Isn’t it interesting that we suddenly get the real story about Drew Lock and the covid trackers after the Broncos chose Teddy?
I don’t want to seem like a conspiracy theorist but this looks a lot like the Broncos PR team trying to get the fans behind the Bridgewater decision. Do you think we would be hearing about Trackergate right now if Drew was named the starter? I’m dubious.
I am firmly team “whoever is the starter” but man this feels a little dirty.

I think if the story had been local — or if the item had been the QBs had been the top story — I think you would have had a valid point. But the part mentioning the Broncos began in the 57th paragraph of a 70-paragraph story. It was a relatively small anecdote in the context of a much larger narrative. As we mentioned on the pod, Fangio appeared to know what happened based on what he said — and yes, it was throwing the QBs under the bus, but based on what we later learned, his anger was justified. (Even though he could have prevented it all by sequestering one QB from the rest of them, as we suggested in the summer of 2020.)

Are there any unwritten rules/axioms that teams follow regarding other teams’ practice squad players or is all fair in love and football?

SMH @ Bradley Chubb. The fact he didn’t have this dealt with well in advance is just nonsense and to me speaks to a lack of focus and maturity which is super concerning when combined with his inability to stay healthy on the field.
At what point does the team start regretting picking up the 5th year on him?

Fellas, it is finally game week! LETS GO!
I do find it ironic that our head coach whose spent 40 years in the NFL can’t trust a young QB, but still trusts himself to make game and timeout management decisions when he continuously messes them up. He is also the guy who trusts his special teams coach even tho that unit has been a mess the entire time he has been in town. This might be a bit harsh, but hey I expect better decision making from a 60 year old coach than I do a 23 year old QB. What say you?

Hey all very long time no comment. As the Broncos start gearing up for week 1 football I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone at DNVR and the entire DNVR family. You guys have made some of the darkest days of the past 18 months or so manageable. Thanks everyone.

Hi guys,
Loved yesterdays pod and agree 100% Drews cover-up actions helped Vics decision!
And now Bradley Chubb has just gone and showed his lack of maturity!
Anyway… looking at all of the week 1 games, which ones are too close to call and not worth betting on? Cheers.

I was hoping for Drew to make it this entire time, even with the recent revelations, which he bears responsibility for. That being said, one of my best friends is a die hard Vikings fan and to this day he wears his Teddy socks for good luck on Sundays. If a player can create that kind of good will after this many years, I am willing to give him a chance. All I want is a team and players I can root for.

Gentlemen.
If you had to choose one of the following guaranteed outcomes, which would you choose?
Von and Chubb combine for 24 sacks.
Teddy puts up 3500 25 TDs/12 INTs
Melvin Gordan and Javonte combine for 1700 yards.
The Broncos go 2-15, secure the number 1 pick, and their two victories prevent the Chiefs from being the #1 seed.
Happy game week and thank you for getting us all through a very long offseason.
