What do you guys think of the NFL only allowing team hired media in the locker room on game days? And they limit it to 50, does any team have 50 media members on their staff?

I simply love that the D has combined for 9 points surrendered and 9 points scored over two games! All levels of the depth chart of the defense contributed to that. Games are fun when the D is great! Now let the Giants worry about the QB completion. We’re good with either! Go TB5 and Drew!

I had this thought today.
Most agree teddy is who he is and he won’t regress or grow by any large amounts from what we have seen from him in the past.
I think his weapons here are a bit better than what he had in Carolina with McCaffrey hurt.
Teddy was clearly superior to lock last season in every measurable.
During the off season/TC/preseason it appears Drew has caught Teddy and is close to his equal. This is encouraging news.
I have gotten use to the idea that Vic will choose Teddy. However I think Lock will surpass him easily with real game experience. One of you mentioned that it might be beneficial for Lock to hold a clipboard for a guy like teddy for a few games or half a season. I seriously doubt Drew got much help from Flacco in the limited time they were together. That’s something that can potentially help Drew. I’m with Mase. Regardless of what happens here don’t count Drew out yet
Thanks for the content as always.

(reposting again. third times a charm, right?)
hey guys!
a couple of things i wanted to talk about that aren’t getting much attention;
1) the broncos had zero penalties against seattle. that was really impressive considering they were playing with backups and rookies for the most part and were playing on the road, in a loud and hostile environment. i feel like vic doesn’t get enough credit for having his team ready to play and disciplined.
2) kary vincent jr has been playing really well for the past two games. one of my favorite plays was last week vs minnesota, where it was a 4th and 5, and vincent came flying in and stopped the receiver 2 yards short of the first down. very limited sample size and weak competition, i know but pff currently have him with an 81.1 coverage grade for the preseason.
i know we always tend to overrate our players not clearing waivers, but a young guy with upside, has legit 4.3 speed and has shown he can cover? i don’t want to risk it with him.
what do y’all think?

Hi guys,
Floors are for walking on
Ceilings keep the rain out
Teddy will astound you all and break the mould by improving as a 28yo QB.
Zac, the Broncos online store has Trevor Seimian jerseys on sale for $11, load up my friend, one for every day of the week! ???
Cheers

sorry for double commenting but wanted to get y’alls thoughts on this while it’s still relevant;
what do you guys think about george paton being voted the second best talent evaluator and the most trustworthy gm already? if i’m not mistaken, i think elway was the least trustworthy last year?
MavBronco
Howdy Gents,
We know a 2nd rounder is worth around $16 million.
If there were no trade deadline and this type of deal was allowed to happen, what would a single win in the season be worth? If you were the GM of the Broncos and they sat 1 win away in week 18, would you pay the price to guarantee playoffs after the drought we’ve been in?
Thanks for the exercise in futility and thanks for the pod as always.

What do we expect to be the snap distribution to be right out of the gate for Gordon and Javonte?
Onion Booty Bronco
Dearest Trio of The DNVR Broncos Podcast,
Allow me to tell you a story…
Way back in the day, during his sophomore year of college, Onion Booty found himself in a quarterback competition—very similar to the one Drew Lock finds himself in today. Albeit mine took place in a forgettable city in the lowly ranks of Division III. Onion Booty was the high upside player. His teammates were pulling for him. The competitor was one year older, a junior. He was steady and, I’ll admit, demonstrated better control of the offense. This is the part where I tell you a silly fact about our head coach…
This was a man who would cry—dare I say weep—before games as a means to motivate us. (It did not.) You could catch him yelling inspirational things at us like: “No tight [bleep] holes” as we marched out of the locker room. Ultimately, coach decided to forgo the Booty in favor of the wily veteran. Onion Booty was the saddest boy you had ever seen. He had let down all of his compatriots. His career was over….
With a heavy heart, Onion Booty congratulated his competitor and went about his business as a professional. This is where our hero’s journey takes a turn for the better….
It was the first snap of the first game. A home game. Onion Booty stood on the sideline feeling like a sorry sack of rotten Onions. He watched as his competitor approached the line of scrimmage and placed his hands under the center’s rumpus. (Those were supposed to be Onion Booty’s hands under the rumpus.) Hut hut hike his competitor said. And then the ball was snapped. The competitor dropped back. He cocked his arm to the sideline and let it fly to his receiver running a 6 yard out route. A beautiful spiral…
A beautiful spiral that landed softly in the white mittens of the defender, breaking on the ball with eager anticipation, much like Patrick Surtain. The defender advanced the ball 30 yards into the endzone. Coach Cry Baby put Onion Booty in the game two drives later and the rest is history. Onion Booty would go on to be a three-year starter and the team would go on, still, to lose many games. But not that year. That year Onion Booty would lead the team to a winning record and an overtime victory against their arch rivals. On 4th down of that overtime game, he would huck the ball down the sideline for a 40 yard walk-off touchdown. Had he been wiser, Onion Booty would have retired right then and there. For it only got worse for himself and the team in the years to come. But I digress…
The moral of the story? Quit while you’re ahead. Just kidding… The moral, where it concerns Vic Fangio, is that, during the preseason, looks can be deceiving. While Teddy Bridgewater is NOT one of these, he has all the traits of a coach’s pet. Don’t fall too hard Vic. The mirage will fade. As for Drew? If you’re not named the starer, all the pressure is off you. This can be a blessing in disguise. Just wait in the wings for Teddy to throw that first pick six. Your time may come sooner than you think.
Love,
Onion Booty

After hearing lots of opinions on this subject, I have a thought nobody seems to be talking about. if Vic is truly being selfish with his quarterback evaluation, then choosing Drew Lock is the safer option. Think about the guys the have the most job security in the league, and are highly respected enough to be given more time with a team than they deserve in some situations. They don’t choose middling QBs or low upside guys, they always take the high ceiling. Rivera, McCarthy, Shanahan were so hard to give up on because they had lots of success with huge upside guys Cam, Rodgers, and Cutler respectively. It gave them a job security unlike any other. If the Chiefs make the AFC Conf. Champ. 4 times in the next 8 years and don’t have a single super bowl win in that time nobody will be wanting to fire Andy Reid because his QB is Mahomes, not game manager Alex, not Tyrod Taylor and certainly not Teddy Bridgewater. If Vic goes with Teddy he’s not only saying he has no belief this QB room can win a super bowl, he’s saying he and his coaching staff are unable to produce a high level quarterback from a flippin fantastic ball of clay. He’s saying he is short sighted enough to only care about this one season of his career and doesn’t care for job security for as long as Drew COULD be the franchise QB. Given that, if he chooses Teddy he’s wasting a year of Broncos football and he’s as good as gone. If the Bills had continued to play with Tyrod Taylor until he stopped getting them winning seasons there would be a new head coach in Buffalo because Josh Allen trended up BIG TIME. If he chooses Teddy, I’m done with Vic.
That is all, sorry for the long comment, have a great day my dudicles.

Hey guys has been a while for me. Took a break over the summer to let the QB competition and all the trade rumors play out.
Have a quick fantasy question for you interested to hear your takes
I am in a full PPR league and we are doing 1 keeper this year and the cost is one pick before the round they were drafted last year so I have narrowed down my choices to the following 3 options and was curious to hear your takes:
Johnathan Taylor cost 4th round pick ADP 10th overall (per Fantasy Pros)
Jerry Jeudy cost 11th round draft pick ADP 76th overall
or George Kittle for cost of 2nd round draft pick ADP 26th overall
(I am picking 7th of 10 for the record this friday, standard snake draft)
Excited for the season with you guys and really looking forward to seeing this defense in a full game. Think we are going to destroy the Giants no matter who the QB is. One last quick thought Vic’s 3rd year in Chicago is when that defense was outstanding. Think we are going to see an exceptional defense this year!

12 min into the pod for yesterday. You discussed what Vic said about when the announcement would be made. Vic says when the time is right. Just before it was argued he had already decided and leaned to Teddy… let me make an argument about why I am more confident it is Drew than before.
If he wanted Drew he wasn’t able To name Drew the starter after Vikings. Teddy didn’t play with the ones.
If he wanted Teddy he could name Teddy the started after the Seahawks and didn’t.
Last case and point it GP is influencing that the young guy get the start then it doesn’t matter what GP said publicly, if you go against your boss’s wishes you will be looking for a new job.
Yes the team’s performance affects Vic’s job but maybe how he works with GP is a bigger influence.

Hey fellas! Who would be your pick for interim HC? Mine would be Zach Azzanni he seems to be the funnest pick and already is showing up as a guy to watch as an emerging HC candidate for future openings. Is there a scenario where Vic gets fired and the Broncos bounce back and make a playoff run? Thanks for the content fellas,
Yah boi Wildcard!

Sorry for the double comment, but do you think we would retain Donatell in the case of Vic being fired? I don’t think anyone’s hated the defense during Vic’s regime, but just about everything else that is related to Vic.
MarkITsnatch
Hey guys!
So there’s an automatic assumption that Teddy is only a bridge until an franchise QB emerges. For the sake of playing devil’s advocate, with everything around him, this is the best situation he’s had since his injury in Minnesota. In this hypothetical, Teddy is the week one starter, and turns out to be the guy. What do you need to see from him this year for this to become a reality? And in this scenario, what happens to Drew?
At what point did the narrative change on Teddy? Before he was injured he was seen as a promising young QB who had led his team to the playoffs and a pro bowl. He gets injured, looked like the guy he was projected to be as a 1st rounder with the Saints and then had a mediocre year on a Panthers team with not much talent and questionable coaching.
I get that he doesn’t have a lot of arm strength but I don’t know how this guy went from future franchise QB to scrap heap guy when it’s not even like he had an extended period of diminishing play. Do you think it’s fair that so many feel “the book” on him has been written?
Repost from yesterday here, I remember at some point in 2019 there was some talk about Vic Fangio not quite gelling with the players and some reports of a bit of a rift. I’m not sure if there was anything to those, but I’m kind of curious as to what you guys think (or know) of the players feelings towards Fangio. You don’t really hear the players say much about him and I even recall K Jack in an interview talking about his experiences with past coaches and he didn’t say much about Fangio. I know he has a lot of respect as a defensive mind but do players feel the same way about him as a HC?

Hello guys longtime since I’ve posted. Been MIA due to a new baby girl added to the family!
Quick comment.
I’m pro Drew but Pro Broncos more. But if Teddy was deemed to be a legit starting qb in the league why is this stop 4/5 on his nfl journey?! Don’t we owe it to Lock even if it’s four games to see what he is all about? They’ve asked him to work on certain aspects and it’s clear he has improved on them. What more can you he do?
Top Job guys WB170

Teddy stans rejoice! Drew fans keep the faith. Broncos Fans, we have a QB. I hope Mase is on today so as to speak on this more but this team reminds me so much of the 2003 Panthers. The top notch defense with a plus offense being held back by a QB battle. Rodney Peete gets named the starter only to be replaced at half time of the season opener by Jake Delhomme. We know how the rest of the season turned out. A surprising super bowl run with a John Casey kick off out of bounds away from topping the Patriots in the super bowl. John Fox wasn’t afraid to get egg on his face by pulling Peete so early. I only hope that if in a similar scenario Vic has the same gumption to do what needs to be done.
Either way, keep the faith all and Go Broncos!

Sunday September 12th, Broncos down 3 on the road to the Giants and the Giants have the ball coming back from the two minute warning in field goal territory. The Giants run on first, second and third down and the clock keeps ticking down. Tick, tick, tick. “Why isn’t Fangio using any of his timeouts,” Mark Schlereth says, baffled in the booth. The clock hits zero, the Broncos prep their special teams for the field goal try and Vic is confused as Joe Judge is meeting him to shake his hand. Vic finally realizes it was the fourth quarter and he once again forgot to have any time awareness during a game.
At this moment Broncos fans will realize that this QB battle meant nothing and that our biggest problem was our coach all along. Fire Fangio.

QB A: 93.5 – QB B: 86.5
QB B has a combined DNVR preseason game scorecard win of 21 – 19points
and…. The scorecard was correct! Congrats boys. Teddy has been named the starter. I’m praying that this is a Bills scenario where we don’t get tempted into building around Teddy but have the guts to go and get our Josh Allen next year.
Drew is a great guy, but at the end of the day Patton didn’t go to bat for him and force him to play. Patton just didn’t have enough faith in him to stick his neck out there. Says a lot.
All i want is to win. Go Broncos!
Bronco_in_SD
Sorry typo…. QB A has the in game advantage haha

I am both devastated and relieved with the news of the QB competition being completed. I was on the side of Drew Lock and my view is most in-line with RK’s. With that being said, I will be fully supporting Teddy and him leading the charge. I think this team is set up for success, regardless of who won the competition. Cheers to our first double-digit win season in quite a few years!
