What’s up with Bausby? We never start him but he ends up playing when Bassey struggles. When Bausby plays he looks really good. What am I missing? Is it special teams performance? My best guess is they are trying to develop Bassey but I feel like he should be the practice squad depth player, not Bausby.

Is there a scooby doo moment coming where we pull off the Vic Fangio mask and reveal it’s really LARRY COYER??
(that’s where the blitzing came from!!)
Well, maybe not. I personally don’t get the complaining about being aggressive… Broncos fans and critics are comparing Drew to other QBs saying “they need to take the reigns off him” THEN WHEN THEY DO YOU BITCH ABOUT IT!!!!!!####
OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!!!!! quit making repulsive statements!!!!!

CHIEFS WEEK !!!!!!! Love this time of year but my question is If we want too beat the chiefs , we have too turn those field goals into touchdown’s. So can you guys tell me why is fangio and shurmer not giving the ball too juedy in the red zone? Does he not perform well in practice in this particular area ?
Jonny G.
Greetings fellas,
It sure feels nice to beat the Pats and remain undefeated against Cam. Drew was dropping dimes all game long, and I don’t put those INTs on his shoulders. Our defense needed to stand up and came away with key turnovers. A friend of mine is a fellow Broncos lover, but isn’t a Lock believer and says that “Drew keeps missing the deep ball.” I would say he needs to open his eyes, but what can I say to to my friend to help him become more of a believer. Also, what needs to change in the red zone so we can finally get some TDs instead of FGs?
Thanks, and stay safe and healthy!

In came up with a dynamite strategy – toss #30 the ball on some wheel routes and screens – give him the ball with some space. Probably would require watching some Darren Sproles tape though. Then again he was just an all pro 3x.

Just to add on the drew lock discussion… he’s only in his 7th game!!!!…. he’s 5-2 losing to the Súper bowl champion chiefs, and the Titans by 2!(Titans 5-0 this year btw) in my opinion anyone who thinks drew played awful yesterday didn’t watch the game and only looked at the box score…. also are the Broncos bigger contenders than we thought? Lose to the 5-0 Titans by 2, lose to the 5-0 Steelers by five with Jeff fricken driskel behind center and just beat belichick’s patriots with cam Newton behind center…. only time will tell I guess, and Sunday will be a good game to find out.

Hey guys, after watching the game again I noticed Duke Dawson was the Dime backer and seemed to play very well.
Do you believe we see more of this and what’s the ceiling for this secondary? Most of the pressures and sacks looked to come off of coverage sacks, other than chubb’s 2.9 second sack off course! Heeeeeees baaaaaaaaack!!
Love you all stay healthy,
Bobby

How long do you guys think Vic will be coach for? He’s pretty old and I can’t imagine him staying for very long.

It’s awesome to see Bryce Callahan having a good year after his injury problems last year. With all the injuries the team has had this year, he’s a great example of how staying with a guy can pay off.
Thanks for the awesome coverage,

Follow up question for Mase:
What did Callahan say to the doctors when they told him his foot injury required new hardware?

1. I’ve been impressed by Ojemudia’s play thus far. Even against Pittsburgh I felt like he was in the right places. Technically.. he should have 5 TOs. Zac is it safe to say we broke the 3rd rd CB curse yet????
2. What do you guys think Shelby’s current value is if free agency began today? As a follow up is he a Denver bronco next year? If not how much does he sign for?
Race City Bronco
I just want to tag onto this comment, because I think we should talk more about Ojemudia. Compare his performance against some of the first round corners chosen in the draft, according to Pro Football Reference OJ has a completion percentage against of just 50%, which is much lower than Jeffery Okudah’s number of 75%, and CJ Henderson and Jeff Gladney who both sit above 65% against. A couple of weeks ago Nick Kendell tweeted out a PFF stat of how OJ was averaging just 1.2 yards allowed per coverage snap, while Okudah was at 2.9 yards, and if you take out the Chase Claypool reception it drops Ojemudia’s numbers down to a paltry 0.5 yards per coverage snap. This guy has been on fire!

Bradleyyy Chubb is looking more and more like himself, such a great thing to see. Still don’t think he’s playing like a top5 pick but I’ll cut him some slack he’s earned it. Secondly can you guys give a status update on the OL. How do you guys think everybody is playing and what happens when Eli comes back. There’s no way they bench Demar…. right….?
Lovethunderdownunder
Alberto o-hey-boo-koo-my-mum and Noah Fant both have something in common.
When they take a shallow cross, they can turn up field and run right over the top of 2-3 people for 10 yards. I love taking deep shots to TE as much as the next guy, but let’s no get too over the top, just get more balls in their hands when they are moving. Can you imagine a pick play with those two? My god they’d completely destroy the trailing coverage for each other.
I can’t wait for this game against the chiefs. I feel a win coming. And once you beat the Chiefs, there isn’t a game you can’t win.
So…. IF the Broncos beat the chiefs….. what’s the record at the end of the season? Are we flirting with 10-6…or are we lucky to get to 7-9.
OnionTownLynx
Slow down there, Thunder. First of all, if you’re going to have a feeling about a game, ya gotta have it on gameday when you wake up or just before the event. It’s just tradition. Also, I think it might be jumping the gun for anyone to be forecasting after something like a win over the Chiefs. The football gods would give us more of a chance if we had Von Miller and could get something out of the 4-man rush. However, if we win, isn’t everyone saying 10-6 is on the table?

Hey guys, Love the pice on the game grades, great job by Andre like always, this is my favorite article of the week and i look for it every Monday.
very encouraging to to see Chubb looking so good in such an important game. Now i hope the defense plays as good next week and the receivers catch the ball.
I hope Fant is back, he is becoming my favorite Bronco and one more thing, please get Hamilton away from here, he has dropped more big plays than anyone i have ever seen, he has gotten the chances and flushed them down the toilet.
I have a feeling the loosing streak ends this Sunday.
HipHipOuray
Yo guys unpopular opinion here but despite the lack of sacks shelby Harris still makes plays for this defense. I know we have a higher standard for pass rushers but I do think there is something to be said about being able to deflect the ball on a consistent basis. Maybe it’s just a different skillset that many other players haven’t mastered yet. I feel like a good comparison to this is how Dennis Rodman would study ball trajectories and became an absolute beast on the glass. Maybe shelby takes time and studies QB throwing arches and puts himself in positions to make a play that way. Unpopular opinion I know but there are more ways to make an impact than just sacks and tackles.
Cheers boys, go Broncos, go iceman and go dnvr.

Hey gents.
Even though we all want to see a huge game from Drew Lock, I think the game he had against the Patriots could be strategically advantageous. He missed some deep throws, he didn’t have huge numbers, etc.
1. I don’t know how to scheme a football game, but I don’t think it really gave the Chiefs much info on how to stop Lock, since we didn’t see short throws throughout the Pats game.
2. I also think it keeps the expectations for low Drew when facing Mahomes. We don’t need to be expecting him to keep up with what Mahomes can do, and I think we might be pleasantly surprised by Drew come Sunday. At least I hope so.
I’m hoping we see Jeudy’s coming out party.
Thanks for reading all these comments from us couch guys!

Guys, while listening to the game my first instinct was, this is bad. After hearing drop after drop, field goal after field goal. But after stepping away from the game I actually felt great about this team. In game 1, we were just a couple of rookie mistakes away from a W, in this game, more rookie mistakes from different new players emerged as new guys had to take the field and yet we still got the win! And what about that DEFENSE! I think this team is only going to get better.
One question though, Shelby Harris has become one of my favorite players. He consistently is causing a disruption and batting passes. Why does the Broncos not seem to want that as they are so willing to let him go? Thanks guys and God bless.

hey guys;
tell me what y’all think about these 2 trade scenarios i came up with. the first is if they’re still in contention at the trade deadline, the second is if they’re not.
1) daesean for genard avery. daesean clearly needs a change of scenery. birds need receiver help badly. daesean gets to go back to pennsylvania. avery is buried on the eagles depth chart. broncos wont turn down edge depth with attaochu banged up.
2) garett bolles for adoree jackson. i’m all for retaining bolles, but i’m still hesistant about committing to him long term at over $15m/year and given that lewan is out for the season, i think we know first hand how the rest of their season might go if ty sambrailo is starting at LT.
a top tier LT would usually fetch more in a trade but bolles is also only under contract for this season and they’re committed to lewan when he comes back. adoree has been banged up this year, but given the speed in the afc west, having one of the fastest and best cover corners (who’s only 25) would be huge. this also gives them flexibility to move on from bouye and allows them to focus on the o-line specifically in the draft instead of being torn between corner/tackle.

The positive COVID-19 test from Curtis Modkins didn’t help my feelings about this team coming off a W. This week, what do you think the Broncos focus on? Are they hyper-focused on recovery and not getting positive tests more than ever for this one? A failure to keep quartantine would be a telling response to a week where you won and feel good about what happened. Also, in recent years, it seems like games like this one against the Chiefs are the kind that we’ll not only drop, but lose by a lot. I think our defense can hold the Chiefs to 30 or less, but I’m worried that our offense is only going to sputter along this week. What is the offense we’ll see? I’d like to see what RK said about the bag of tricks Andy Reid has. Philip Lindsay gashing them on the ground and seeing passes falling in the hands of Fant, Albert O, and Philip Lindsay. All those guys have serious run-after-catch potential and it might be nice to see a few options and a couple of Andrew Beck targets if we have the defense on their heels.
What do we expect?! (Also, sorry this was just a big gooey ball of thoughts I woke up with)
Thank you for your time,
Lynx

Also, John Ross wants to be traded. Do we dare? For a 7th? For a 6th?
Stoked for a snow game on Sunday!

MY BOYS! Against the Patriots, did we see elite defensive coaching from Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell? IMO, the defensive game plan and execution were stellar. The Broncos generated pressure and sacks in a variety of ways, mixed coverages, generated three turnovers, and had zero defensive penalties. Detractors will say that Fangio and Donatell had two-and-half weeks to come up with such a plan, which may have helped, but I am encouraged for the future. Hopefully, Fangio and Donatell make needed adjustments from the last time they played Kansas City, which was in the snow, as Sunday’s forecast is looking similar. Do you think that Vic will continue to be as blitz happy as he has been the past two games against the Chiefs? As always, thank you for the unbeatable coverage. DNVRMY SALUTE!

Hi gentlemen,
Hope to get this in before the buzzer. RK, thank you for mentioning yesterday how the Broncos three losses have come against teams with a combined record of 14-2 (!) I don’t know if they keep track of such things, but that has to be the best (worst?) in the league. We were one dropped pass away from beating the Titans, and one protection check away from beating the Steelers with a backup QB. I don’t think we get enough credit for that.
What would you say our chances are of making the playoffs if we don’t beat the Chiefs? What about if we do?
Thanks for everything that you do, stay happy and healthy!

Top o the mornin lads!
Short random comment here. There was a really funny moment in yesterday’s pod around the 61 minute mark where the audio glitched out while RK was talking about Denver’s strength of schedule (or lack thereof), and when he said the number 3 it was stretched out and sounded autotuned. Random yes but it gave me a good laugh because my sense of humor is ridiculous. I recommend hearing that back if you havent already.
Have a great day my dudes ?
Much love,
-Colin-

I heard it too! Thought it was intentional 😀

Hi guys, haven’t commented since the day I joined but have listened every day. Thank you for keeping me sane. Since I work from home, I don’t even listen to sports talk radio at all anymore and, thanks to you, I don’t miss it. Real quick, am I the only one that calls him McMakeit? We came up with that name during the super bowl run. This needs to pick up steam……and we probably need a T-Shirt too?? You guys have my permission to run with it. lol
RK – we also need some bach’ette talk. Even just a little, don’t let those guys talk you out of it. It’s necessary…..and there a few “former” players so you can tie it in nicely.
Still need to get to the Bar – will make that happen this fall.
Much love from the DDM <3
