I’m looking at the schedule and it’s hard to find games where you say this team, as it looks now, should win, Panthers sure, maybe the Jags, we lose to the Jets, maybe Chargers or Raiders again, shaping up to be a 6 win team, maybe 7 if we’re generous.
Someone pointed out that to Hackett, Javonte wasn’t good enough to warrant benching Gordon and avoid splitting reps, but Latavious Murray was good enough to do so. It’s not like Hackett didn’t know what Melvin was with the fumbling problem going into this year or couldn’t have put Melvin on the bench in week 2.
It’s a reflection of Hackett’s conscious decision that Gordon should take reps away from Javonte, not Latavious and it’s the millionth sign of his ineptitude when millions are crying, praying, and begging to see just a few signs he isn’t unimaginably horrible at this job. We’ll keep waiting for anything.

Hey there Fellas, and Ultra-Producer Allie,
Whelp, the vibe bus got a flat tire, we can put the spare on ‘er but I wouldn’t drive around on it for more than a week.
Everyone diagnosing the offensive woes again has me thinking. It feels like the mistakes are all happening additively rather than anything overlapping. For instance, if coaching messes up 10% of the time, Russ messes up 15%, and some other offensive player messes up 15% of the time, you’d expect that sometimes those would just overlap, and we’d have a mess-up less than 40% of the time. This feels like we’re getting our full 40% (or whatever percent, I’m no Numbies), which just feels like really bad luck.
Kary Vincent Jr. is available for pickup, could be an interesting CB to bring back. Especially since we got Matt Henningsen with that trade return, and he got a sack already! Would love what that would do for Paton’s narrative, just pillaging picks for nothing.
Or, can we get Chris Harris Jr. back… and give him his old number?
For the next few games, I’m going to focus on the aspects of football that are ALWAYS great – the food, the drink, the weather, and being with the people you enjoy being with – and of course, never hurts in that situation if there is a football game on.
I’m no doctor, but you all can consider that a prescription!
Cheers,
A.L.
I think we are so far beyond a world of suck at this point, we’re in a galaxy of suck. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought we would be in such a bad spot.
Russ looks like a declining player and we’re not doing anything to mitigate his shortcomings, especially as far as his issues with seeing the middle of the field. Our coaching staff seems completely in over their head even on the people management side. Melvin was benched with absolutely no communication between he and the coaches, even after Hackett’s Monday availability. That is a a bad, bad, bad leadership/management look.
Even Paton is suddenly in a terrible spot with a bad football team and a lack of draft capital and not many valuable assets to help us acquire more picks either.
I’m slamming the panic button. This is terrible.

I will refer to this team as the Denver Sixteens.
Russ needs to become apart of this team and leave this delusional part that he is bigger than the team. Be the QB and be a guy in the locker room. I assume he is not doing so.
My take is that this whole prime time scheduling, week in and week out, is messing with the team. Coaches and players have got to be off routine with how every week is different, noting that being on TV every other week has got to be an issue. I know I will get pushback because they are professionals, but it is a thing.

Hey, been a while since I’ve commented. Is optimistic apathy a thing? Any way, love y’all. Thank you for everything!
Ps. I won the Amazon prime VIP experience thing for this upcoming cards vs. saints game.. this will be my first NFL game. Super stoked.

My boys,
Sport is cruel……..
In the last 5 weeks my teams….
Melbourne storm rugby league, eliminated week 1 by the lowest tanked team.
Sydney swans Aussie rules, obliterated 81 points in the grand final.
St Louis eliminated by Bryce Damn Harper and the Phillies
The great race, V8 supercars at the Bathurst 1000 (it’s massive down here) my team taken out by a rookie driver, car destroyed, race over.
And now Denver breaking hearts!
I think of the final words in The West Wing, Abbie Bartlet asks Jed, “what are you thinking of”
He replies “tomorrow”

*takes breath in*
We will be ok broncos country. The entire country is shitting on us, let’s not shit on each other.
Hate it or love it, but Russ is ours. I’m not saying be patient and we’ll be awesome, but I don’t understand how some fans can almost root for their team to fail to prove a point. Russ 100% needs to play better though.
Anyway
Go Broncos

I dont think the Wilson contract is entirely prohibitive. If this continues as is, Hackett will likely be fired. Maybe Payton too. Maybe we can trade a player or two, maybe Chubb before the deadline and gain a first round pick to use on a QB. Also, cant Walton just do a 250m signing bonus and a cheap contract for a free agent QB? Wilson would be a decent back-up in any case.
HtownBronco
I’m straight up done with Hackett. He’s pathetic, the new version of Vance Joseph’s “great week of practice” is now… “I’m not sure I have to watch tape”. I knew we were in trouble when he refused to say he hates the raiders and instead said we need more live in football…wtf. Football is about as close to war as you can get. He sounds scared and lame to me. Trying to be nice and not call him the equivalent to a feline
His dad was a failed head coach too, he only a good coordinator. Must run in the blood.
I was so excited to bring my daughter to her first ever Broncos game at Mike-High for her 10th birthday (picked the Cardinals game assuming stakes would be high in December..what a mistake that was). I’m also coming with my dad as well who is not doing well, most likely will be his last game at mile high (he grew up with season tickets in Denver). Very unfortunate this is the product my daughter will see for the first time and my dad will see for his last time. I am not even upset anymore…just Empathetic.. best believe I’m bringing a “Fire Hackett” sign with me.

Great conversation yesterday fellas! I’ll side with RK/Henry on the shut Russ down situation. Russ is WAY better than Ryp unless he’s legitimately unable to move in the pocket – as in 10% Russ which at that point he wouldn’t be in the game even if he wanted to be. I simply can’t see a world in which Ryp plays better than him, I mean would the play calling get even more conservative with a worse arm and less mobility? Numbeez I love you but man that is a tough hill to die on. Henry’s point about the Offense getting better as Russ plays more is so true – I understand the risk but if you pull him you’re essentially giving up on the season and it’s way too early for that.
Also, selfishly one of my coworkers is a Jets fan and we have dubbed this game the “Sad Bowl” before the Jets started rattling off wins. I still think they’ll find a way to lose, Zachy Wilsy isn’t quite there yet.

Is this the world of suck 2.0?

Posting again since Ryan cut off the comments early and I’m still full of rage over Monday. Wide receivers aren’t running open when Russ is scrambling, and dropping balls left and right … and yet, our long-time WR coach Azzani is still here. Injuries are piling up, year after year, setting records for players on IR… and yet, our long time strength and conditioning coach Loren Landow is still here. No accountability. No self-awareness. What in the sam hell of all that is good and holy are we doing, for cryin out loud. Seriously. Last in relevance but first in your hearts… Nacho Brad

What’s up DNVR crew
Frequent listener (everyday) and irregular commenter. Atleast on here anyway…
I think the Broncos offensive coaches took the whole, let Russ cook thing literally. He’s getting burnt out there.
Which brings me to my question.
Is and do you think bringing back Mike Munchak would be a good move? This year all I’ve seen from the O line is a constant decline and no progression.
We know these men can play better because we’ve seen it under different leadership.
Thanks everyone at DNVR for all the amazing content you provide for us listeners. You all make our days a little more sunny.
Cheers, Zack
