Thanks you guys for having the guts to have this show and have this conversation. Many “stick to sports” people will shy away from this and its BS. As a white male who can run through my neighborhood with NO fear of the police, how could I POSSIBLY tell African American brothers and sisters to “shut up and play” and “I don’t watch you to hear your politics….just want to see you play”??? Its so GD messed up. Anyone who had an issue with protests (some of which turned violent) and said “why can’t you protest peacefully” I would say this. THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. PEACEFUL PROTESTS! You don’t wanna watch anymore?? Good riddance….I will buy your Broncos tickets. Thrilled to be a part of this family.

Hi gents,
First of all, I want to commend you all for your opening segment on the podcast yesterday. It was hard-hitting and nothing but the truth.
As I mentioned yesterday, I have been living in Thailand teaching English. My class was in Kindergarten 1, meaning my students were only 3 years old. Whilst covering the topic of animals, I made sure to teach them to say ‘Von’ when I held up a picture of a goat.
Speaking of Von, I would like to know what you think is Von’s most important contribution to the franchise outside of the obvious 2015 post season run. This could include his community work, another season of his, or even something else.
Thanks

A fellow UK Broncos Fan? A fellow Broncos Vegan too? Loved listening to why you chose the Nuggets, made me chuckle. Welcome anyway dude, my company has an office in Kendal, so I am often up there, beautiful part of the world.

Hey guys, i have never been more proud to be a member of this community.
I don’t live in your country but I am a jewish brown skin guy from mexico, my people have endured hate for thousands of years from all sides.
I know the only way to heal is to really listen and to have some empathy from both sides and not just defend your position, thats why i loved the podcast yesterday. I have been listening since BK and RK and this was my favorite pod yet.
I will say it again, i am proud of our community and very proud of you guys.

Hey guys, hopefully this isn’t too long.
I don’t live in your country. But I am a police officer and have been for many years and feel the need to get some things off my chest.
Ryan first of all when you make the statement “unarmed black people should not be getting killed by the police” I totally agree. I am not going to pretend like I know how police over in America are trained but I’ll try and give some insight into how I was trained and how it would work in my country.
The shooting of Jacob Blake, was completely unjustified. Even if he was holding a knife. At the time he was shot there was no threat to the police or anyone else, we cannot shot a person in the back unless they’re is an immediate risk to someone else’s life. We are taught to contain and negotiate.
However, I don’t have the fear of being shot like police do in America. I think we average maybe one police officer death every year in Australia, and about 4-5 police shootings across the country. But we have strict gun laws, unlike your country.
Mase’s statement on shooting people in the foot or leg was dangerous and wrong. All police are trained to shoot centre mass. Most police are not the terminator, and don’t have elite shooting skills. Also if you shoot someone in the femoral artery they will most likely bleed to death anyway .
Ryan mentioned Kareem Jackson who was stopped by a Police officer and asked if this was his car. I say this to almost ever person I pull over. When you put a vehicle registration number into our system it populates with an owner and their license details are there to be seen. Its not because they’re black or white it’s just easier so I won’t have to check their license status again. I would assume it’s similar in America.
Hopefully this give some insight and the show doesn’t turn into a cop bashing segment. Not all cops are good, but the same can be said for every profession, including NFL players. Let the justice system do its thing and cops who do the wrong thing be punished accordingly.
Drewlockerboi
They tried to taze him twice. That didn’t stop him from marching towards his vehicle he then proceeds over to the car and is reaching for something. Now put yourself in the officers boots the man whom you have attempted to arrest is reaching for something. You have no clue what it is. But you do know this man has a violent past. You don’t know that it’s a knife. What if it was a gun. Then the officer would be in severe danger. Just saying. I would say a lot of officers need more training. Maybe a less deadly weapon should be used. Thanks
MAYBEtheDINGOateYOURbaby
There’s actually over 2,000 gun laws in our country. Much like our immigration laws they’re not enforced to the letter. But the places with the most stringent laws have the worst crime with the largest metropolitan areas. California, new York and Illinois are the largest left leaning states in the country with the most strict gun laws and the worst murder and crime in the country because law following people don’t carry and predators do.
Police here have no support so people like me go out of their way to let my voice be heard. They have become the enemy in a country of 330 million people.
There’s under 1,000 instances of cop induced death and that includes suicide by cop in our country. The police here do an amazing job.
We’re watching over the last few months outrage about a man who resisted arrest and died while overdosing on fentanyl, a man who fought two cops and was shot and killed after he stole the officers Taser and was firing it back at them and a man with a history of violence and violence against police with warrants resisting arrest and digging under his seat while officers were giving him instructions.
Reporters here report half a story without all the facts and as we’ve seen recently, its very dangerous.
I don’t know if you’ll get a notification for this comment but I hope you see it

I have nothing left. Nothing.
As a massage therapist who hears a million compliants per day….Im heartbroken. I love..LOVE the Broncos. They were my stability in a rough childhood. Love them. But I love people more. It kills me to think to think people can be so calluss to their fellow man they choose a “side” Against these Broncos.
These pros have put there hearts on the line…and I’d like to join.
I’m from small town Wyoming kid. Im a kid from lowest trailor park who worked his way to a home. Nobody should be less. Ever.
Thank you for the listen if not the vent.

My boys! About yesterday agree or not with certain things, it doesn’t matter who you are voting for, whether your conservative or liberal. innocent people do not deserve to die, ever! skin color, religion. No one. It’s that simple. Love over everything guys! We can just love on another, come on it’s not hard! Ok sorry for the odd Segway, but with madden 21 coming out today, are you guys starting a new madden league with the new madden? Or transferring it over? I’d love to be apart of the DNVR league! Thanks guys! All love for all my DNVRmy and everyone else!
The Matrix
Hey guys Brian here (aka father of Saquon)
I was really touched by yesterdays opening to the pod, and as you guys said its time to have difficult conversations. As Rk mentioned an open dialogue seems almost impossible to have in todays climate. Now I’m not here to change anyones mind on whether racism does or does not exist, but just share my experiences.
So I’ve been apart of the Dnvr community now for about four years, some of you may know me from the xbox madden league and that I’m totes mexican, and that I was in the military. So back in 2011 I was a young soldier and attended a leadership course that all soldiers must attend in order to get promoted. It was early in my career and was my first experience traveling to the center of the country (good ol Nebraska). So long story short, in my direct class of about 30 soldiers I happened to be the only Hispanic soldier there. At first it didn’t really bother me mainly due to being from southern California, being Mexican I never felt like an “other”. After about 10 days and being treated like a black sheep by not only cadre but more importantly my peers, I guess you could say a life changing event happened. I was taking a shower at the end of the day in our bay, and a group of guys that had not exactly enjoyed the fact that they were sharing a bay with a Mexican guy from socal jumped me in the shower and started throwing laundry detergent on me and started calling me every racial slur you could imagine for a Mexican guy, and they low key beat my ass.lol. At the time I didn’t really know how to handle it, so I probably did the dumbest thing I could’ve done. I kept it to myself and just kept working, knowing that the course would be over soon enough. Now it wasn’t all bad and I made a friend or two while being there and was happy enough to graduate on the commandants’ list ( means I graduated with good grades). And that’s just one story, I’ve been denied service at restraunts, been called racial slurs more times than I can count.
Now why Am I sharing this. As Rk mentioned as a society we seem so eager to win the conversation or narrative. Does Racism exist? No idea, but at that time, it sure as hell felt like it. It felt real as hell to me, so just because I cant factually prove it, doesn’t mean it does not exist. If things like that can happen in an establishment that is suppose to be the best America has to offer, these terrible actions can happen anywhere and to anyone. Sadly lately even if its fabricated by the media that our black brothers and sisters do not feel safe or wanted in parts of this nation. So why would we not listen? Please even if you do not agree , just please listen, no more but this or and that… Just listen. Just because something isn’t real to you doesn’t mean its not real to someone else. Please I’m not asking or need any condolences I truly feel that every experience in life positive or negative is opportunity to build on yourself, and I’m lucky enough to have an outstanding support group with me throughout my life.( and one of the guys that was involved died in a motorcycle accident  )
Lastly something that’s close to my heart, and I can only speak for myself , especially knowing that theres a few other vets on here. Personally the whole kneeling during the anthem is not and will not ever be offensive in my eyes. I’ve seen flags burned, and the worst experience of having to watch a folded flag handed to the mother of two of my soldiers throughout my career. So please enough, taking a peaceful knee is not the most offensive thing we can due to that flag. You know what does bring disgrace to that flag, the fact that Americans on both sides of the aisle feel the need to patrol the streets as if they were in a combat zone, and now we’ve began killing each other over what? Idk man it just seems pointless, and I truly struggle with the fact of seeing all these young people kitting up and heading out to cause harm to one another. I’ll end my pointlessly long comment with this, we are the problem, not America. We are giving her deep painful scars, luckily all scars can and will heal, but we must tend to her with compassion and love.
Either way, I’ll just go back to sharing dank memes now.
Tl:DR Im extremely proud to be apart of this community and may all you continue to grow and evolve each day…except in madden.
Long live Kyler Murray

I just wanna add my voice to the choir of support for you guys. I feel so relieved every time you three speak up for humanity like you did on this pod. And then I feel so lucky – because the team I’ve followed forever is expertly covered by reasonable and humane people. You guys might not even realize the extent to which you become de facto pillars of society when you express positivity and reason when confronted with an extremely painful national discussion like you did here but that’s what’s happening. You’re helping lead this charge. At the same time, you are (in essence) speaking on behalf of the Broncos and for that, I am incredibly proud. Strange days but I think we’ll be good if we do the work, look out for each other, and just head towards the light. Thank you fellas. You guys rule! Keep it up!

Hey guys, I write this comment with a very heavy heart. I am a US veteran, and a active state trooper in my beloved state of Iowa and from what I can tell about the same age as RK and Zac. I am angry when I see the videos from Wisconsin and Minnesota. It’s hurts me, of course i cannot begin to understand how the African American community feels tho. I honestly try so hard to do this job in the most fair and polite way possible, I’m going on 7 years now and touch wood have only used force one time (minor bar arm against a drunk lady on the side of the interstate). It hurts having the entire profession consistently bashed and critiqued by people who don’t understand the risks and who don’t understand how laws work. I just want people to understand and know that there are so many good officers out and about 24hrs a day, weekends and holidays trying their best. Please keep in mind or consider the effects of the job and just how much crazy, sad, terrible stuff we see almost every shift. Ptsd is very real and to continually be told that simply showing up for work somehow means you’re racist or a threat to everyone you’re around really takes a toll mentally. I would happily engage anyone in a dialogue about these issues or perhaps offer a more direct perspective from an officers view. In the end thank you guys for having this discussion and keep up the good work.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for having the hard conversations. In today’s hostile social media and political climate it is much to risk as professionals to have those deep conversations. It takes courage, intellect, and grace. All are also traits of excellent journalists. Thank you for what you do and how you do it.
Am I way off base or is anyone getting Tony Romo vibes from Drew?
RyanClaymon
Hey DNVR Family,
Just wanted to say thank you for the conversation the three of you ha don the pod yesterday. It is desperately needed. Glad to see something trying to be done, but I am afraid that it is not enough. Change starts at the top. If the top of the chain is weak, then everything else is in trouble. No matter who it is for, please vote this year.
Now if there is time I do have a football question: has there ever been a time that two teams in the same division had SuperBowl caliber type QBs at the same time?
Thank you and stay AWESOME my friends.

My guys,
I just celebrated my one year as a DNVR subscriber and I haven’t commented in probably 6 months but felt the need to reach out to show my appreciation. I could not agree more with you guys using your platform to further these discussions on societal injustice. I appreciate DNVR as a whole for taking a firm stance on the right side of history. You guys keep doing your thing and I will continue to support this great community. Go Broncos and long live DNVR.
Your guy,
Brent

Hello again, Gentlemen,
While you are reading this I will probably be on my way to coach in the first EVER high school football game for Elkhorn North High School in Nebraska. It is a brand new school that opened this fall and we are playing our first game against the #2 ranked team in the state… What a way to start. It is going to be a tough year, especially since we do not have a senior class but we have all been working very hard.
I am only the freshman coach so my job tonight will mostly consist of making sure players on the sideline are staying socially distant and wearing masks. But my name will still be on the program and no one can take that away from me. I will keep you guys updated throughout the year and we can all celebrate when we inevitably get our first ever win!
Thanks for everything you do! Hope you are staying happy and healthy.
Drewlacca
I honestly did not read the other comments before I posted mine. I can certainly understand if my above comment comes across as insensitive for the time since we really shouldn’t have a whole lot to be celebrating at the moment. Feel free to skip my comment. Great work from everyone and I could not be more proud to be part of this community.
Hayduke_Abides
Drewlacca-no need to feel bad for celebrating a personal milestone. Life is complicated these days and there is a lot coming at us at once. Even in a dark hour though, there is always room to celebrate the good in our lives. Maybe it is even more necessary than ever. Good luck to you and your team-keep those kids safe and enjoy your accomplishment!

MY BOYS! Please indulge me for a second here. The amount of anger and contentiousness consuming our world, nation, and communities currently and in the past few years is extremely disconcerting. A recent Pew Research Center Poll reported that “(71%) [of Americans] say they feel angry . . . these days, while roughly two-thirds (66%) say they feel fearful.” A Harvard Medical School Professor of Psychology stated the following earlier this month: “There’s no question. Tension is heightened today, and anger is definitely part of that, maybe even an artifact of that. People are definitely exhibiting more anger.” Elizabeth Bernstein of The Wall Street Journal wrote the following this week: “During the pandemic, lack of self-control includes . . . succumbing to our emotions and snapping at loved ones (or strangers), and endlessly doomscrolling the news. Times are hard. It’s natural to lapse sometimes. If you’ve felt your self-control slip recently, don’t beat yourself up about it. . . . Just try to do better going forward.” Finally, these words offered by a former state supreme court justice before the 2016 election may be even more applicable to our current circumstances today: “We should . . . not to be part of the current meanness. We should communicate about our differences with a minimum of offense.”
We can do better to be more civil, empathetic, and in exercising self-control. I just had to get that off of my chest, because many of the problems that are at a rolling boil right now have a lot to do with the rage and ill will being stirred up and inflamed within us individually and collectively. Ultimately, however, the choice is ours as to how we will act and treat our fellowmen and women. My hope is that we can learn to truly esteem one another as brothers and sisters and that we will strive to be less contentious and more amicable in what will be challenging days ahead. DNVRMY SALUTE.

I sent this comment as a tweet to RK originally but I wanted to ask the whole crew this, as well having the ability to explain your answers on the pod and not in 240 characters….
do you feel like Lock has been throwing more picks than average training camp? I’ve been seeing a lot of INT talk. Wondering if it’s him trusting arm too much, defense being good, OL being bad, mixture of all, or it’s just normal training camp work. Thanks for always being available to answer our questions gentlemen!
Also, go bolts/ Braves Mase!
Craig L
Can you give some thoughts on how you see and report on camp. What you see at training camp and how that applies to the regular season. For instance, do we get worried about the amount of picks thrown in training camp, or is it that QBs can take more risks? Does the lack of full contact in camp make the offence seem better than it is? What do you see that worries you? What do you see at camp that doesn’t look good, but doesn’t worry you?

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me anymore that three sports writers can have such eloquent and heartfelt conversations. You are, after all, humans before anything else. This podcast and everything DNVR truly evokes a sense of equality and respect in a very personal manner. Where else are fans interacting with the people of their Fandom in such close proximity?? Hell, I play in a Fing Madden league with Zac and RK…thats pretty special man, and though I’ve never met any of you in person, I feel like if I ever found myself in the DNVR bar I could sit down with a pint and shoot the shit with any of you and it’d feel like I’m talking to an old friend. Its a pretty cool thing this community you’ve cultivated and I know this sentiment has been abundant as of late but thats because its incredibly well deserved, that sentiment being that I am incredibly proud to be a part of a community like this.
It feelsweird to follow that with a football question so ill hold on to it.
Much love fam thank you guys and thank you to the community here for being so supportive of each other.
