Hi gentlemen. Don’t want to be a downer but when I played football, I tore my ACL, LCL, and PCL on a single play. The doctor that I worked with called it the “Holy Trinity” injury. It took a two years of rehab and never was quite the same again. Obviously I’m not the beast Javonte is but just to keep Broncos country’s expectations realistic, we might not see Javonte at full speed for a while.

On the bright side, can we talk about how good Montrell has been??

My boys,

So i tried finding the stats for Montrell Washington for see if he had any drops, looks like he has none, I’d love to see him at wide receiver more with those sure hands, and boy do we miss Tim Patricks safe hands. Cheers

Hey Guys!

TL;DR it’s coming, but that moment will take longer than it did with PFM

I remember that moment. I was sitting in the pit in the back of the Dark Horse in Boulder. Primetime, the Broncos are down 24-0. There are 2 insufferable chargers fans (yes they actually do exist) in front of me amid a crowd of orange and blue. Everyone’s heavily invested in their wings, burgers, beers, etc. Disinterested in the rest of the game. No one in the room, not the bartenders, not the pats fan that despised PFM, not the chargers fans, and none of the broncos fans believed the game was still a contest. Not since Portis and Plummer was this team making a comeback. It wasn’t DTs touchdown coming out the half that everyone felt it click. It was Tony Carter that changed it. The offense came back on with a swagger of a team blowing out a bitter rival. The bar locked in and hummed in anticipation for Manning’s 2nd half clinic. It’s finally happening.

That moment is coming. But the circumstances are different. First time coaches, new systems across the board, younger players that haven’t had a taste of postseason action… As fitting as it would be for that click to happen on primetime, week 6 against that same team, it’ll be a bit longer. Either week 8 in London, or week 11 against these same Raiders we just ran out of time on, if I had to call My shot. We’ll get there

Hey guys!
Broncos fans are the most to blame for the Gordon fumbles. Since joining the team he has been scrutinized for being a really good running back. From the moment he joined the team he has never received any love from the fans. People complained he took Phillip Lindsay job and how he took away carries from Javonte. For the last three years he has been consistently told he sucked and they wanted him off the team. If someone told me for three years straight I sucked at my job I would not have confidence in my skills to do my job. Broncos fan needs to do better plain and simple. These players are human and not just a pawn for your entertainment.

Re-watching the game showed there was a lot of positive. Great to see improvement on offense. There was not a lot of tape of the Raiders running the ball so I think we were caught flat-footed. Need to adjust faster. Love the Murray signing.

How about when Jewell causes a fumble the crowd sings to the tune of Who Let the Dogs Out: “Who knocked the ball out Jewell, Jewell, Jewell.

Or whenever Jewell makes a good play the crowd can sing just the chorus line from Who will save your souls? by Jewell.

That said, here is a KU for U:

I appreciate all your coverage and work. I live in San Diego so I have first hand experience of Gordon. All 5 Charger fans down here didn’t call him a “good running back”. Where else in life can you make this many mistakes, apologize and do the same thing again and be forgiven. This is just like a cheating spouse. Never liked the Gordon signing. Season is not over yet.

Hey Guys,

Been listening to the pod for almost 5 years! but this is my first time commenting.
First off I wanna thank you all for what you do, it truly is something remarkable, and not a lot of other fanbases get to have the kind of quality coverage that we do thanks to you. It really gets me through each and every day.

Secondly, I’ve never been one to press the panic button and I’m still not there yet, but I am concerned with the identity/ creativity of our offense under Hackett. I think we need to either come up with a solution to our PA/ boot game quick, or even try and work more spread, getting Russ more passing attempts and possibly some more work outside the numbers. I’m afraid our run game is going to be a huge issue and with Jevonte out for the foreseeable future, we could use Melvin Gordon as more of a pass Protector in spread looks if we cant get the run to set up PA (The broncos are also last in the NFL in running out of shotgun). I feel like its ALMOST time for a plan B, I know its not Hackett’s offense necessarily but when I look at teams like Buffalo or KC, even the Rams, It makes me wonder why we cant have the same with Wilson. Off course better O-line play helps everything, but I guess we have to plug leaks as we find them and adapt to our play style to injuries as they come.

Sorry for the long comment, keep the good work guys… yall rock.

Arguably, we’re 4-0 this season, and don’t have a loss streak to KC without Melvin. It is exactly this situation that feeds the “addition by subtraction” mentality of rapid-fire, early season cutting players/firing coaches/making personnel changes in football.

To me, there is no self-contained redemption story for Fumbies on Thursday, because he’s run up a three W tab. Can you imagine an RB singlehandedly taking over three games?

On the flip side, the Denver Boo Birds continue to dunk on Coach Hackett. I’m going to hammer this stance until the wild horses come home to roost, or until I’m forced to issue a formal apology: This coaching staff has demonstrated that they address issues and get better week to week, and they aren’t going to stop until this is a top tier team.

Penalties, while they’re not in a great spot, are coming down. The trends will probably take time to develop fully, but I have way, WAY more confidence in the work being done so far this season than I ever did with the previous staff.

THAT was banging the head against the wall, same story every week, absolute doldrums. We’re missing the forest for the trees a bit, four games into the season.

Maybe a hot take but, it might be best for us if Taylor starts this week, so Lindsay doesn’t get called up and we can get him for free Friday AM.

This might be even spicier, but I don’t think that Paton is keeping Melvin on the roster after Thursday. Long week, long time to get someone new in and up to speed. He might not even shy from a splash trade, because I don’t think we’re just in things for this season.
I just hope we don’t get stuck with an RB committee featuring Fumbies all season.

Reminding Broncos Country, all the fun rides are fast, and bumpy, and scary, and make us barf or pee, but that is part of what makes them fun. Sometimes we just have to take a moment and remember to enjoy them while they’re happening, because all rides eventually come to an end.

Cheers,

He goes on to say… (sry)

I keep thinking the Indy game is lowkey big. Last year when we lost to every team in a pathetic NFC East. Beating out a worse division is HUGE to the overall season, especially if those teams can hang L’s on our division opponents.

Hi boys,
To follow up my comment regarding cutting Mel, that was before the Javonte announcement. I will fully support and root for him as a part of this team and agree with RK that this could be the exact opportunity he needs to get his mind right. Remember the Jets game in 2020? Melvin put it away for us!

My question for today: did the Broncos think Billy Turner would be ready before week 5/6 when they signed him? For a one year replacement, I’m beginning to seriously question the signing. I know Fleming has played better than we thought he might, but RT is still a clear issue.

PS, I found an amazing restaurant here in Nash that has Colorado style Mexican food! It’s not Tex Mex or traditional Mexican, sort of a blend of both (with good Green Chile) that just reminds me of Coloradan Mexican food. Hopefully you guys will get a chance to try it when you come out here.

Wondering who will emerge in the RB room. GP prepared and has two good Rbs but who could have expected Gordon fumbies? Just hoping for a good game, building season. Let’s Ride

Fellas,

Do you see a Phillip Lindsay revenge game happening?

October 5, 2022

Because I’m still very, very pissed at Melvin, I made a decision. I made a parlay of Gordon o/54.5 yards, Melvin anytime TD, and Broncos ML. This is going to force me to cheer for Melvin, otherwise I know that I wouldn’t have. Melvin, please don’t dissapoint me again. My heart (and bank account) can’t take it haha.
