman…. I may have an issue. Anyways love all you guys do. Hoping to make it to Colorado this summer for a golf trip any suggestions?
The Danimal
I still get choked up when I watch replays of SB50, Deadpool 2, and when Black Widow sacrifices herself in Avengers: Engame….you aren’t alone!
That's what She said
Anytime I watch something kind of intense it makes me choke up. Fireworks, pointing out cool things during the new star wars movie to my son, nuggets game… You get the picture. It’s honestly getting embarrasing. Just feeling all the feels I guess.
TrueChampFan24
The disrespect!!
Gradishar misses the HOF cut once again.
Love all the hype surrounding Shermur, i remember being in a pure panic when i saw that Jason Garretts name was mentioned as a possible candidate in those first few minutes after the firing of Skangs.
Also was glad to see him go, he may have been a good dude, but anyone who keeps running the ball to no effect for 3 and out, after 3 and out needs to find his way back to the high school ranks.
Litvakski
Hey saw an article today about free agents that would make sense with Shurmur, what are your thoughts previous team with Shurmur included: Danny Amendola (Rams), Mike Remmers(Vikings) Miller would need him to say who his daddy is like in “Remember the Titans” after his time in super bowl 50, LeSean McCoy (Philly), Keenum…NO THANKS, and lastly either or Lattimer/Fowler. I honestly don’t find anyone but Amendola worth a consideration and he is past his prime with a laundry list of injuries from the past so all would be a pass for me.
Thanks as always,
Litvakski
PS Ravioli is not sweet so, poptart is a pastry fyi. Name brand over generic.
OnionTownLynx
Hey guys! So, this is a bit of a mase question but i thought I’d ask anyways. Has there ever been a 60 TD season in football history? Like, at all. I can’t seem to find one. Does this mean that Joe Burrow had the best QB season of all time?
The Danimal
Guys,
Welcome to bizzaro world, where PFF just announced our left tackle Gumballs as the second highest graded tackle in the NFL the last four weeks of the season.
I for one refuse to live in this reality and propose we lay siege to PFF headquarters dressed as Oakland fans, because nobody would put it past Oakland fans to act like savages. OR…..we spend the money we’d save not building a siege machine and buy Mike Munchak a Ferrari, thoughts?
I have nothing else serious to add to the comments so I’m going to go enjoy my cheat day with a 7-11 slurpee, which is a way underrated beverage.
Take care,
Danimal
Hey guys,
Still frustrated after Gradishar got snubbed again. Recommendation for the DNVR team. Can you break down each of the 10 centennial seniors compared to Gradishar to have us get a better understanding why he continues to get snubb? Dont expect now, a great breakdown article or video would be awesome. Thanks to RK for comparing Scangs and Shurmur Tebow and Manning, helps me better understand moving on before giving Scangs a chance to grow. Only time I actually cried was SB32 when Elway completed the helicopter play. I knew at that moment we were finally champions. Do you see Denver putting Jano on the trading block with Shurmur coming in and expected comp if that happens?
Asking for a friend
I wonder if since the panthers have lost Luke Keucley if they’ll target Simmons in the draft. I know you Guys want offense in the 1st but where do you think the Broncos actually go? Offense, defense, or best player available?
That's what She said
You guys read my comment yesterday, and I just wanted to clarify that I’m a girl. My old username was blackcatt (never loved it) I thought it was time for an update. Sorry, this doesn’t help RK’s argument that more guys should watch the Bachelor.
Anyway, excited to ride with you guys for my second off season with DNVR.
JediJoshua3
Hey fellas, Whos a prime candidate at corner youd each love to see Denver land this offseason, even healthy, iam not sure Callahan is a number one, and CHJ is probably not gonna be back, thanks go broncos and go DNVR
Tommy
With the injury to DeAndre Hopkins and if the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl does Courtland Sutton make the Pro Bowl?
He is in!
AZ_Bronco
Hey Fellas, after hearing Ryan’s thought about two Receivers in the draft, I wanted to see what you thought about Ruggs in the 1st and then picking up Raeger in the 2nd. Those two with Courtland would have to be one of the top receiving corps. We could still use our other two third rounders on OL or the D.
