My Boys! Subscriber from AZ here. In looking at some of the QB’s in 22 draft, Bailey Zappe Looks like he could be a later round sleeper at QB in this draft. Any takes you guys have on him? Also, if we do get a vet like Russ or ARod who do you think is our backup? Ryp? Lock? Late round draft pick? Or find a league circulated backup? Stay safe and Go Broncos!

What is the scenario that people keep bringing up in which Peyton Manning and some “group” take ownership of the Broncos? Would Peyton Manning just purchase a fractional slice of the Broncos or a group would outright buy the Broncos and make Peyton Manning the face of ownership? I love the idea of Peyton Manning being in on Broncos ownership but I guess I’m a little confused as to how it works. Also, in this kind of scenario, do you think Brittany Bowlen could have a part of ownership as well and have a role within the organization?

Finally subscribed after listening since the BSN days and listening to Mase on Orange and Blue 760. I will be in Denver next September to visit my daughter who moved there a year and a half ago, I’m going for the DNVR bus trip and the whole Mile High experience for my first Broncos home game. Why are people throwing around names like Jim Harbaugh, Kirk Cousins and Matt Ryan? Haven’t we suffered enough? Those names get me about as excited as I am for my next colonoscopy! Please no more garbage QB’s or coaches! Peace out.

As I’m sure the rest of Broncos Country agrees, I’m tired of the quarterbacks that are through with the best part of their careers already (now maybe saying that is hypocritical as the Broncos are trying for Russ and Aaron, but those may be exceptions). I’m tired of having an OC that presses triangle every time like he’s pressing the coach suggested plays in madden! And having a head coach that doesn’t know when to call timeouts, and challenges whatever he feels if it has a .01% chance to work. And holding my breath anytime any special teams play happens! It’s frustrating, and going 1-5 against divisional opponents has to stop! I don’t know what will happen, but I’m hoping George P has a plan in place, something the Broncos haven’t had in years…

I find myself thinking about the future of Fangio and coming to a difficult question. The question is this: If you aren’t going to fire Fangio after three losing seasons, what will you do in his fourth losing season when his contract is up?

Realistically, the Broncos have one path to having a winning season next year. That’s signing Wilson or Rodgers. If we sign another mid-grade journeyman quarterback we will get the same results as this season. If we bring in a rookie we will definitely have a losing season but with potential to be something better the year after.

Unless you’re confident we have an inside line on an elite quarterback I say pull the bandaid off and fire Fangio. You aren’t going to extend a coach who has never had a winning season. So why waste another season on him when you could be starting to rebuild our coaching staff now?

First off, wanted to say thank you to the whole team for the great work this season and especially on this essentially meaningless final week. Can’t wait to hear all the great off-season content!

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I DO NOT want Rodgers. I was all in on this 6 months ago but his recent controversy has just completely turned me off. Is he the most talented QB ever? Probably. Should I separate personality from the field of play? Probably. I just can’t. The whole debacle put a horrible taste in my mouth and I can’t root for him anymore. Give my RW3 or give me Strong!

I was going to write a comment ranting about how Matt Ryan is a much better QB than Derek Carr, and Flacco, obviously, but Mase’s comment on Jimmy G’s expressive eyes had me in stitches, even dropped my wrench I was laughing so much. Comedy Gold, because I couldn’t tell if Mase was serious or not. Which reminds me..

Something I regularly go back and have a giggle about, is when RK thought Mase called his junk his ‘dagger’, when it was just the Manscape copy he was reading. Laughing as I type this even. Dagger!! LMAO ???

It is starting to seem like Rodgers is going to stay in Green Bay, and it is no sure thing that we could get Russ. Of all the QBs who could possibly be available, I don’t want any of them. You will need to pay big money for a decent one, and as Mase calls out (correctly), that you shouldn’t pay elite money for non-elite talent. If we don’t land a big name, I think the best solution is run with Drew, a cost controlled QB, draft a QB 1, and then use the money saved by not having a pricey QB, and go get a stud OL. How say you?

I know a lot of fans have lamented the idea of bringing in Dan Quinn, particularly because he’s a defensive guy, but I don’t think he’s gotten a fair shake. Yes, he’s a defensive guy but he’s more of the CEO type as HC and couldn’t be more different than Vic Fangio. Quinn is a players coach and the players absolutely adore him, and he was able to construct multiple solid offensive staffs. With all the money this team has invested in its defense, it would behoove Paton to not try and keep their level of performance high, and Dan Quinn is someone who can definitely do that. Yes he’s a little older, yes he’s a defensive coach but look into the guy, listen to his interviews, listen to his players/former players talk about him, he’s ANYTHING but Fangio 2.0.

I don’t like using the pro bowl as a measuring stick for player value when the coaching an QB situation is what it is. People and players vote for the pro bowl based on big plays and national media coverage, neither of which happened in Denver this season, and it had nothing to do with the skill players’ ability. Shurmur couldn’t game plan his way out of a paper bag, and the coaches very clearly valued ball security over winning games. The biggest value add a QB like Rodgers would have had in this offense is the veteran ability to ignore Shurmur and call his own plays on the field. This team has been a disaster area where talented players come to waste years of their prime playing 1990’s football and hoping this can be another unicorn year where generational defense wins the season for you and gets you to the dance. One day they’ll get an owner who will push accountability where it matters and the ideologies behind the game will change. Nothing else is going to help this team win while they try to play outdated football. Aiming for scoring “in the twenties” is why this team sucks, not the players’ abilities.

My boys! Not going to really talk about this week’s game because it’s going to be a train wreck. Now that the home/away opponents have been finalized, I’m looking forward to 2022! I’ll be going to watch the Broncos play in Cleveland, Carolina, and Seattle next year, and am going to come out for a home game at some point too. It’s funny that Mase brought it up the other day – because I too collect souvenir cups from each stadium I see the Broncos play in!

Browns fans here in Ohio are trying to run Baker out of town. What do you guys think about this option if Russ/Rodgers don’t pan out, and CLE doesn’t pick up his 5th year option?

Long live DNVR. Can’t wait to get back out there next year. That chicken sandwich sounds bomb.

Go Broncos.

Am I crazy for thinking Jameis Winston kinda sounds like the best option if Russ or Rodger don’t work out and no one in the draft stands out as worth a 1st round pick? Jameis seems like a rich man’s Drew Lock in his boom or bust type play and could be a cheaper option.

Appearing on Denver radio today, Adam Schefter made it sound that Paton would very much like to bring back Vic, saying that the Broncos “believe in him”. I almost threw up in my mouth.
