I’m just blah about this team. Watching the games any more is kind of boring. I look around the league and see exciting and fun football. I want what Arizona, LA, and Buffalo has! Are we going to have that? Please say so guys, give me hope!

And now Justin Herbert is going to do this for at least 10 more years. Ugh

Imma still watch though and bug you guys with my comments. They are my team and hopefully will be fun again.

Love everything you guys got going up there! I’ll hang up and listen.

We haven’t talked about bigotry and the NFL in a while but Gruden’s commentary makes me feel like it’s time to bring it up again.

I’m glad that Gruden resigned but it is worth remembering that his bigotry was allowed to persist without consequence for years. He coached two NFL teams and was a major NFL media figure. He’s now a very rich man. In the meantime Kaepernick is the one that gets run out of the league.

What particularly grossed me out was hearing some Denver radio hosts downplaying Gruden’s original comments during Sunday pregame. They refused to call the comments racist. They talked up how some of Gruden’s black players forgave him without pointing out the obvious power imbalance for those players.

People are going to be inclined to make this about Gruden but this is an NFL problem.

What’s up guys, I’m sorry. I always try not to be “that fan” and so negative. But I’m sick of watching bad coaching. I’m sick of watching game plans I believe this community could do better. I’m sick of watching mediocre QB after mediocre QB and bandaid after bandaid. I’m sick of best case scenario being barely making playoffs. I’m sick of other teams in our division getting “there guy”. I’m sick of watching so much young talent at QB in the NFL when the broncos haven’t had a young talented all pro QB in 30 damn years. I’m sick of being a fan. I’m sick of this. I’m sorry, but I’m just…..sick of it, sick of being a bronco fan with no Accountability from the top. I love you DNVR. But what can we as fans do now? How can we make it better? We need change and we need it fast.

You have a good point about Murray and Herbert not necessarily stepping into stellar positions. I didn’t get my point across very well.

The gist of what I was trying to say is that I’ve lost all faith in being a QB away as long as the Broncos keep this coaching staff. Maybe you hit the lottery and a guy is able to step in as a rookie and put the entire team on his back despite a terrible scheme, but that’s a LOT to ask of a young guy getting acclimated in the NFL. But I think it’s a lot more likely this staff ends up limiting the development of any talented draft pick.

Unless we get Rodgers I think this team is more of a coaching staff away from competing than a qb away. though I really hope I’m wrong.

I said fire pat Shurmur last October, and I think mase thought I was overreacting.

The recipe to beat the steelers was to stop the run. Watching them run all over us made me sick.

Thanks for the pod guys

The broncos are a team with no ownership literally and figuratively. There isn’t enough product from the green solution to continue to get me excited for this team (other than von and javonte). Were a team ran by coordinators. We do not have a head coach, we don’t have a group of solidified leaders from our players. Payton has yet to make a statement move. , Joe Ellis is a non existent “owner ” who openly cant wait to leave.
Wake me up from this misery when we draft Malik Willis and elon is our new owner.
Anyway,
Love the pod and love yall.

Hi guys,

Still feeling deflated here, I feel it’s just going to get worse!
Can you imagine the feeling if we lose to Vegas even though they are in turmoil?
I really hope, as Zac and RK discussed, changes are made after the Browns game, Shurmur and McMahon gone and the search to replace Vic begins…..Cheers

***Only read this if RK, Mase and Zac are on the Pod please***

Hey fellas, long time no speak. Still been listening, and posted a few comments, but they were late and didn’t get read out, so let’s try again..

First of all, sad to hear of the Count leaving. Thanks for all your posts, going back to the BSN days, they usually made me chuckle, and you’ll be missed for sure.

Right, onto my post, and this is going to get a bit ranty, and long, I’m sorry. I am usually a reserved fan, and don’t tend to criticise players or coaches. I have strong takes about drafting a QB in the top 10, sure, cause that is like pushing your chips to the dealer and screaming “all in”, but when it comes to lambasting our team, I don’t tend to do it. Until now..

I too thought it was an overreaction to fire Vic and Shurmur last year. I’m now fully onboard with those who wanted that, they were right. Get rid as quickly as we can, if ownership change allows.

Vic is more of a ‘rabbit in the head lights’ as a HC, than a lot of rookie QBs are. His play calling, clock management, player motivation, player engagement, and general decision making, are all woeful. He’s cost us games, and I was willing to give him time, but he isn’t learning, and is not head coach material.

I am SICK of the past 5 seasons, and NFL pundits across North America saying our Defense is either Elite or Stellar, or even very good. It is not, it is average at best, and has not been good since a few years after Wade left. If your offense is so crap, opposing teams don’t try for big plays, they play conservatively, to give them a better chance of winning. They go easy on us, and THAT is why our defensive statistics are so good. Yet another reason I rarely use stats to evaluate teams, players, or coaches. Rely on your eye people, not the numbers, and that goes out to EVERYONE covering American Football. So, is Vic a Defensive Mastermind? No, he is not. I really miss Wade Phillips ?

Next in the crosshairs, is Shurmur..

The beauty of American Football, Patrick, is the fine line between the run and the pass. It all revolves around that. The defense can sell out to stop the run, and will be likely to do so if they do, but that opens up the passing game. It’s the offense’s job to fool the defense. This is the game, that’s the chess match that I have fallen in love with. Sure, some individual pieces of brilliance can rise above that, and make plays when they shouldn’t, but when I, as a casual fan, never get fooled on whether it is run or pass, then opposing defenses are surely in the same boat. Shurmur has forgotten the basics of the game it seems. Play Action is VITAL to fooling the D. Does he have any PA in his playbook even?! We run and pass when we should be doing the opposite, with little creativity. It’s becoming painful to watch.

So yep, I’m all aboard the ‘coach clear-out’ train…Choo Chooooo

Peace out and love to all fellas, although finding it difficult to send love to Vic and Shurmur at the moment

Hey fellas. I just need to get something off my chest.

I don’t think people are giving Drew enough credit. Everyone seems to be of the opinion “Man, if Drew has to start, we are SCREWED”, or now Drew is just below-average backup material.

Come on guys. It’s not like he’s David Blough. Its not like we spent the ENTIRE off season and most of the preseason just trying to see who was better between Drew and Teddy, and just ended up going tie to the new-comer. Yea, his stats didn’t look great in that Steelers game, but honestly, Teddy’s didn’t either. I think he performed about as well as he could’ve, given he was going in for the first time in 4 weeks against a defense that just concussed our starter.

Now I’m still not convinced either are our long term answer. I think that this season will just end up being a throwaway, with a new QB room and new coaching staff next year. All I ask is just put a little respect on the man’s name. We have one of the best backups in the league at this point.

Rant over. Thank you

Simple question, is the offense broken? Or are we not putting enough into how an offense changes when it loses its WR1? I love Sutton but to me jeudy is clearly the Wr1

If Pat Shurmur were answering candidly, what would he say are the reasons that the Broncos offense is below average this year?

My Peoples!

I am tired of this team and their lame ass excuses. I have zero patience in a sports world filled with entertaining product. Jazz basketball starts in 8 days, and from that point on the Broncos will be an after thought unless some coaching changes are made and some players are traded for draft capital by the deadline. I would rather watch a bad team with a plan then a talented roster with troglodytes for coaches and front office personal. I love this team and I just hate being left behind. It feels like with no actual owners the fans have been left behind.

Also Kyle Fuller is big trash, not just bad.

sup Zac/Mase/RK (whoever happens to be on next podcast), long time first time. keep up the excellent work.
I know we’ve all beaten this horse but I gotta say this to people who understand the frustration, my wife is really tired of pretending to listen when I start ranting. My expectations for Shurmur this season were so incredibly low to start with and he still finds ways to disappoint. I think the only area of life he’s creative in is finding ways to disappoint me. if I was on that offense I would have no faith in any of his play calls, and if I was Teddy I’d just start calling my own plays with the wristband and whatever personnel are on the field. probably an awful idea but at this point something needs to change and we all know it won’t be Shurmur

Missed the cut off yesterday so let’s go quick here

Shurmur is who we thought we was. It’s frustrating to see a team loaded with talent flounder around so disengaged.

I’m with RK in the fact that I want a young head coach, or at least someone who doesn’t coach like they’re absolutely terrified of unorthodox strategies or run away at the first thought of creativity on offense.

Now onto todays news, G-uck F-ruden. Thought he was an overrated tool before this came out, glad to know I was right. This is a big week for Denver because nothing brings a team together like adversity. I’m calling it now, THE TOUCHDOWNLESS OPENING DRIVE STREAK ENDS THIS WEEK.

Not on the season is over train yet, but a lot needs to change if this team wants to make the playoffs. It seems like this offense is only successful with at least one of Jeudy or Hamler to get open or to take guys off of Sutton and Patrick. We love Hinton and he’s done nothing wrong, but you can’t expect him to play the same role as your 1st/2nd round pick. Injuries suck but they happen. The offense has changed from week 1 and they play calling needs to change with it.

Lots of comments so I’ll try to keep this quick!

Sunday was me and my girlfriends 3 year anniversary, and family thanksgiving (I’m Canadian eh) so I missed the game in the morning. I had my phone turned off and spent the morning/afternoon with my girl. At dinner, the fam had the football games on, and I had to stop watching every time the scores would pop up on the bottom. Happened to make it till 10pm at night to watch the game.. all I have to say is, thanks god there’s a skip 30 seconds buttons so i didn’t waste 3 hours of my day watching the most pathetic coaching performance, and if you remember my rant last week I thought last week was bad too!

Reposting from yesterday

My dudes!! First of all, sorry for my extended break from the comments section. I have been enjoying it from a distance on the daily. But today I am back and I am channeling my inner pissed-off RK from early training camp.

I am sad to tell you all, but I have officially lost all faith in this coaching staff. In year three as a unit under Vic, there has been ZERO progress shown in all three phases of the team.

Offense – same issues since Kubiak departed just a new QB and OC combo that does not know how to bring the fight to defenses

Defense – no pass rush, over promise, and under-delivering.

Special teams – no need to expand here.

I’m just so disappointed that Vic waited his whole life to get a HC job, and he refuses to be hands on with any aspect of the team that is not “his defense”. You can’t just punt to Shurmur and McMahon and pray it works out.

Lastly, I am highly let down by our highest-paid players. Simmons, Harris, Gordon, Miller, Fuller, Callahan, Bolles, Glasgow… how many times are the majority of them going to be no show and not help rally the troops. Our best performing players are guys on their rookie deals, street contracts, or low tenders. The high-paid vets are supposed to be THE team and the young guys are supposed to be the extra juice.

Paton – I’m ready for you to do what you need to do to build a winner. Any of these “core players” that have been on the roster since 2016 are expandable IMO.

Rant over it will Be less in the future.

So when Fangio was hired, did he mean “death by inches” is going to be the standard and what they aim for??

Well I waited to post my comment because I was hoping a report would come out that Fangio didn’t fly home with the team. Instead Bronco’s PR tells us he went to a ranch in upstate New York where he will live out his days running and playing and chasing retired linebackers. The same place my parents sent my dog and gold fish when I was seven. Then in ten years the true story comes out that the team veterinarian who takes care of Thunder just put him down and out of his misery. Guess we won’t be so lucky this week. SMH

Ryan thanks for hanging out after the game even though you were running on empty and Zac props to your Ninja skills for slipping out past me! See ya next trip guys
