Love the SP hire! But after so many years of disappointment and lowered Wilson expectations I am trying to temper my enthusiasm. What will get me fully on board the Payton train is a win against KC! (Please let us finally get a win against KC) That is how he can get us all psyched for our Beloved Broncos… prior to a playoff appearance.

However even with tempered expectations I will 100% buy a DNVR Payton themed Visor!

hey guys

i’ve seen some debate on whether the broncos should keep evero or go for vic. if both are viable options then it makes way more sense to let evero walk and let vic be the longterm DC. we see it with the chiefs. they’ve had continuity on the defensive side of the ball for years because their DC isn’t at any risk of running away for a head coach position again.

i know people liked evero, but his defense fell off a cliff with some injuries and after the chubb trade. vic was never given that same excuse despite having years with no corners, no linebackers and no edge rushers. it’s a no brainer for me. they should hire vic and let evero walk. what do y’all think?

I’ve been trying not to get sucked into the hype again but listening to the clip of Payton talking about prepping for a game with Brees has to give you so much confidence. I think his pragmatic approach of sitting down and actually being realistic as to what the QB feels comfortable/best at with the defense he’s seeing in practice, the reps he got, and the matchups they’ll have is the kind of offense that has for some reason eluded the Broncos the last few years.

Hopefully gone are the days of the broncos stagnant inept offense that refuses to maximize players’ strengths and mismatches for the sake of their “system”.

Great show y’all, dare I say the vibes are back?? Nugs back to winning form, Avs getting healthier, and Weezy F Baby is visiting the Champions Center; it’s like that LeBron Meme, “I can’t believe this is my life”. Grateful for your coverage, I have full confidence that Wilson will be back to form this coming year, I think people forget how unsettling moving, and integrating with a new team is for a human being. Let’s alone be paired with a new coach who is in over his head and a young offense that is learning. I think with Payton and a year under his belt in denver, Wilson is gonna come thru.

Question, if someone wants to hire Evero as their defensive coordinator, would they have to trade for him since it’s a lateral move? If it take a first and a second for a head coach, what would it cost for a coordinator?

Lets say Hackett had performed at the top end of his hiring cohort, and taken the Broncos to a Divisional Round exit this year. Would you still prefer Payton going into this year? I think I would.

I like the prospect of poaching Saints players more than coaches, to be honest. If I were assembling a staff, I’d want to get a diversity of thought in that room, not just folks I’d worked with before.

But how many problems do we solve if we can somehow get Ryan Ramczyk off the Saints’ hands?

I hate to be the corny guy, but the Darren Sproles connection just makes me want to bring Phil Lindsay back.
