Morning boys,

So the point differential against playoff teams was for sure depressing, however, I have a question for you guys. How do you think that point differential against a playoff teams changes if 1) Drew stays the starter and develops 2) we draft a rookie prospect in the 2021 draft 3) we take a veteran such as Winston or Stafford? Obviously none of us want the quick fix but I would be curious to know which of these three options would have the best chance of lowering that point differential against playoffs teams in your minds.

Hello guys:

All of this talk about Deshaun Watson’s trade value has me curious – what is Mahomes’ hypothetical value. I know he would never, ever be on the market but I am curious what his value is as the #1 QB, compared to Watson who I believe is somewhere between QB 4-8. I know there is a limit to how far out you can trade picks, but if you could, would you trade your round 1, 2, and 3 picks for the next 20 years for Mahomes? I assume there has to be a limit at some point for you guys and am curious where each of you draw that imaginary line. Thanks again for all that you do.

MY BOYS!!
Hope your weekend went well. I completely agree with Zac when he compared Mac Jones to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady! I also think another comparison would be Drew Brees, we know that he is an incredibly accurate quarterback who is not mobile. I am not an Alabama fan, I’m a Colorado Buffaloes fan, (although I do always hope that they win because of Zac) but I think that Mac may just be the most exciting prospect for me (besides Trevor Lawrence, sorry Zac). But as for today’s questions, today I have two if that’s alright.
My first question is, how were you all able to get into the field of sports reporting? I am incredibly interested in getting into that field, and would someday love to cover the Broncos, or just sports in general!
My second question is, which team do you think is the most likely to switch our draft positions with? And what we would get in return for our 9th spot? I personally think that the Saints are most likely, and we potentially could get a solid player, because we all know their cap situation is absolutely atrocious. Let me know what you guys think!
Much love,
Sebastian

G’day guys

Thought I would chime in about this QB talk. Forget Watson, he ain’t coming to the Broncos, we simply don’t have the trade capital compared to some other teams.

We keep saying the Broncos don’t have many holes on their team except QB and CB. Shouldn’t they just keep swinging for a QB in the draft until we finally hit on one. I don’t care how long it takes.

My ideal situation is Denver draft Trey Lance with the 9th pick. He sits behind Lock next year. Lock develops this year and balls out (25TD less then 10INT). Now the Broncos have some trade bait for either Lock or Lance. If Lock doesn’t work out, we simply move on to Lance and hope he’s the “Guy”

What you think?

Sticking with the Texans topic, but shifting the focus away from Watson: the Texans went 10-6 a year ago, won the division and were a playoff team. Then after one offseason they plummet to 4-12, the key difference? Deandre Hopkins… so assuming the value add Hopkins offers to Watson as a security blanket, shifting CB focus off of the other receivers and opening up the run game, you COULD argue that his presence accounted for nearly 6 wins.

Taking that into account… how many wins is Courtland Sutton worth coming back next season? Assuming everything on the team stays as-is from now until kickoff next season, what kind of difference do you think he makes? I think his presence easily accounts for 3 additional wins, but a lot depends on Lock.

Fellas,

I know that the team would be eating a good chunk of money, but I feel it be best to move on from Ja’Wuan James this off-season. I don’t expect to get much out of an injury prone guy who hasn’t played in nearly 2 years. I would prefer the roster spot going to a young player with upside.

How say you?

You guys were talking about a 3 team trade for Watson, with Stafford asking for a trade what if the Lions trade us Stafford and their 1st overall to the Texans, we trade Von and Courtland, and our 1st overall and a 3rd to the Texans, and the lions get Watson. How likely is that to work, and what would you guys want to see in a 3 team trade for us to get Stafford and the lions to get Watson.

I was going to wax poetic about the unsung career of Tony Jones but then I realized I didn’t feel like preaching to our choir – the choir is there for singing, not enlightenment. Then, I was going to lament about the fact that those no-talent hack-jobs in Detroit stole all of Tony Jones’ Thunder in Broncos’ Country by putting their lone treasure on the table at the annual NFL garage sale. Then, however after coming to terms with that miasma, I spent the weekend putting out DNVR fires – apparently there is a Booth at the bar that eats mobile phones. I can neither confirm nor deny this, but I can confirm
That twitter is a buzz and that my attentions have been diverted in to defending the honor of the DNVR watering hole – which I’m always happy to do, of course, but can you all shed any additional light on this improbable chimera?

And so it all begins. I’m 99.9% sure that you guys probably covered everything Matt Stafford related today but I wanted to add my thoughts.

I am in the camp that Drew definitely showed improvement in the last 5 games and started passing the eye test more. I would not be mad at him being the starter in 2021 after an offseason where he had a full season of his film to watch and was able to pinpoint his areas of improvement and really worked to continue the progress he made.

That being said, Matt Stafford is a definite upgrade. He fits a Shurmur 3-wide offense perfectly with his quick decision making, strong arm, and ability to see the entire field. And he isn’t a band-aid fix either. He has more years than Manning did when he came here and while he isn’t close to PFM, I think he can still have 5 or 6 years of high end QB play in him. I am just so torn on giving up the 9th pick. That is a building block pick and we do have some holes to fill. If they would take our 2nd this year and next year and throw in a 4th I’d be down. It’s just hard trading top-10 picks. I guess I would probably do it for our 9th overall if that’s what it took. Adding him to our offense with our weapons, and assuming Vic gets our defense at least playing above average football which he should and here is what I think we do with Stafford.

Home vs KC: Win
Away vs KC: Loss
Home vs LV: Win
Away vs LV: Win
Home vs LA: Win
Away vs LA: Loss
Home vs Baltimore: Loss
Away vs Pittsburgh: Win
Home vs Cincinnati: Win
Away vs Cleveland: Loss
Home vs Philly: Win
Away vs NYG: Win
Home vs WTF: Win
Away vs Cowboys: Loss (if they have Dak)
Home vs NYJ: Win
Away vs Jacksonville: Win
Detroit anywhere: Win

I can see a jump to 12-5 possible adding Stafford and his level of play to our offense. And not knowing if Drew can clean things up, I think we need to be at the front of the line talking to Detroit.

Sorry quick second comment

Would you trade our first rounder this year and next year and our third rounder this year and next year if those four picks netted is Matt Stafford and Marshon Lattimore?

The Bucs have just one title in their first 44 seasons. They can have a second. And remember, their window is short — only as long as Brady holds up. KC’s window could be another 14-15 years.

hey guys- couple things;

1) i’m bummed to lose renaldo hill to the chargers. i know there’s not much you can do when your staff is offered a promotion on that scale but i wish the broncos were more pro-active in promoting their own staff and giving them co-ordinator titles. i can already see a scenario where zach azzanni ends up taking an OC job next year and we’re having this same conversation smh.

2) peter king listed his likely destinations for stafford and the broncos were at number 2 behind indy. i found it interesting that he thought fair compensation from the broncos would be a 2 this year and a 2 this year or a 2 and drew. i know the lions liked drew last year but i don’t think there’s any team that would trade a 2nd rounder for him. if those were the two options which would you prefer? gotta say that i think there’s value in drew being on the team for the remainder of his rookie contract so i don’t think i’d include him in the deal but what do y’all think?

#LERBRADYWIN …I WANT TOM BRADY TO WIN ….so maybe he retires and goes away the fans like myself are OVER THE FORCES UNWARRANTED GREATNESS KF TOM BRADY ….. He deserved to lose yesterday ! He owes his next ring to Shaq Barrett !!! …. I’m so pissed cuz other thenaybe running for that td with else was aaron rodgers supposed to do ??? Dear MASE

SEAN MURPHY BUNTING SUCKS!!!

he sucked in the New Orleans game where he held 80% of the time and refs didn’t call it but once

And he sucked yesterday holding the entire GAME ! THE ENTIRE GAME ! AND THEY call the hold on kevin King ? Seriously ??? What a CROCK !!!! GIVE BRADY HIS SUPERBOWL and stop forcing him on fans omg smh ……

Anyways ……what’s the percentage the broncos have a new starting qb come Week 1 ….

If aaron rodgers leaves packers , watson leaves the Texans , stafford leaves the lions …. And Drew is starting for us week one and is a dissaster how bad is that going to make George Patton look ? If Aaron Rodgers demands a trade guys we have to grab one of these qbs right ?

MY BOYS! Congratulations to Mase and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their upset victory at Green Bay yesterday and for becoming the first team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. And Zac Stevens, you were quote prescient in your predictions leading up to the NFC Championship Game, good sir! The Super Bowl matchup between Kansas City and Tompa Bay, however, has me questioning if for the first time since my infancy that I will not be watching the Super Bowl or at the very least just just having it on in the background while playing board and/or card games with the family that day. The thought of having to face the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes twice every season, a team that we haven’t beaten in going on six calendar years, is truly depressing. I have never felt more football hopeless after yesterday’s AFC Championship Game. I hate to be a downer on this Monday, but that’s how I’m feeling football-wise. Would you each please give me three reasons to be optimistic about the Broncos in 2021 and beyond? Have a great week ahead. DNVRMY SALUTE!
