Boys, the pod of you guys breaking the news of the hidden Bowlen child was Gold! Gold boys Gold! I was laughing non- stop. Daniel the Golden Retriever deserved to be Best in Show. It ruined my day when that poodle got the trophy. Thanking for providing me laughter everyday. I wish I could be talking and laughing on this pod with guys in person.

should we read into vic not taking munchak with him to the combine? i’ve always thought that o-line isn’t priority number 1 for the broncos this offseason, and they’re happy to roll with a starting lineup of; bolles, risner, morris, wilkinson and james- and munch not being there to directly interview/scout the linemen has me feeling even strongly about that.

also rk; any particular feelings about signing p-rich to come back to colorado? i’d still want them to draft a ruggs or a reagor, but it’s always smart to cover glaring needs before the draft just in case, and i doubt the broncos would have to back up the brinks

For what it’s worth, just watched CNBC Tv and Delta Airlines CEO said its proper etiquette to ask first before reclining your seat on a flight.

Thanks RK for recommending SuperBowlen on Instagram, instant hit with me.

Heard Phillip Lindsay is going to be a dad, congratulations to him.

Finally, choose your favorite way to eat potato’s… mashed (with or without grave), chips or fries.

Take care!!!

DNVR Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that after a late night in my crypt crunching numbers in the friendly confines of my DRC custom rubber casket, I’ve determined that there is about a 75% chance that Los Bowlen’s will no longer be the owners of this formidable franchise.

The discovery of the eighth heir will undoubtedly throw a monkey wrench into the financial plans of the other progeny. Let the Melodrama begin.

My suggestion is this Broncos country – Get in good with RK as the Koenigsberg Ownership Group is at play here. Dishwasher Salmon field at mile high is but a millisecond away in geologic time. (Foil not included)

In this light, What is one major, immediate change each of you would make if you owned the team?

Hey friends. From the Hall of Fame :
The NFL’s 300-yard receiving games :
303 – Jim Benton, Cleveland Rams vs. Detroit Lions, Nov. 22, 1945
302 – Cloyce Box, Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Colts, Dec. 3, 1950
309 – Stephone Paige, Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers, Dec. 22, 1985
336 – Willie “Flipper” Anderson, Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints, Nov. 26, 1989 (OT)
329 – Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys, Oct. 27, 2013
300 – Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers, Oct. 2, 2016
It’s hard to believe I missed my man Julio’s 300! 🙁 It reminds me a lot of Timmy going 10-21 for 316 yards. This from Patrick Smyth :
‘ No, I don’t think you realize what happened. During the game you threw for 316 yards, your yards per rush were 3.16, your yards per completion were 31.6, the ratings for the game were 31.6 and the time of possession was 31.6. ’ Mase, you and I were not alive in 1945 or 1950, so we would not be aware of the 1st. 2. The last 4, I should have seen the games, so no excuses for me! 🙁 GO BRONCOS/ALEX/DREW

Hey guys, really interesting discussion on Locks numbers for his first 5 starts. Worth considering one of Drew’s games was in awful weather conditions at Kansas, everyone has to deal with weather, but this was pretty severe.

In terms of soccer, much as it irks me to say it, Wolves are a nice shout for a premier league team. They are an up and coming team who are fighting in the upper half of the table. They also play good football. I would like to throw Aston Villa (my team) into the ring, a founding member of the football league, one of only 5 English teams to have won the champions league, one of the best (traditional) stadiums in the country and in Jack Grealish one of the most exciting English players in the league. Sure we’re fighting at the bottom this year, but it’s more fun than the top of the table that is already decided, right?

Sorry for the long comment, I’ll be more succinct in the future!

Come on now mase and zac…

So you decided to bring up all of the false positives, but failed to mention where great QBs such as Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning etc. landed on this list. You know what the biggest difference is between the 3 Denver QBs? OPEN YOUR EYES test, the eye test. Drew Locks starts and throws excelled Trevor and Brock with the eye test to infinity and beyond. Us who are excited about Drew Lock aren’t crazy over the stats, it’s what we see. Also mase I have a buddy who lives in Seattle and he said that the reason so many people are buying XFL tickets is due to how hard it is the get Seahawk tickets.

Was thinking the same thing.

Brock and Spock ain’t better than Lock

(Spock is Simien because I wanted to riff so shut up!)

Closer comp between Lock and Simien is the Cowboys game in 2017 and the Texans in 2019.

1) Thought I’d join the fun and change my name from DJC15 to something a little more entertaining
2) EP Bronco, what part of El Paso do ya live? I went to Franklin High School from 2008-2012!
3) Just completely coaching an undefeated season for a private school basketball
4) flying isn’t the only advantage shorter people have! It’s easier for y’all in theme parks too! I got told I couldn’t ride a roller coaster because i was too tall at 6’3” and trying to fit in any rides with those dang seat bars and harnesses is almost impossible!

Besides the craziness that is the Bowlen Family, we are in a dead period as far as broncos news…so I have some XFL takes.

I agree with Mase that the NFL is missing a true developmental league that allows players to focus solely on mastering their craft without the distractions that come with college. I also agree that the XFL lacks star power, especially at the QB position…this is why I feel like they are missing a massive opportunity to really carve out a niche in the football market.

I am a huge college football fan, but I think that the billion dollar industry that is college football really takes advantage of young men that get next to nothing in return for their efforts on the gridiron.

So I hear me out.

They could allow blue chip recruits to go straight to the XFL where they can get paid for their skills, and can focus and train with professionals that can help them get to the next level. Let’s face it, college isn’t for everyone and a lot of these kids come from backgrounds that are less than ideal. They can make money immediately, and almost treat it like a trade school. The XFL can set up a scholarship fund for those that don’t make it in the NFL and even provide junior college courses for those that want to go to school but get paid to play football. How much more interested would we be if Trevor Lawrence was the starting QB for the Houston Renegades? If the XFL would trey itself as a developmental/premier league for those that aren’t eligible for D1 football or just want to get paid for their skills they could really capture a huge audience.

Anyways, just my thought on how the XFL could really carve out a place in football and generate a lot more interest…because surprisingly, besides the terrible QB play, I find the XFL entertaining

Thanks for the jersey recommendations! Long snapper indeed sounds like the perfect jersey choice for me… your fake Sam Ficken headlines got me cracking up. Just hilarious for a German.
A question for the community: Any football names which are hilarious for you because they mean something in your language?
Another example for me would be coach Frank Reich. France in German is „Frankreich“.
Sorry for the many offseason comments and grammar mistakes from my side – I do try my best! Love you guys!

Well Gents, I love the detailed analysis behind the numbers of Locks First five Starts! I Opened my eyes Zac and decided to hold off on the purchase of the number three jersey.

Much to my Glee and Jubilee my wife’s Valentine’s Day gift was the custom blue alternate number 3 Locks jersey in Memorial of the Bill O’Brian melt down! Then she asked, “Do you want to know what you got me?” This was a shock because I had already given her gift to her at Dinner.

She comes out in the number 15 Mahomes Jersey and once again I realized how marring into a Chiefs Fans Family was a vast oversight..

Mase thank you for the optimism around Drew’s timeline and microwave development! This gives me hope Drew is not Brock and or Peter Parker! I need him to be Superman! Please be Superman! Here is to a house divided and boy I hope Lock is the Guy! Please let Lock be the GUY please!!!!!!!!

Thanks for making traffic something I can bare now. This community continues to be a blessing!!!!

Byron Jones is an intriguing prospect.

Would you call him a “hybrid” CB/FS? I get he will want to paid like a CB and we’d want to line him up mostly as a CB – but surely there are some interesting disguises you could do with him and Jackson interchanging roles given the comfort they’d have to do it?

I get the feeling though that CHJ is coming home. This all seems like an elaborate back and forth just to end up back together. We’ve got the money, and he has a family settled in Denver enough daughters to marry them off to the Rivers family sons (they’d celebrate the union of the two houses with bulk apple turnovers).

Last question for you…

NY Jets go on the clock at 11….John Elways phone rings. They want to offer the 11th for Von Miller. Do you take it?

(This is not a question of whether the NYJ would or should – it’s a question of the Broncos decision in that moment).

Hello DNVR community a few things today
1. Mase, Since seinfeld has been coming up a lot lately I have to ask, who, in your opinion, is the worst person on the show? For me personally its got to be elaine. The way she always confronts random strangers and yells at them for the dumbest things. what do you think?

2. Its always sunny in philadelphia is my absolute favorite TV show and I reccomend you guys check it out, provided kids arent around. What is each of your favorite shows? Bachelor not included RK.

3. favorite movies? mine is pulp fiction.

4. Finally, The NFLs Youtube channel posted a video the other day top 100 catches of the 2019 season. As you can imagine our resident stone cold savage Mr. Courtland Sutton was on their a few times. My question is do we know why he always gets up and aggressively spins the football on the ground? He does it on almost every catch, just curious and thought maybe someone has asked him and I missed it.

thanks guys keep the pods coming and have a great day.

Might sound weird at first but hear me out:

Not only did I find something that pairs great with any sports jersey and doesn’t make you a Herb, but it also can be had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, and even an anytime snack.

As a further bonus, it may not answer how many holes a straw has, but it pairs perfect with one.

Cocai- I mean, Coca-Cola.

Question: Imagine you could build Beef Supreme in a lab – in this case, he’s the perfect defensive player to add to the 2020 Denver Broncos. He falls in the draft because the teams ahead of the Broncos and any that would trade up for him are run by Vegans who can’t stomach Beef on their squad. What position does Beef play on the defense and what are his traits?

Mace, While listening to the Pod, you mentioned Dick Tarrant and Johnny Newman, wow I am from Danville, Va where Johnny was a high school legend. I lived in Richmond during the Tarrant years but actually was a VCU Rams fan where JD Barnett coached! Thanks for bringing up the memories! My Broncos question for today is, Whats the status on the Justin Simmons signing and whats the possibility of drafting one of the top cornerbacks in the draft? Thanks for all you do and go Broncos!

I really appreciated your dive into the numbers we have on Drew Lock. It shows how hard it is to know if he’s “the guy” from the limited play that we’ve seen. The outliers like Mahomes are obvious, but most players are somewhere in the middle. It’s difficult to compare across seasons, team schedules, and the different personnel each team played with.

I’m originally from Denver but now live in Chicago so this made me think a lot about how the 2017 draft played out. One team looked at the numbers and traded up to get Trubisky. Another team looked at the exact same numbers and traded up to get what seems to be a generational quarterback talent in Mahomes. The Broncos might have been in the playoffs this year if that draft pick goes the other direction.

Anyhow, thanks for putting on a great show from a long time fan of the Denver Broncos and Breckenridge Vanilla Porter! If you ever find yourself in Chicago during the season, stop by and watch the game with our crew, Chicago Bronco Nation, and your beers are on me!

Hey guys, first time commenter here.
I’ll keep it short. Do you believe the Broncos would have any interest in bringing in Nelson Spruce given the way he’s been balling out in the XFL, and if they did would he have a real shot at being an impact player in our offense?

I have soooo many questions but ill limit it to 2 and play out other things during the week #1 …… Am i wrong or don’t two sport Qbs usually do very well in the nfl that were 2 sport athletes ??? ..Elway, Russell Wilson , Mahomes , now lock hmmmm or is that a reach to say ?? …..and #2 ……i keep looking at mocks and i keep thinking man oh man …..why don’t we ttade doen with Miami heres my scenario tell me what you think …..Trade down with Miami get their two forst rounders and give them our Sf 3rd rounder …. And boom we take laviaska at 18 and trevon diggs with that Houston pick….. What you think ??? I think diggs and and jaylen johnson are the only corners worth taking in this draft ….. ???

What up homies! I was a little heated regarding Chris Harris yesterday if you couldn’t tell haha anyways just wanted to thank you guys for taking time to give me advice on how to get into the sports world! Couple more questions regarding that tho…what degrees did y’all get? & are they absolutely necessary in order to make it? The closest degree I can find out here in Vegas is Journalism/Media Studies-News production at the local JUCO. Would this be a good spot to start?

Ryan & Co, the decision is easy. Your EPL team of choice should be Liverpool. They’re one of the most thrilling teams in the world right now, one of the most charismatic and likeable coaches in sports in Jurgen Klopp, a spine tingling rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone performed by the entire stadium before every home game, and a never ending list of iconic moments, most recently the second leg of last years Champions League semi final against Barcelona. And don’t worry about jumping on the bandwagon, we’d be ecstatic to have you on board. Loving the Broncos offseason coverage. Keep up the awesome work.

stefon diggs is a hot name right now in the fanbase, but i think i’d rather push for a dj moore trade instead. might cost a lil more (maybe a 2 this year and a 2 next year?) but he’s younger (will be 23 for the 2020 season), cheaper, a much more dynamic presence in terms of creating yards after the catch, as well as less of a locker room issue.

carolina are in an obvious rebuild especially factoring in the terms of rhule’s contract, so i imagine most- if not all- players are available for the right price. what do y’all think?

People that recline their airline seats are the WORST. I’m a tall guy. I can’t sit in an airline seat with my legs straight. I have to man-spread to fit, and my knees still touch the corners of the seat in front of me. If someone reclines, my knee goes into the aisle because there’s nowhere else for it to go. Then I get hit by the beverage cart and yelled at by flight attendants. Airlines should just take away the reclining seats altogether. Congress also sucks because they had a vote to put a limit on legroom to force airlines to stop taking legroom away. They voted against it, and legroom on airlines has been shrinking ever since.

RK – it’s a perfect time to find a EPL team because Christian Pulisic is playing for Chelsea. Pick Chelsea because America.

It sounds like the three of you have a good working relationship with Steve Atwater. Any chance he would appear on the podcast as a guest? I understand he’s a busy guy, but maybe he could call in for a 10-15 minute spot or something.

On the topic of CHJ, let the man do what he wants. He’s been a great player for the Broncos. If he goes to the Chiefs, it’s the Broncos fault for mishandling the contract negotiations and letting him go. You can’t blame the guy for chasing the money during his last chance for a big contract.

Hey guys,

I was excited to here you might be picking an EPL team to support! Ryan, it was cool to hear you talk about liking Sunderland. One of my earliest memories was when Niall Quinn (who was Ireland’s all-time leading scorer) drove me to get McDonalds because he thought I looked bored sitting in on one of my dad’s business meetings. Unfortunately, Sunderland aren’t still in the Premier League but as someone who grew up in the sport I do have a team that I feel is an obvious and easy choice: Everton

1.Everton is the biggest and best team you can chose without being a bandwagon fan.

2. 50% of the club was recently sold to a mega billionaire and they hired a very prominent coach in January so you’d be coming in just as Everton looks ready to explode.

3. Zac already owns an Everton jersey with his name on it.

4. Everton has the strongest ties to American players of any EPL Team. Tim Howard, Landon Donovan, Brian Mcbride, and Joe-Max Moore were all Blues. On my last day working for Everton, Tim actually sent me a signed shirt.

5. Because of this American connection fan clubs can be found everywhere including Denver and Fort Collins so if you like watching games at a pub with a big group of fans Everton is ideal.

6. Everton has the best atmosphere of any team in England. They don’t get overrun by tourists like Liverpool whose stadium is 300 yards away. The Everton fan songs are so good that other fanbases routinely steal or adopt them.

7. They play in a stadium from the 1800s that has so much history it makes Wrigley Field feel like Tropicana. It also has the best views of any stadium. The second tier of the Bullens Road Stand actually extends over the lower tier all the way to the edge of the field and is so steep that you feel like you’re on top of the action watching down on it like a god (You can sit in normal seats too). If you watch the movie Creed you can get a sense of this amazing atmosphere.

8. Their list of “celebrity” fans includes Sylvestre Stallone and former Broncos fullback Jacob Hester

9. Nine is for Dixie Dean who scored 60 goals in 1927

10. Everton run one of the largest independent charities in professional sports that provides supports for thousands of veterans, disadvantaged youths, and disabled people within the community. Given DNVR’s own strong connection with the community I think this is a great pairing.

11. If you end up going to England for the Broncos I can probably arrange for you to get tickets and maybe even a player interview if you were interested. (Everton was the first pro soccer team to have a podcast)
