I cant believe how different it feels to be a Broncos fan today! Made my first comment with RK the other day just wanted to say hi to Zac and Mase! Wow what more can I say? First of all I’ve been a pretty big DEMOTER of Fant and Lock. Didnt like what I was seeing from Fant and didnt like Lock’s inconsistency in college! But boy am I eating my words now. Did anyone else get chills seeing that performance today? I swore it reminded me of Elway throwing to Sharpe. I know I’m really excited and should pump the breaks but heck I’m a guy who DIDNT think these guys were the answer! Dare I say Lock looking a bit like Mahomes with those off balance and sidearm throws? Elway is probably laughing laughing back at Dove Valley right now!! That seems unreal to me. Hate to sound like a Raiders fan (I’m around lots of them in California) but I think the refs directly decided the outcome of 3 games this season. And we choked another away. But that’s 4 wins lost away, imagine what could have been if Lock was in soon! Holy cow GO BRONCOS!

Hey guys.

Just wanted to say WE SCORED OVER 24 POINTS!!! I know I should still pump the breaks on Lock but I’m too hyped!!
Alright question how do we avoid being like Houston and come out flat after a signature win in KC?

Drew Lock is most certainly the guy! So freaking pumped to watch this Chiefs game next week! We are 2-0 against teams who played the Patriots the week before, just saying.

It’s very unlikely we make the playoffs and a 7-9 or 8-8 record will give us a draft pick in the late teens or early twenties. But we now have confidence in our QB, head coach, and defense plus all the draft capital we’ve accumulated so the season isn’t a total failure. I see a playoff spot for us next season, whether we beat KC for the division (please, Lord ?) or whether it’s a wild card spot. I think we go 4-2 in our division, 3-1 vs the poopy NFC South, 2-2 vs the AFC East and 2-0 in the other 2 games putting us at 11-5. Am I being too optimistic? What do yall think about our chances next year?

This was a great game overall and a lot of fun to watch. As you guys mentioned, Attachou has been an animal as of late. With all the nickname talk for Lock, how about “The Sneeze” for Attachou? His play has been contagious! 😉

On to another fun one against the Chiefs, can’t wait!

After that BEAUTIFUL performance, I can’t help but want to rank Lock against the best QBs out there. Help me out here: which NFL QBs would you trade Lock for in a straight up deal?

Second, how does he stack up compared to guys like Burrow, Tua, and Trevor?

Well fam, I haven’t felt this hopeful in years. Just as anger was starting to turn to apathy, a new hope has arrived. You know what I want to hear ringing from Mile High when they return?

Next home game, chant it after every TD pass!
Put it on the stadium display!!

Sorry, but I’ve been waiting so long for this team to once again be great, and in Lock I see the potential for greatness. If this showed the kind of game Stangs can call with Lock as Q, I’m excited for the future. Keep up the great coverage guys.

Perhaps we all owe the coaching staff & the front office an apology for the hot fire we all spat about the handling of Drew Lock earlier in the season. At this point, it looks like their plan, whatever it was, has worked to perfection and I truly believe the fact Drew was able to sit and learn for 2+ months has been a factor in his early success. I don’t think he would have looked this good in Indy or Minnesota or Buffalo and allowing him the maximum amount of time to learn and grow as a young QB before playing him is paying off big time.

Speaking of apologies, I owe B-Mac an apology as I was calling for his head a couple weeks ago and he promptly went out and won the game vs LA (despite his temper tantrum before halftime).

December 9, 2019

What a great game and coming out party for Lock! If every team in the NFL doesn’t transition to using virtual reality for their young QBs in the next few years I would be shocked. I guess like Mase said it really is all about that VR throw.

That was fun! Drew Lock is continuing to show that he can be the future of this franchise.

This makes me even more excited to travel to Kansas City next weekend and see my first ever Broncos game! Also Mase, if you’re going to be there I’d love to meet up with you, talk football, and of course have a few brews!

Appreciate you guys, on to KC!

First comment, I found you guys this off-season when I was starving for meaningful Broncos content in the mountains of North Carolina. I can’t believe we’re here! After an agonizing start to the season, wandering through the dessert of Flacco and Allen, we’ve finally made it to the promise Land of Drew Lock. I can’t believe my ears! Are we actually comping Drew to the Duke himself? I love it!!! The Denver Broncos future is looking bright and I for one, can’t wait to see what the future holds! Go Broncos!!!

All we need is the steelers and texans to lose out and its us in the drivers seat for the playoffs. #so you’re telling me there’s a chance! I was very impressed with everything I saw from drew lock. I hope he can develope his footwork and step into his throws. If he does that he has a chance to become a top 10 qb next year. Also, for the love of god, pay the man. All the men. The whole team. Except bolles.

Hey guys, I still can’t believe we actually have a good QB that can win as games, that was so fun to watch, his enthusiasm and desire to play fires up this hole team, its incredible, finally seen what this offense can do, was that too much to ask for Rich? Now, about the defense, don’t know if you agree with me on this but i really think we still lack a real cover LB, both our starting guys are good against the run and sometimes they do the job against the pass, but Todd Davis today for example was picked on a lot of plays one on one with a receiver or a back and couldn’t do it, i think this defense will really compete to be the best next year if they target this position in FA or the draft. Anyway, so pumped up to see how this team does against the chiefs, will surely be a great game, keep up the awesome coverage

My three Amigos! Long time listener, first time commenting. Awesome game today! It was fun and exciting to be cheering rather than cursing!
On another note, I think our new QB, “Buzz” listens to the show! Did you see the “Laser” shots after his touchdown passes?

I really hope Drew is the guy this was finally fun again! But I want to step back and ask how much of the success is because there isn’t film on Drew? Also I’m now thinking we should go WR and then O line in the draft. Which Wr would compliment this offense? I know what Ryan will say but is that our best option?

December 9, 2019

Big win bullet points my broncos buds:
•Lock earned the visor today.
•Drew’s “secure the bag” celly is way better than buzz.
•Scangs impressed big time entire game but the fake RB bubble, Dump pass to Fant with 6:08 left in the 2nd that went for 20+ yards which was set up earlier in the drive had me salivating.
•Kareem Jackson….my god
•Today was very easily the most fun I’ve had since Peyton.
•Trying to have very very conservative optimism about what Lock is and will be is out the window 100% all in on the guy. Now let’s continue to build up the rest.

So what is Drew’s PG nickname?

Corse locked glock?
Horse clock lock?
Norse crock lock?

Who cares. The banners of Drew Lock will hang from rafters, long, like a horse… well you get it.

Anyhoot, Animal genitalia related names aside, what a game. Still speechless.

That wasn’t “the double A pitcher”. There was plenty of schemed pressure at him. He stood in there and just flat out beat them. It was truly amazing to watch.

You know who also had their coming out party? Scangs. It feels like that he’s always had it in him but has been told to “dial in down” when they were playing with a lead, and almost trying to do something “unnatural” for him. This game looked like he was told to call it as he wanted and my god did it look good. I’ve always watched the chiefs and wondered “how on earth are guys getting THAT open”…well I saw that today with scangs. RB and TEs running wide open underneath coverage which was focusing on WRs 30 yards down field.

Creative and not naive. Fast, but very deliberate. Schemed but not cute. Aggressive but not stupid. Perfect.

So let’s raise our Breck Brews and join the Drew Crew!!!!!!

My dudes. Been a while! What. A. Game. Seeing our offense operate like that made me think I was watching the wrong game!! I mean Lock threw to like ten different receivers! Guys I am a man of my word and I will provide photographic proof of said poop in shoe if that unlikely event comes! That being said…
DREW HORSE ? LOCK!!!!
BUZZ LOCKYEAR!!!

Man I think what I love most about this guy is that he will almost certainly be every other teams least favorite player eventually but that makes him so much more lovable by us!!

Unrelated but after watching the conference championships over the weekend I have a strategy to make this offense even more dynamic. So we sign a guy like Castonzo in FA then with our first pick we take none other than the otherworldly Ceedee Lamb (I mean did you see him this weekend), then we use our fat stack of mid rounders to trade back into the bottom of the first and get Biadasz! Sounds like a fool proof plan especially now that it looks like we might be playing our way away from the top 3 tackles! Just a thought but would love this offensive strategy!

Been awhile, had to get off IR before I could post again. 2 things, first my area of Rochester is sadly out of a Breck Brew. Good news: because I bought it all to celebrate Drew Lock being the Man. Second, a drunken haiku:

What up guys, victory Monday! But I think we need to pump the brakes on Lock…. just kidding, I am sold! His enthusiasm seems infectious, and he is the right leader for this young core of players on offense. Some other great performances from Kareem and Fant and a fascinating matchup between CH Jr and Hopkins. Props to Scangs as well, loved his game plan. Finally Bolles put together a second decent game, any chance he can redeem himself enough to have a spot on the line next season?

First of all, what a joy it was to have Andre on the game recap Pod. However, the lack of Mase (the voice of realism), meant I think you guys got a little carried away..

I think we need to calm down just a little bit; this was Drew Lock’s second game, against another poor defense. This is not Elway 2.0…..YET!

He made a terrible throw that got intercepted, and wasn’t aware of incoming Blitzers (credit to O-Line for limiting these), and was a little green around the edges on a few other things.

**HOWEVER**

He DID make two or three throws that made me sit up and take proper notice. That back-foot throw to Patrick, that laser to Fant, even the little dink over the middle when pressure was in his face; they all impressed me.

All in all, I have to say that Drew Lock has made even me, the most realistic of fans, probably even more than Mase, just a little bit excited. Big test next week, and if he comes through that with more positives than negatives, and we beat the Raiders, then I might have to rip down the bLOCKade and wash off the sunbLOCK, and declare myself a bLOCKhead like the rest of Broncos Country.

Alas, we aren’t quite there yet. Foot. Still. On. Brake.

Wow…. just wow. I had to watch the game on my Iphone in an airport and on the plane between Brisbane and Sydney. Happy to say there were some public fist pumps and whoops at 20,000 feet as Drew Lock threw his 3 TDs. This game single handedly has made up for every deflating game and loss with Flacco, Allen or Keenam under centre. God that felt good, my whole day was better after that game. My flight back to Sydney was delayed by an hour later that afternoon, but who cared, because I threw the earphones on at the airport and watch the game again.

PS: Mitch Witchnowsky (Utah) – the aussie punter drafted by the 49ers this year is a weapon. Love to see him in Orange and Blue.

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but in the video of the postgame victory speech, McManus is standing away from the rest of the teammates and is completely emotionless when Fangio is giving his speech and handing out the game balls. He has the exact same reaction when Vic announced that they’re having two days off.

Also something I found interesting- Mike Klis ran an article the other day (before the Houston game) about the team’s biggest needs, and said that the team will make cornerback and receiver their priority this offseason. He specifically said that the team is looking for a ‘young Emmanuel Sanders’.

That’ll probably be something that’s addressed in the draft because the FA class isn’t much to write home about. That being said, we all know that Odell isn’t long for Cleveland. He reportedly wanted to be traded to the Broncos because of his relationship with Von. I know the contract is usually a hurdle but the Broncos can afford it especially when they have a rookie QB, and I can’t see the Browns getting a 1, so we’re probably talking a Day 2 pick. I know that Odell has some character concerns, but he’s a saint compared to what Emmanuel was doing this offseason.

Wow! Wow! I believe that Drew Lock is the guy. I hope I’m not wrong on this. But here is something that angered me yesterday. I was watching the Seattle and LA Rams game and they announced the best Corners of all time. I didn’t see Champ Bailey. How can this be? The guy was the best cover/tacking corner I have ever seen. Especially playing during a time when you are not allowed to touch anyone. In fact I didn’t see any “current guys” on that dumb list. I get he’s not Prime Time but he is definitely a top 5 corner. I don’t care about anyone else. Thoughts?

Sorry guys for the extra comment just got into a talk with my co worker and we figured out how we can make the playoffs. Tell me how likely you think it is.

Broncos – Win out
Steelers- Lose out
Texans – Lose out
Browns – Lose 2
Raiders – Lose 2
Colts – Lose 2

Interestingly enough this would all hinge on the Titans at least going 10-6 (2 wins over the Texans)

Hey guys! Thanks always for the great content. Always grateful to have a place to get all the BroncosCountry news I can handle.

Just a short comment:

Not only did Drew Lock elevate the confidence of the players, I also believe he elevated the confidence of Coach Scangarello. I think he finally has a qb in whom he can dial up creative plays and will be able to execute them. It is starting to seem that maybe Coach Scangarello hasn’t been limiting the qbs, but possibly the qbs have been limiting Coach Scangarello.

As always, thanks for the great podcast.

I was going to write a comment about pumping the breaks, but damnit I don’t care! Hop on Mase, this train is leaving without you!

Drew Lock was well worth the wait, and I feel like we will all owe this coaching staff and John Elway an apology when it’s all said and done. It’s quite possible that they make millions because they know more about football than any of us!

I know the value of a cost controlled QB is in the formula for winning a Super Bowl, but what about a cost controlled Offense? Every key player on that offense was either a rookie or year 2 player! What is the floor and ceiling for 2020 given our draft capital and available cap if Drew Lock can be 75% of the QB he has show to be the last 2 weeks?

MillerLife58

MillerLife58

December 9, 2019

Wow. What a game. I think this is the most excited I have been during a Broncos game since Super Bowl 50. The future is bright!

Can we finally give Elway some credit since he has been getting shredded by Broncos fans for the past few years? Trading back in the first round to be able to get Fant (huge success), Risner (huge success), and Lock (looking like huge success). Despite being a big disappointment so far, Juwaan James did look solid yesterday and showed promise for the future! And Kareem Jackson is turning into one of my favorite Broncos! Elway has hit on almost every offseason move outside of Grumpy Joe. If Lock continues to pan out, could this be considered the greatest draft class in Denver Broncos history?

OK guys, THAT was fun! It’s been a very long time since my whole family finished a game with me, cheering, shouting, and smiling. It felt so freaking good. Lock put up an other-worldly performance and the whole team seemed determined to match his enthusiasm and energy. I don’t want to take anything away from this as it was just a wonderful day to be a Broncos fan.

That said, a 2 game sample size isn’t enough for me to have confidence that Drew is the guy moving forward (not that we have any other choice). I want it more than anything but at my core, my heart is telling me to pump the brakes and manage expectations. Honestly, it just feels too good to be true….probably due to the dark cloud that has been hanging over the franchise for the past 4 years. So please, cure my aching heart – tell me how Drew is different than any other young/rookie QB who started strong (like the AAA pitcher analogy) and then plateaued into mediocrity. Please? Much love fellas.

Hello Gents

Surely if we all have a case of Lock fever it should be Drewbella! Or as people now call it the Drew Lock train I am going The Flying Locksman!

What a game though! The world of suck is over! I declare the Age of Lock has begun!!

I think of all the QBs since Manning Lock is the one everyone wants to see succeed and get behind. All the others were missing a certain something (or in some cases nearly everything) but Drew seems to have the whole package and can unite this fanbase.
All he needs is to be set free and be allowed to make both the good plays and the bad. Both will make him a better player.
If Scangs keeps calling games like that then it will be like someone hitting the hyperspace button on this offence!

Was also awesome last week to here that Mase’ mum is from Bradford here in Yorkshire. As a born and bred Bradfordian its pretty cool to know I have a link to the best Broncos podcast out there.
